thanks for the info, its expensive , but its better to take a step at a time, please don't send PM, its better to share everything here so we can all learn. Will check the CPA fees too now, so if its cheaper, we can weigh the two options and den decide right? Will go tru the two thoroughly then pick one. Thanks, once again, for joining this thread,

The assessment link is this http://www.vetassess.com.au/Skills-Assessment-for-Migration/General-Occupations, its not even hard to fit in. Thanks ariyibi, av been very lazy abt this thing, I just read it casually, its much easier when there is knowledge sharing. The assessment cost is 810aud dollars, like 120k. This thing na money but it worths it. Let me check CPA assessment fees . Can I PM you
TravelRe: Australia Skilled Independent Visa by Funto900: 8:59pm On May 30, 2015
I can feel that we will suceed in this. Okay, the assessment for auditors is www.vetassess.com.au/, while u are waiting to write english test, you can check this link www.vetassess.com.au/Skills-Assessment-for-Migration/General-Occupations/Required-Documents, its stated that english test is not needed unlike CPA, then why don't u wait for the ielts test in July, I feel toefl more central, even if its acceptable in australia, ielts is acceptable in more places, and u can use d test to do other things, but if u can't wait lol,

I worked as an audit officer too, the accountant has ended o! Let's do this, I have ietls test 6.5. Isn't the cost too expensive lol, I saw the estimated cost of application abt 800k, what do u feel ariyibi.

ariyibioladokun:
A quick summary of my starting point.-
1. Write an English Test asap.
2. Get my skills assessed by either CPA/IPA(assess accountants) or VETASSESS(they assess auditors).
This is the link to check if they are still taking application for your profession http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/SkillSelect/SkillSelect.aspx
3. Then i will apply for state nomination,i will be applying to western australia
This is the link to check if your occupation is still in demand
http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/services/skilled-migration-wa/occupations-in-demand.

I will keep this thread posted as i progress, but i will be off for a while so i can prepare for English test, if you have any question just post, i'll respond when am free.

Am believing God that with faith my application will scale through.
Wow, am liking this already, will check out the links and see if I can do this too, my occupation is here too

Thank you very much for your response and time,
Do you intend to come back or stay back and work?
Because I told my husband we should do it together ,he is scared of the unknown, he works in a bank.
Is it advisable we go together or I go first?
Thanks
we both intend to stay, but focusing more on professional studies. Can u PM me, we seem to have lots in common.

Please I need your response.

Thanks
Hello,

My wife is also an Accountant, but we are going together by God's grace. Yes you can work but uno there are no guarantees anywhere. You need to justify why u will be going to canada for a certificate, after having masters and all that. Its safer to apply a 2years program that will enable you get the 3years work permit. Your husband should be able to visit you, am still packaging our application, so i cant answer that. But as an Accountant u need to be a professional in canada before you are recognised and licensed to work as one. Research about the accounting qualifications in the province u applied to, that will even be a strong point for ur SOP.

Happy Easter All, few days back I asked abt Selkirk College. Just to share info for prospective students like me, I was able to get contacts of few alumni from my sch and dey said its not a recognised school like that, once a community college and yet to really advance like that. And dere are no jobs in castlegar at all for those who intend to work. Just sharing! So am back to my research table, need to look @ other schs .

Thanks
pls follow this link and. Call, I called the admiSsion office selkirk.ca/admissions/admissions-office/contact-us. Note the timing difference, I heard dey don't respond to mail fast, so I. Do more of calling

what's the duration of the pgd at selkirk and how much do u av available and how much is d fee there?
the duration for selkirk is 2years (and its eligible for 3years postgraduate permit), its estimated at 22,000candollars. I can afford 23,000dollars or maximum 25,000dollars if I defer admission and earn more. Macewan uni is also 2years, and. Might be eligible for part funding. (Total is 36.000can dollars).
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Funto900: 6:16am On Mar 30, 2015
House pls I need help, I got pre-admission, serlkirk college and Macewan UNiversity, for selkirk its a post graduate degree while Macewan is a Diploma, I have 6years gap but I av been working since I graduated. My dilemma is Selkirk is in a remote area, I don't know if the location is ok(read it has forest and mountains) and jobs aren't much. I need response from people pls how is castlegar BC. Macewan uni on d other hand is in edmonton good location, but d diploma is more expensive and I don't know if its reasonable for a graduate with distinctions,6years work experience to pick up a diploma course(I also read that there are. A lot of jobs in edmonton and d health plan is favourable for immigrants). The ultimate goal is PR, pls advise me on which to pick, selkirk or Macewan. Am supposed to send in my application today, don't want to waste money. Thanks in advance

