Hello house,
Has anyone been able to log into their IRCC account today?
I have been unable to. Wondering if it's is my network or a general site maintenance. |

Thanks bro. I prefer the option of using a dollar debit card from a relative/friend. I appreciate your prompt response Augrere2022: Buy dollar, pay to my account give me your login I pay for you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There are apps you can use like chipper, registered, active and verify the account, request for a virtual card and use the card. If you have close friends or relatives that have dollar account and debit card, pay dollar into their account and use their card for your application payment. |

My apologies. I meant 19Jul. I got ID request on 16Aug and the notes on 17Aug. I suggest you try the other method discussed on this platform that involves paying. @kenoja actually testified getting it within 9days. Also take up the advise offered by @angie88. But buy all means try more options to beat the time. Best of luck. portablesuzy: @Funformofi i appreciate have not gotten any ID request and its over a month since July 6th. I followed the steps given on the thread. did u say u applied August 19 or its a typing error. Am seriously believing for a mail from then |

alakara: CHANGE YOUR COURSE OF STUDY TO SHOW ACADEMIC OR CAREER PROGRESSION Thanks for the response. The course is actually intentional as its tailored towards my future goal. Academic progression means MSc which is a tall shot from where I am. I tried but na long thing. Career progression is more like it |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Funformofi: 8:39am On Aug 18, 2023 |
Thanks for the response as always. I figured we can only re-fire in the line of career progression as advised and mine is tailored towards my retirement future goals. Academics progression is clearly not the way to go (MBA- PGC). I will be needing help to vet the new draft when I'm done. To all the SOP guru in the house, pls don't disregard my PM oh 🙏 @bullstriker @zubizareta God bless you all for your time and knowledge/ experience sharing. bullstriker: I believe the officer’s note is self-explanatory and reasonable. Your proposed program is not relevant to your current occupation. To address the issue, you need to establish the program's relevance to your present and/or future career path. How is HR related to your present occupation? Is the program designed to improve or update you on new market trends, new tech and analysis in the industry? Are you getting a promotion that requires knowledge and skills in the proposed program? You must explain clearly the relevance of the certification to career growth. Like a puzzle, identify the gap, and show the VO how the intended program fits perfectly. |

Greetings House!
Giving update on my GCMS notes and to encourage @portablesuzy that the free ATIP still works 100%.
Please follow the steps as given on the thread.
I applied on 19Aug, got an ID request on 16Aug and notes sent to me today 17Aug (30 days just as predicted by the gurus)
Now to today's biz: Upon all the grammar in the generic refusal, see my notes attached and advise.

I agree. Let's see the outcome of the GCMs and I will update the house. I appreciate all your responses. zubizareta: Then you have to rework your sop to show career progression with regards to shifting from accounting after 2 decades to Human Resources Management |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Funformofi: 6:15pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Thank you @Bobomaigida. I will order for the GCMs. I think someone gave us a step by step earlier in the thread. Bobomaigida: I think your SOP did not do justice to your profile. Better to get your GCMS notes and see the specific reason and rework your SOP in line with the refusal reason before reapplying. |

PGC in Human Resource management 1year duration course. Already hold HND in Accounting MBA in Finance mgt PGD in Data Analytics Career Prospects: To start a Recruitment, employee management/ training servicing company post retirement. AskGod07: What course do you applied for ? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Funformofi: 5:36pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Yes I used an agent. I was advised to leave the family behind to strengthen my application seeing it's a 1yr course. GCMs note takes 1 month to come out so I have to defer then....... Bobomaigida: Sorry for the refusal, was the application done by an agent?
From the letter it seems you did not explain the programme well enough, and it also seems some information you provided contradicted each other on your SOP.
You need to rewrite your SOP, but before you do request for your GCMs notes. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Funformofi: 5:32pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Thanks for the swift response. I applied early July. An accountant of almost 2 decades but looking at recruitment services prospects as future retirement plan. Home & economic ties. Applied alone, my wife and kids are home. Also mentioned my Siblings. Used 2 landed properties, a duplex and a family business I run with my wife docs zubizareta: Sorry for the refusal
When did you apply? Cos if you applied before the change of ircc rate then your reapplication will need you working on your pof.
What are you currently doing? Any relationship with the program you applied for? Lastly, what were your economic and home ties. The VO had concerns with your purpose of travel so it could be these things I listed above. Mail me the SOP you submitted let me see. |

