FreeStuffsNG: Tens of thousands of people for a whole year you say? That's even less than the number of people inside University of Lagos( UNILAG) Akọka campus alone or Bodija market in Ibadan on a normal day yet it doesn't take this kind of multi-billion gigantic infrastructure.
For the same ifs you raised, you don’t need to spend these billions and destroy a lot of the ecosystem and the natural barriers against flooding of those small settlements that sometimes have less than 100 residents who are mostly poor fishermen.
It is this kind of projects that the minority tribes in Alaska have fought against for decades. Oil companies operations platforms are not usually next to the settlements but this road will even after many of the settlements have been destroyed for the road they don't need for survival. Kuku say they built road for oil workers Dont be so myopic. it doesnt suit you. speak on matter you know something about and not on something you know nothing about. Are you aware that NLNG is one of the financial of that project. Is Nlng making its money in your so called Lagos or in Bonny. and do you know how much it cost NLNG monthly just to Run its boat services between Port harcourt and Bonny. Mind you it boats services only carries Personnel and some goods. If you su that amount for a year it might cover up to half this project cost and they have been running that boat service without fail for 20 years. |

It was hospital in her area (Bwari), that declared her dead. what made you think there were other hospitals that rejected her in her area because of police report? This person an officer and her ID could pass for a police report. Or a call from a senior officer could have helped her.
Stop making our hospitals and Doctors look wicked!!! I have taken seriously wound people to hospital and they were given emergency treatment even before payments were being made.
My own is, don't swallow everything you read online hook and line Oga, your imagination will not ruin you I sear. The article said and eyewitness, who were the people who rushed her to the hospital, said she was rejected by several hospitals due to a Police report of something, and you, living on the front page of Nairaland, is claiming otherwise and saying I should believe in your imagination. Waoohh just Waoohh. You are saying you rushed injured people to the hospital, were those injuries as bad as this woman's own? he injury could pass normal eyes as a gang attack or something. What if the police decided to harass the doctors, saying they treated someone who they were on her trail for ganag fighting. I can easily reply on my own imagination and be a patriotic citizen too to say, no body was stabbed and also no body died anywhere in Bwari. do not belive everything you read online simple. This is how government build huge expensive projects that will be underutilized . This guy's comment is something else. I do not know why humans are so wicked. I don't think he has ever been to Bonny before, because if he has, he won't be saying all this rubbish. The road will bring more development into the place. So you believe Victoria Island and Lekki are more important than Bonny. Those are islands off Lagos, and Bonny is an Island off Rivers State. And the difference between Lekki and Bonny is that Bonny generates far more money for Nigeria than Lekki and Victoria Island. |

franchasng: I know you watched a lot of Nollywood movies.
Nollywood really made you guys to have a very poor and wrong understanding and orientation about Igbos. Most of the nonsense and negative things some of you talk or believe about Igbos it's mostly formed from watching Nollywood movies of the past because most Nollywood movies were acted based on Igbo culture since most of the producers and actors back then were Igbos. Unfortunately for you guys, I use to write movie scripts and some if not most of the movie scripts were created from the writer's imagination and creative thinking, not necessarily the reality Oga don't use that Nollywood lies. Truth is I have stayed in igbo land for years and a lot of my male friends are igbos. During when they were ready to get married, this is exactly what happened that I have stated. So I decided to take a sampling of each of them. My best man during my marriage is an Igbo guy, although he married another tribe, but that was because he didn't grow up in the east, and if you see hi,m he doesn't behave like a typical Igbo, he is someone with a open mind. but you see the other of my friends more than 10 of them that was the case. there was one who wanted to marry another tribe girl. He told me his mother will cry for him anytime he mentions that girls name and finally, he went to his village to marry. And funny enough the village girl he married which his mother hand-picked for him, is not in talking terms with his mother. They do not call each other year in year out. They had a big quarrel, like a year into their marriage. One was even telling me the reason he cannot marry a non-Igbo girl is that if they are at home together, which language will they be using to communicate? |

iHart: Nigeria that somebody will have accident and nobody will want to help you because of police wahala? How prompt were they to rush the victim to hospital? You dey talk like you no sabi your country. No, don't believe everything they post online!!! Oga, think deep and stop making assumptions from your own reasoning, because you have already programmed your mind on something, and even right now, you are contradicting yourself. If you really want to play the role of a doubting Thomas, please do it with facts and evidence. Your first fact above about people being afraid to rush accident victims to the hospital because of fear of police whahala, you are right. But then in the first instance, why fear police wahala when you are in the process of helping save a life, and you think those doctors are not also afraid to admit this woman due to fear of police wahala. Why I will say this is not the case for the people who rushed this woman to the hospital is because this incident happened in her area outside her gate, so the people around at that time know her very well, and they will not hesitate to rush her to the hospital. So you think if an accident happens in your area where they know you, the residents there will be scared of police wahala instead of rushing you to the hospital. Think again, my friend. Stop making excuses for these wicked police officers, as they are not worth it. In a sane society, no one would be scared of rushing an accident victim to the hospital all because of police wahala. That means the police do not encourage such. |

