I think ascribing the position to Kanye was a publicity stunt because he's into the showbiz. The truth is always constant. Kudos Mr. Smith |
Odd world. Many humans cannever enjoy in a lifetime what this dogs enjoy in a year This is humanity at it's lowest ebb! |

Breaking: Former France President, Sarkozy, Sentenced To Jail By LagosCityReporters -March 1, 2021047 FacebookTwitterWhatsAppShare A Paris court on Monday found French former President Nicolas Sarkozy guilty of corruption and influence peddling and sentenced him to one year in prison and a two-year suspended sentence. The 66-year-old politician, who was president from 2007 to 2012, was convicted for having tried to illegally obtain information from a senior magistrate in 2014 about a legal action in which he was involved. The court said Sarkozy is entitled to request to be detained at home with an electronic bracelet. This is the first time in France’s modern history that a former president has been convicted of corruption. Sarkozy’s co-defendants — his lawyer and longtime friend Thierry Herzog, 65, and now-retired magistrate Gilbert Azibert, 74 — were also found guilty and given the same sentence as the politician. The court found that Sarkozy and his co-defendants sealed a “pact of corruption,” based on “consistent and serious evidence”. The court said the facts were “particularly serious” given that they were committed by a former president who used his status to help a magistrate who had served his personal interest. In addition, as a lawyer by training, he was “perfectly informed” about committing an illegal action, the court said. Sarkozy had firmly denied all the allegations against him during the 10-day trial that took place at the end of last year. The corruption trial focused on phone conversations that took place in February 2014. At the time, investigative judges had launched an inquiry into the financing of the 2007 presidential campaign. During the investigation they incidentally discovered that Sarkozy and Herzog were communicating via secret mobile phones registered to the alias “Paul Bismuth.” Conversations wiretapped on these phones led prosecutors to suspect Sarkozy and Herzog of promising Azibert a job in Monaco in exchange for leaking information about another legal case, known by the name of France’s richest woman, L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt. In one of these phone calls with Herzog, Sarkozy said of Azibert : “I’ll make him move up … I’ll help him.” In another, Herzog reminded Sarkozy to “say a word” for Azibert during a trip to Monaco. Legal proceedings against Sarkozy have been dropped in the Bettencourt case. Azibert never got the Monaco job. Prosecutors have concluded, however, that the “clearly stated promise” constitutes in itself a corruption offense under French law, even if the promise wasn’t fulfilled. Sarkozy vigorously denied any malicious intention. He told the court that his political life was all about “giving (people) a little help. That all it is, a little help,” he said during the trial. The confidentiality of communications between a lawyer and his client was a major point of contention in the trial. “You have in front of you a man of whom more that 3,700 private conversations have been wiretapped… What did I do to deserve that?” Sarkozy said during the trial. Sarkozy’s defense lawyer, Jacqueline Laffont, argued the whole case was based on “small talk” between a lawyer and his client. The court concluded that the use of wiretapped conversations was legal as long as they helped show evidence of corruption-related offenses. Sarkozy withdrew from active politics after failing to be chosen as his conservative party’s presidential candidate for France’s 2017 election, won by Emmanuel Macron. He remains very popular amid right-wing voters, however, and plays a major role behind the scenes, including through maintaining a relationship with Macron, whom he is said to advise on certain topics. His memoirs published last year, “The Time of Storms,” was a bestseller for weeks. Sarkozy will face another trial later this month along with 13 other people on charges of illegal financing of his 2012 presidential campaign. His conservative party is suspected of having spent 42.8 million euros ($50.7 million), almost twice the maximum authorized, to finance the campaign, which ended in victory for Socialist rival Francois Hollande. In another investigation opened in 2013, Sarkozy is accused of having taken millions from then-Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi to illegally finance his 2007 campaign. He was handed preliminary charges of passive corruption, illegal campaign financing, concealment of stolen assets from Libya and criminal association. He has denied wrongdoing. These happenings are not ordinary. "A good business man must know how to