Skyfornia: This piece is emotional...OP I feel your pain, I'll feel worse if I were in your position. But I have to save my marriage...don't stretch this anymore since your wife has shown remorse. Her actions might be influenced by her family and she thought she was doing right...forgive her and try to forget it
Going forward, sit with her and factorize what each of you should be spending at home. It can be 70-30 ratio or 60-40 ratio, with you taking care of the lion share...you are the man of the house and It is your duty as a man to protect your family from any force..even if the force is coming from your wife. Don't allow it tear your family.
I wish you luck! brilliant advice...nice one sir |

JustMellow: Hello Futureukstudent,
It was thought too far. If what you said was rhe case, a PFL would have been sent. Since, she didn't receive the letter, then it is far from it.
It is advised that in the reapplication, her uncle should still be left out. She should address the refusal reasons from both her side and that of her sponsor.
She should do well to request for her notes.
Best of Luck (to your sister) alright thank you |

Inform your sister to request for her notes and reapply, except other substantial plans became too rigid to push aside.
Best of Luck (to your sister) oh ok thanks...other plans came up like I said and wasn't really interested in it anymore. She was only worried about bwhat they mean by Canadian family ties. |

Frankrobbn1: Having an uncle who is resident in Canada does not in anyway have a connection with her refusal based on family ties in Canada. As a matter of fact, in the Canadian immigration context, what they meant by a family member is a close relative e.g Spouse, Kids or parents. In view of the foregoing, she stating in her application that she doesn't have any family member in Canada is absolutely correct and has not misrepresentated according to subsection 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. I don't think its reasonable to state that she didn't know her uncle had moved to Canada at the time of applying for visa because this is far from her previous refusal. She should be more concerned about demonstrating to the visa officer that is well-established in Nigeria and would depart Canada after the authorized period of her stay.
I hope this information satisfies your enquiry.
It will end in praise yes it does...thank you very much I really appreciate |

Frankrobbn1: Family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
Far too many times, prospective international students who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before being given a visa to study in Canada. Please be advised that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So, its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you should do :
Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home after studies?
1. Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind? 2. Do you have elderly parents who depend on you? 3. Do you own registered businesses/property that you need to continue managing after studies? 4. Do you have adequate funds? 5. Do you have family members whom are not accompanying you to Canada?
If you've any of the enumerated points, explain in detail their importance to you and how they would induce your return home after studies.
I hope this information satisfies your inquiry.
It will end in praise thank you very much for this explanation...what happened was that after getting the refusal letter, we heard that we have a uncle that went from Usa to Canada and had put down my mom's address as his relative contact address. So we thought probably their system picked it up and mayb denied her based on the fact that she didn't mention it on her application that she has a family in Canada. And my uncle immigration lawyer adviced that she should complain to that effect that she didn't know her uncle had moved to Canada at the time of applying for visa so that it won't affect any of her future visa application to Canada (thinking that she lied about not having any relation in Canada) |

Hello guys, my sister got a visa denial this week. But that is not the main issue, cos she was not really interested in it anymore(other plans came up) the issue now is that one of the reason given in her denial was that they are not satisfied that she will leave Canada cos of her family tie in Canada and her home country (Nigeria). What do they mean by family tie in Canada because she never sa

id she had any family in canada.

Phenmeson: PSW of 2yrs count in the 10yrs stay when granting ILR as far he/she is not exceeding the absence number of days spent outside the country on yearly basis during the 10yrs stay. was that what the article says? Or you just assume that it should. Anyways my point is you all better make your findings well and be sure about your decision by taking drastic step like selling your house. My thought is you should leave something to fall back to incase things doesnt work out |