Hi mama, I sent you a dm. Pls respond. Misstolaly: I would also advise you reached out to the facility where you did your medicals, especially with my experience today.
Submitted application for Work Permit for Spouse (SOWP), Study Permit (SP) & Visit Visa (VV) on May 10th and did upfront for all on May 1st (My older daughter (SP) had an existing medical that was passed on a previous application). Qlife delayed uploading report for the VV until I got a request for additional medicals from IRCC on the 22nd and I was at QLife on 24th to deal (they were full of apologies). Meanwhile medical for SP was passed on 18th of May, medical for SOWP was passed on 22nd of May, and it now remained VV.
I followed up with emails and webforms from the 1st of June to IRCC that how far, especially since VV's medical was still pending. PPR dropped for SOWP and SP on the 7th and 9th of June respectively while VV 's medical is still pending for VV. I have been sending daily emails and webform to IRCC but decided to visit QLife in person today, only to discover they were yet to transmit results for the VV. It is worthy to note that the medical for my older daughter's SP expired after it was passed and she she did another medical which has also been passed while my 3 month old daughter medical was yet to be transmitted, if not for the delay, all applications would probably have been approved in May)
Now that this has been done, hoping IRCC will pass the medical and I can get her PPR this week so we can dispatch passports for stamping.
NB: I got my SP last year December and would be resuming Fall 2023, so still very much in Nigeria, I just booked another medical since my medical on file has now expired. |

Thanks for the response bros. Option 1 seems fair provided all things are equal. Fear is if IRCC goes back to sleep mode and we wait endlessly for visa Option 2: Would strong home ties like personal building with a good valuation, study leave from both employers, immediate siblings and parents be enuf as home ties? It's the duration of study (1 year) that is actually making me look for anyone in the same boat to boost my confidence. I know with 2 years, there are plenty success stories. ShowYoung: Option 1. I suggest that the husband goes alone so as to use the spouse and children as home tie. Immediately he touches down in September, he should submit for spouse and children.
Option 2. All can apply together but with strong proofs of home ties.
SOWP for the spouse and children should apply for either Visitor Visa if not older than 7 years or Study Permit if older than 3 years.
What makes you begin to look for success stories? There are many success stories. |

Hello house,
Thanks for all your contributions, they are biulding a wealthy library.
My question: Husband got admission for a 1 year program; can he apply with his spouse and 3kids?
If yes, will that be SOWP for spouse and SP for kids........or just visiting visa for them.
I have seen replies to similar questions saying they can but are there any success stories?
Pls help a sister, school resumes in Sept.
Thanks. |

Frankrobbn1: I am experiencing a huge volume of enquiries and requests from prospective applicants. Unfortunately, I will not be available to review your letter at this time. I will appreciate if other trusted and knowledgeable gurus on this platform would help you with the vetting of your letters. I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this might have caused you.
In the meantime, should you've any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to ask them here for the benefit of others and the betterment of this platform.
It will end in praise Ouch! That hurts. It's all good. I know it will end in Praise. Thanks for your time though, I appreciate. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Funformofi: 3:01am On Mar 31, 2021 |
Frankrobbn1: My straightforward advice for you is to apply for a program that is higher than your already acquired degree. In essence, going for an advanced diploma dramatically reduces your chances of convincing the visa officer than you're a genuine student. With your vast 17 years work experience, you should be qualified for a Master's program if you adequately prepare your SOP for graduate admission. Again, its highly recommended that you should apply alone while your spouse and kids accompany you through the SOWP and visitor's (depending on the age of your kids).
I hope this information satisfies your inquiry
It will end in praise Amen sir- It will indeed end in Praise. I appreciate your response. @shupy flagged the course and after checking again I think it's the best course to suit my present needs (in my mind oh) Would you be kind enuf to assist in vetting my SOP (I wrote 2)? You can advise on which will impress the VO and also point out my gray areas. As regards my family, I am totally up for the route you advised but I don't know how. Reading up success stories on NL has boosted my faith that it's possible. Long story short, I need help. |

1, I really would like to how to package my application to include my children 2, Can I apply for my husband's visitor visa along with mine and the kids (I saw online that visitor visa takes 206 working days now) I am applying for an advanced diploma in aviation......any downsides to this?
I really would appreciate your expertise and experience here. Thank you all @baphil @justexcellent @frankbonn1 Can the guru's in the house help me out please. @frankrobnn1 @justMellow who else pls? shupy post=14268shupy : Welcome to Nairaland. I'm no expert. People do get study permit even when applying with family members. The biggest problem when applying with family members is that it reduces your hometie. However, applying without the inclusion of your children increases your hometie and gives your chances of getting study permit a boost. Don't even think of including your husband in your application. You have to convince the officer you intend to return to Nigeria after your studies. If you and your family have an history of traveling together, strong assets, e.t.c that's a plus. But it's always difficult to get study permit with the inclusion of family. Most people try it and if they're refused, they do not include any family member in the follow-up application and may get their permit. : Thank you @Shupy, We I have done quite a number of travels alone (job related) and few family travels. One of the family travel was to Canada and we didnt over stay. My husband has a stable job, we have some assets and a joint biz we run part-time. I really dont fancy leaving him out due to the fact that he will not be able to get his Visa renewed to come visit us hence my question on if I can include him in my application. Secondly, is a 3year advanced diploma in Georgian College a good choice? I see it does not qualify me for the NSE. P.S There is no Msc/MBA or PGD course in aviation that will give me in-depth knowledge as the one I have chosen. Thanks |