read the signs of times" says a wiseman These unfortunate and cascading trend of events points to certain directions, two directions, 1. the government is scared of the bandits whom we understand are mercenaries, or 2. there is a grand plan to use these as a smokescreen for something more sinister to come. If with all the resources at the President's disposal he cannot safeguard lives and properties, then there is certain doom courting the nation. Even the governors with alarming security votes, we should be seriously worried. I just read the following post by someone from somewhere about Nigeria. The President was informed. The information got to him at 11:00pm on that fateful day. He placed a call to the Deputy Governor of the State and told him tersely "... if by 10am the next morning, your sons in the Niger Delta do not release the hostages, grass shall not grow in that Region for the remaining part of my four years Presidency.. " The deputy Governor went into the creeks that night to negotiate the release of the hostages. They were released at 9:00am the next day. They were Italians, British and French. That President was Olusegun Obasanjo. That deputy Governor was Goodluck Jonathan. His boss, Gov. Diepreye Solomon Peters Alamieyesiegha was not in the country. The State is Bayelsa State. Power is called Power because it dictates strong leadership, and purposeful direction. Not what is going on at this PMB's Government? No strong leadership and political will... Just leadership by press statements. |

Thank God for His mercies. |
MaxInDHouse:The only source of our hope in Christ and His return is in the infallible scriptures which has been miraculous preserved for thousands of years, against all odds and threats of it annihilation. The Bible is succinct about the coming of Christ and it's undisputable as other foretold events we have today. Sir, if you do not have an encounter, a personal encounter in accordance to the word of God, you cannever fathom the meaning of grace, neither can you explain the depths of its meaning, this is because the letter kills and the spirit gives life. The scriptures and experiences in the spirit are in perfect harmony. Do not forget, where there is original teaching, fake teachings abound. That is why Christian experiences are personal. You would be empowered to decipher fake from original |
Nope! If you are to affirm integrity, it make sense to demonstrate it in keeping to your words and the oaths you take in the public square. In the days of our forebears gone by, oaths are not even written down and men keep them. This is integrity. Buhari's morality and soundness of character has been tested in the following areas and he has failed: 1. He could not keep to his very words; "I belong to nobody" But he's now a Fulani president for the Fulanis all over West Africa and subregions where Fulanis are found 2. He is full of nepotism and has never disguised that. I need not explain how he thinks all appointments must go to the Fulanis 3. As a general, insurgency has conquered him; he has severally accepted defeat in the face of Boko Haram's, bandits' and herdsmens' cruel slaughter of his helpless citizens. He even disarmed the citizens by asking us to return our guns and licences but terrorists roam free with sophisticated AK-47 4. He shows no sympathy for the unlucky in IDP camps in Nigeria, yet he saves face by being a merciful African leader abroad. 5. He's known as an anticorruption Czar, yet under him, corruptive tendencies and manifestations can never be compared to any.before him. And many more... |
Hmmn....this might not be it....it might have been averted already because the tone of that prophecy is international in nature. |
A time to be born, a time to die... Their time came and they deserve peace. May the Almighty in His infinite wisdom and mercy accept their souls with grace. May He comfort the bereaved. May He gracefully alleviate their pains. Rip to the dead |
No way! I did one for my late dad a few years back. The lawyer wrote a letter of introduction for me to take to the probate office. This was in Kogi State. The probate officer who happens to be a magistrate told me I never needed any letter from my lawyers. Once I had the affidavit of next of kin, he directed me to a bank to make payments and then fill forms in his office. He was a good man. I got my letter Inna few months later. And got my dad's gratuity in my bank account after fulfilling all righteousness at the pensions office. Pls go to your home state, make enquiry at the State high court probate office and be happy. I hope this helps. |

