Honestly, Buhari is not just lucky. He's a good person and for sure he's working and we can't just see it yet.he came to fix stuff and things are just hard due to the evil people trying to disturb his works.

That's true, he's the only non-corrupt leader we have had in a while and some of the f00ls on this site don't even realise that.

He did not send his children to expensive schools neither has he embezzled funds from this nation, and yet there are dullards that insult him.

Buhari is the best thing to happen to Nigeria in a long time. He's not Westernised, he's not a puppet, he's not corrupt, and he's disciplined. He's done a great job so far regardless of what haters and bigots say.

Simply put...2.1 in Nigeria equivalent to 4.0GPA in US

United States University education is leagues ahead and above Nigeria's current education system. Nigerian education has not been good for a while thanks to corruption and useless politicians embezzling funds.

That's not true. You are overhyping things.

The successful guy in question is an exception, not the rule. US education is tough

Very true, either he's an exception, or he just decided to work himself to death to achieve what others thought he could not achieve. I think he's just a very serious-minded hard worker.

E say Russia. How many Nobel laureates are from Russia and France compared to the UK?

UK is behind in regards to science. You are not seeing the big picture. Germany, Russia and France all have better Engineers than the UK. Just because Nigeria was colonised by the UK does not mean that it is a stellar place to be educated in this modern age. UK Ph.D. programmes are lacking. They are only 3 years as opposed to the United States 5 years.

In Europe, France and Germany are richer than the U.K. and have better engineered products. We do not have to step far away to see companies like Mercedes, BMW, Audi/Volkswagen with far better innovated products than the British.

In Russia, they are renowned for having stellar Scientists and Mathematicians. Their weaponry is 2nd to none. What exactly is the UK doing? That's right riding on the backs of Americans.

In regards to technological innovation and great engineers, I wouldn't even rank England in the top 15. United States, China, Germany, Russia, France, South Korea, Japan, etc. are all more technologically ahead.

I just read your post again and saw where you said your judgement is relative.

Now I understand where you are coming from but that doesn't mean UT at Austin isn't a top school irrespective of their ranking.

Definitely, not everyone will be placed in top 10.

Those rankings should be taken with a grain of salt. It depends on who is doing them.

Oh, US not globally? My faculty is currently number 1 in the UK and 3rd in the world.

World rankings are hardly to determine as the UK is often overrated due to jingoists within the country. Remember, India, Russia, France, Germany, etc. all have fantastic schools. I find it hard to believe that schools in the UK would be better than those in Russia, France and Germany.

When did university of Texas become a top uni. Mind you, I attended a global top 20 uni, so my judgement is relative.

University of Texas - Austin has always been a top 20 Engineering School (EE, CS and CE) in the United States, this is well known. This has been the case for a very long time. Where did you attend?

I don't think it has anything to do with fees. Universities like OAU and UI have had their days of glory, without the fees being high. I don't see a correlation between fees and quality of education, in federal schools.

The problem is obvious. Our education sector is in a shambles.

You can thank Corruption for that

Is Covenant university not a better university than Texas A&M?

Texas A&M is a pretty stellar engineering school and one of the top schools in the United States. It is ranked up there with University of Texas -Austin.

This is an eye opener to Nigerian men that it's hightime we married white ladies ( I don't mean old mamas).

I know some broke feminists would intrude this thread and turn the tide to their disgusting blushing cool

Marrying white women is not a solution. The problem with Nigerians is Westernisation. It should not be proud that it is abandoning its own languages, tradition, etc. in favour of something that is not their own (Western culture). Nigerians have severe inferiority complex. They claim to be religious and believe in God, but yet they treat white people as their God.

I think your real problem is you are one of those Fulani wannabe ready to throw your brothers and sisters under the bus, sorry, under the bridge.

lipsrsealed

You obviously don't know how to read. When you get better reading skills let me know. Hausa and Fulani are not the same thing. Anyone who thinks they are is uneducated and had no idea what they are talking about.

If you think all Africans are the same culturally, then I question if you are even African to begin with. All Africans know that Nigeria as a country alone has a plethora of cultures.

So do me a favour when you actually know what you are talking about, feel free to comment.

Mr. Education,

You are totally off the point. Read what Babtoundey is trying to convey again.

Hausa are more like their brothers and sister around them than like Fulani, the invaders!

Got it?

You and Batoundey are one in the same, you have the exact same writing style. If you simply do not understand what I'm saying, perhaps you should pick up a book.

Mr. Education, you sound uninformed.