I almost married a Fulani girl if not that I was still struggling financially then and didn't have the confidence to marry then and she was so ready and waiting, I had to let her go because I was so scared to marry as a broke young man.

okoloto: Marrying into a family that you are not accepted or loved is a time bomb. You will never have peace. But most times, the hate is out of bad character that the wife in question doesn't see as bad. It's rare for a family to hate a good wife. What about the bad character of the man's family? His mother doesn't have bad character, his siblings don't have bad character, but only his wife has bad character. They play, you hear just dey play. When you grow up, I pray you don't find yourself or someone you love in this kind of situation. No matter how good the person is to the family, they will still hate you; they will turn your good into bad. Especially in this part of the world, Africa, where we are actively looking for the slightest sin or wrongdoing, angels are looking for the slightest act of purity from the devil, so we can amplify it and use it to judge their entire being. It may shock you that bad wives who are sensible last longer in this kind of marriage than the good ones. thatigboman: very true. i know a couple that went home for introductions. the man's family refused because the man is from Anambra while the woman is from imo. They didn't marry. And this is how to want to have their Biafra so they can go about hating themselves and becoming tribalistic towards themselves. You are very correct because I have an Igbo friend who similar stuff happened to. He is from Imo, while his wife is from Annambea. His father-in-law said he cannot allow him to marry his daughter, the guy went behind to get the girl pregnant because of love, still father-in-law insisted that he is looking for another child and still will not allow him to marry his daughter. After series of begging from the guy to all the girls family members and assistance from the girl as well the father inlaw decided to bulge. Another of my friend he is from Abia while the girl is from IMO state, his long-time friend he told me he wants to get married together, when he met the girls father he refused to get her married to him, he even went with his people, and they were denied marriage. Thank God guy man had a second option girlfriend whom he finally decided to marry. |

Most of you are just so selfish and lack every form of human sympathy. franchasng: The reason the man's mother didn't want you is not because you are from Anambra while they are from Enugu You really do not know Igbo women. Most of my friends are igbo and I can tell you these for a fact, I have even had this conversion with a lot of igbo guys are I even sampled more than 10 of my colleagues who are igbo and trust me 9 out of that 10 got married to woman from the same village as them and the truth is their mother played a major role in making that marriage happen. And these men at some point before they got married to their village wives, were dating girls from other places. So it is an Igbo guy's thing. Those guys are extremely tribalistic. This is a fact, if you think it is a lie, just check out any Igbo guy around you who grew up in the southeast, if they are married, they most of the time picked their wives from their villages. |

tesseract: A major deception is thinking that if you marry into a family where they aren't unanimously in agreement with your marriage to their son or daughter, is that they will eventually come around to liking you. If they didn't like you in the beginning, they can't and will not like you in the long run, nothing you do will ever be enough for them. Have some self-esteem, refuse desperation, and move on and away in order to avoid a lifetime of unending battles with your in-laws. Sometimes your advice is not right. Because the woman is not marrying the family, the most important thing is for her to know the type of man you gets into that kind of marriage with. If he is the mummy's boy or a weakling before his family, then girl, I will advise you to run away. But if he is the opposite, I will advise you to stay and wicked that his family, just cut him off from his people, and you will leave a happy life. |

airsaylongcome: They don't need to call anything. The IGP, should write to all the health care providers, in his letter head, and hand-signed saying the Police will NEVER go to a medical practice to harass them when they take accident/gunshot/knife wound patients. He should, on documented police communication channels, radio EVERY police post, every Division and area command, that they MUST NOT go after any medical practice that treats these category of people. He should provide a means where any such harassment can be reported directly to him.
Police talk too much about medical practices not needing police report. It's like the way they also say bail is free. You're right, this is what the IGP needs to do, but unfortunately, they will never do it because they think it is of no benefit to them, until the citizens decide to protest, they will not do anything. very docile set of people.