MaxInDHouse:The manner of His coming is clearly stated bro and the surrounding circumstances aptly foretold. We know who we are expecting because we have experienced Him by being born again and having constant fellowship with him in the spirit. When He appears, He won't be an alien because we are used to His presence. Academic knowledge or dexterity of letter interpretation or lack of signs of times can never be our guide, but the Spirit. So, we know Him. When He shall appear we shall be like Him. Join us pls. God bless you Maranatha! |
Come, Lord Jesus! We await you |
You have stated obvious facts. Like you said, it's a lamentation. As Nigerians home and abroad, everywhere under God's sun, we are sadly burdened with the unfortunate situation that has lingered for so long, but have we paused to or can we just begin to think out of the current box, this quagmire and international opprobrium, and see how individuals can make a difference? Cesspool of corruption, inept political and moral leadership, passive followership and we expect a change? We need constant national orientation and re-orientation. The almajeri system is a Fulanic design orchestrated to perpetuate the helpless Hausas in perpetual ignorance and eternal servitude to their emirate. Let's fight the battle against all these militating vices in the mind. Raise our voices. Join politics actively at the grassroots, then we can effect a handsome change. It's a cycle bro, a wheel. And it's been painfully spinning for too long. We have to break this evil wheel, cos you can't continue to do something the same way and expect different result. Ko le werk! Thanks for the lamentation, but hey, enough! Let's act while our minds are still strong and bodies still firm. Join the process of emancipation. It starts with you! And me. And them |
It's a pity the North is stealthy creating a monstrous foe in the nation. The South West is openly bracing against the Northern scheme, but unfortunately, bootlickers in the entire South East are yet yet to wake up from their slumber. Let's make no mistake about one thing, war is hell. Read about Rwanda, Congo and Liberia. Modern warfare in waged in the minds. Only thinkers win. Let everyone think, and win in face of these sponsored aggressors Buhari's silence is eerie and loud. It's a criminal assent to chaos considering all the resources available to a Commander in Chief. So sad the instruments of the state is indirectly being used to terrorise the helpless. Karma must act! |
There seems to be a general fear amongst the governors. Governors who swore to uphold the Constitution by engaging state's resources to safeguard lives and properties seems helpless when these challenges present themselves. We begin to wonder why? 1. Policing is controlled centrally, hence the CPs cannot act without taking orders from Abuja. 2. Many governors don't want to offend the president because their next move, ambitions depends on support from Abuja 3. Brave governors like the Benue has been ostracized because of the ban on open grazing. 4. The president is the grand patron of the Fulani herdsmen umbrella association. It's a sour situation! Only the brave can withstand the storm bro |
We remember so well this injustice. It must not go unvisited. The fact that they work for you and things went wrong does not mean you dehumanise fellow human beings in such degradable manner. Stripping them naked and posting the pictures online. It's called revenge pornography! May this never be carpeted like many other cases in the land. |
What a shame! A sham! A charade! Any trained military or paramilitary personnel that cannot do this simple task less than 20 seconds is not fit for the force. Moreover, it should be done on a desk and not on the floor. It's one of those reasons we attract cruel criticism from other nations. Kudos to the winner |
Adieu papa! Jakande's legacy still endure! In his time he gave us classrooms, he served us real food. His enemies termed the classrooms "poultry" but hey, we were forged in those humble huts, our destinies were molded. Today, we are men and women of intellect and rare substances because of your discretion and milk of kindness. I remember in the early 80s while I was in pry 2 and 3. We had good teachers. The syllabus was strictly adhered to. Education was so good. Growing into adulthood, I later knew the Ajah road LCC recently upgraded was constructed by him. The day I met you at the airport was a day I won't forget. Gentle and angelic. Our gaze met. I felt an immortal grace, and it left a mark. Thanks for giving us Lagos. You already wrote your epitaph with celestial ink, on stones so precious. Thank you Baba Kekere! |
All men must die. We are only remembered by what we have done. Live well peeps |
Someone should be bold to call for Buhari to resign or be impeached. If a President cannot guarantee the security of lives and properties, then, he should shamefully bow out |
Lord have mercy |
It depends on the lyrics. Philosophy and encouragements are not bad |
Word! Just ask him one simple question! |
What a waste! |