Hausa are Africans related and similar to their neighbors compared to Fulani or Arab. If you do not understand that after all these information, you need your colo-mentality checked

I'm sorry, but you sound uninformed. Traditional Hausa culture is quite different from tradtional Fulani culture. Hausaunke are Farmers tradtionally whereas Fulbe tradtionally are Herdsmen. Diets are also different. In Fulani culture, you have Kossam e lacciri, Gawri e Kossam, etc. etc. Hausa don't have such a diet.

African culture is very vast and different. Even in other countries, Fulani may have a different diet (point in case the Haal'pulaaren of Senegal/Mauritania who are mainly Fishermen).

Who said anything about Africans being Europeans. We are quite different culturally from Europeans, however not all Africans have the same culture. Africa is far more diverse than Europe.

This is wonderful and as well beautiful. Hausas, the real Hausas, are Africans. I used to have this belief within me that there is not much African about them judging from their dressing, dominant religion and even language that always sounds Arabic to me. Sometimes I felt there is little difference between their language, music and culture and that of the Arabs.

But how come little or nothing of all these exist today?

And the dressing of the Bori priestess is very similar to that of priestesses of Osun in Yoruba land.

How do you define a "real African"? Because Fyi, Africa is not a monolith like many of you uneducated people think.

Now the question is who or what is
stopping it from happening? The East, West and South have all echoed with one voice that the only solution to Nigeria's problems is restructuring, and the north have never made any, Atiku who came out to support it received a lot of backlash from the same Northern elites. Who is deceiving who in this country? If the north are really in support of restructuring then
let them take the necessary steps towards achieving that.

Does Atiku represent Northern Nigeria? Because I'm pretty sure that people like Lamido Sanusi and Buhari have all been for resconstruction a long time ago. Stop making up bullsh1t.

I was born in a full breed military family and an aspiring officer, I was in maid when BH started from their attacks at Jere lga till they spread , I have in depth knowledge of the military, your first instance is true however,

The army was In direct control of the nation hence had the power to disminate funds to it's branch, during that time did you check the state of NAF. Or NN, tell no th. Navy had only aradu as its only functional sea going vessel and NAF had only but 6 serviceable Alpha jets.

Fast forward to obasanjo era, to forstall another coup , he systematically abandoned the military and basically reduced them to parade effectivness and police action figure , only in peacekeeping opps did we perform and it was with equipments bought by the UN.
NAF was Abandoned still till, the handover of bakassi peninsula when due to tensions we rushed to purchase F-7 chengdu interceptors for NAF while , NN remained dormant.

The late yaradua of blessed memory initiated basic reforms but was cut short by death, the man you so loath was and stll carries the tag as the man who revamped the military,
from new MRAp, APCs, new orbat, to the formation off new units armed with state of the art weaponry I e 72 MSF. NAF AF SF, SBS Nn, ,revamping of towed and static artillery pieces, etc

In NAF, for the first time abd rather to late we go surveillance assets with elint upgrade, improved helos for CAS, exfil and infil etc

For NN , we obtained new OPVs, our own homemade vessels with two frigates and lots oc offshore patrol vessels with many orders still being fufiled in this admin.

Kick your political affiliation, prejudice to one side and embrace facts, GEJ achieved all this .

I don't have the time to give you more but this are snippets, the war of Liberia and Sierra Leone was fought with ragtag militias with no air support and ,few Infrantry fighting vehicles ,we had an edge , the enemies of now fight with technicals and are ready to die , spot the difference.
I end my case here , if you want to educate yourself more goto beegeagle. and start from. The scratch. As I said if I want to start it would take me days ,I give criticism when due and praise when due

Free yourself ,

I forgot to add something, the same bunch of committed soldiers that fought in Leone were not the same bunch that started with BH, we had a lot of job seekers, tribal affilators and moles in the army with the only order of eat, eat and eat. They never wanted combat, like they say it takes air to blow chaff FrOm the wind and mistakes to be learnt.

Thank minimah and ihejirika for bringing discipline back to NA

Kapish

And yet in GEJs era, we wanted to buy sh1tty weaponry from the United States (a crop duster plane as an example), when we could be buying more advanced weaponry from Russia or better yet replicating the weaponry sold to us by the Russians and improving on it (that is what most nations do).

Instead, we were buying outdated Chinese jetfighters that were practical remakes of the 3rd generation Mig-21, yes this all happened in GEJs era whereas other African nations like Ethiopia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and South Africa all had more advanced weaponry.