One thing you all should have in mind is that majority of the people on this thread are prospective students, so if you can't do little research before you get there, how will you get your assignments and all done please?
Secondly some people don't even make any attempt to read, all they do is come here ask questions and expect swft answers.
In as much as we are here to learn from eachother, we should try to atleast have an idea of what we want before asking questions.
How can you ask people to suggest schools for u for christsakes?
asking for suggestions isn't bad pls. Fine there DLIs per province on the cic website but sumtims people prefer to ask from fellow nigerians. There are a lot of schools, and one might just want ideas based on past experiences. I doubt if anyone will come here to ask any question without doing a little research.

It sounds embarrassing and immature with the way and how the new folks here keep answering newbies. If everyone from the previous parts of the thread were like you guys only God knows which direction the thread would be headed by now. If you have an answer to give to someone regarding a question kindly say it, even if you want them to use google kindly explain to them and stop the way and how you keep feeling on top of the world. Those who are even asking you the question(s) may get a TRV before you. And if you know you don't know the answer which I know 90% don't, then keep mute rather than display your mosquito maturity on here. It's good if they read up, yes. But not every one has got the time. So please stop using your attitude to drive people away, it's unkind. I know some of you would wanna take shots at me, I ain't Jesus, I'm coming right back at you.
Thanks for this really! I also complained about this but definitely It was as if I was overreacting. The time I'll use to type and refer to previous pages, if I no d answer I will simply give it. Simply lend a hand when u can, some answers are given arrogantly,I know we will get trv, and wen I do by his grace, I will make sure I help! and sincerely mayb newbies should create another thread, its good to be looked down or ignored, it will force the best out. Rather than been insulted, I will rather do all I can and leave it to God. This is d type of attitude Nigerians have , helping others is made a big deal, and even fellow nigerians won't even want easy start for others. Before u yab me o, av read a lot of posts abt nigerians not willing to help in canada. Newbies biko it might take time but with persistent and prayer, we will get dere.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Funto900: 6:42am On Mar 21, 2015
In as much as this thread can be helpful, we shouldn't make others that are just starting or don't have experience feel bad. If u have an answer to the questions asked, answer and move on, it wouldn't take anything from u, sometimes one is been referred to read all the previous thread just to get information( that's reading 500 pages line by line from part 1 to 6) common that's not fair(in my opinion). Before u attack me, I read the threads for 3weeks and am still reading. But not every one will not be able to do that. I had a lot of questions but I see the harsh responses, so instead I go to canada visa forum. Before anyone attacks me, I am just saying what I feel(my opinion), I may be wrong. Pls let's try to help others if we can and remember d people just starting today might be needed one day too.

What program are you both going for?How relevant is it to what both of you are doing presently?
Both of you can apply together in my opinion though your SOP must really make sense and you must be convincing on your plans.
yes d courses r relevant

Good job on this forum, my name is shittu ola. I av been checking nairaland for years (lol) thread travel forum carefully. Av read sucess stories and this has informed my decision to give canada a short this sept. I am awaiting my admissn letter . I read the previous thread so I won't be asking repetitive questions. My wife will also be applying to seneca college, (I feel she shud apply to same school as mine, so we cud save cost). My course duration is 10months while hers is 15months. Her dad wants to co sponsor her while she sponsors herself. While I can sponsor my self and also back up with family poultry business as home tie. Fast forward, my main question is should we apply together, or I apply first and she applies immediately after. Or if she applies as my dependant and says she wants to study?. We can both provide financial funds independently. Pls I need advise, promise I won't ask repetitive questions (lol).
u people please na, am begging u, am on my knees biko na. Help a brother.

So here's the deal, its easier for one of you to apply first, leaving the other as the home tie. I suggest your wife goes first, then you can join her after a while. Both of you applying suggests that you want to abscond u get?
but how will I be able to join her, is it as a student or as a visitor? I also want to study?

Hello,
I'm no expert but do answer this question sincerely, do you both really want to study or the main goal is to migrate?
sincerely hen, we want to study, we both don't have masters, and wev been working for like 5years each, and if we get opportunity dere why not?. I have one year study leave permit from office ( with pay for the 1st 3months and if my study exceeds 3mths, then 9months with basic alone).
