CrimeRe: NSCDC Officer, Blessing Akpan, Stabbed To Death In Front Of Her House In Abuja by fxexperts: 1:41pm On Jul 29, 2025
Shikena:
We have been telling you for years that we the people are the problem and the leaders are from among us.

A law was made yet we the people say no, it must be our way.

RIP to the dead as we the people continue to fool each other and twist our interpretation of a sane clime.
Were you people not around when the law was made? We all knew when this law was been made, and yet we all did nothing about it. Now it is biting us deeply. Trust me, the publicity before this law was made is much more than now when it was banned. And you know our police officer will always do what will put money in their pocket. If you carry an injured victim to them, to get the police report, you must pay money, and now that it was banned, it means no one will come to them again for their report, hence they will not make that money again. I can tell you for a fact those doctors are just scared because if they treat the victim with a police report and the police find out, they will come and harass the doctors and all the hospital staff, even arrest them and label them as accomplices in aiding armed robbers. They have been doing it and still doing it till today.

It sad how we keep going over this police report of a thing. The National Assembly has passed a Bill that allows hospitals to attend to gunshot injury and other life-threatening injuries whilst waiting for a police report. But Doctors and Hospitals are still rejecting patients..... I think the problem is not the system but the people; we are annoyingly strange in this part of the world.
Am not supporting this hospital and its staff. I would love to see them lose their license and possibly be sent to jail, but the truth is, Nigeria is a sick hole filled with leaders who are dumb and worse than cows. How can anyone make that kind of law in the first place? For one, you are not in those hospital shoes to know the ordeal they have been through with the Nigerian police in the past when they attended to gunshot victims without a police report. I heard police used to harass them, lock them up, and even extort huge sums of money from them all because they tried to save lives. Even these NSCDC people are not innocent either; only God knows this woman may have harassed hospitals in the past for this same kind of stuff. Now she is a victim of the wicked law she most likely promoted.

b3llo:
May God rest her soul.

The Police have cancelled the presentation of the Police report before admitting or treating gunshot wounds or knife stabbing.
But a lot of police men will still be using it to extort innocent hospitals who just want to save lives. You don't know how Nigeria is again. The court just ban FRSC from confiscating people's driver's licenses,s but you will still see a lot of FRSC people still seizing people's driver's licenses.
The CRM police extract the court vacated sometime ago, are police officers not still using it to extort police from drivers?
The best thing in this country is for lawmakers to think hard before passing any bill into law, because our police officers always like enforcing laws that will put money in their pockets. When that useless lawmaker was chasing this bill in the National Assembly that year ,I was one of those people criticizing the bill and the untold death it would bring to Nigerians, but no one heard my voice,e so many useless citizens supported it, and now it is like a bone in our neck.

Well, not if he Japa. Doctors could make as much as $700k ( 1 billion naira) per annum in the US.
In which planet, please? And when have doctors become footballers to earn that much amount of money?

Skydivine:
He is already a doctor. That is the hardest part. Even during residency, they still get paid up to 100k per annum
And you think it is easy to Japa now, so you are advising all the doctorss in Nigeria to japa. so what is the difference with what this guy just did? he has ran away from the profession to bbnaija house.

yemmit90:
A good doctor will never thought of spending his time watching BBN, let alone participate in it.

He is probably one of the poor trained doctors that are killing people with wrong medical treatments at Teaching hospitals. Reason many rich people and politicians don't believe in them.

Wake up to reality bros. No serious practitioner would do this. He doesn't have passion for his job. This is why everything about Nigeria is mediocre. Y'all keep giving room to mediocrity.
Passion for what? Will he use passion to feed his family, or will passion pay his children's school fees? Trust me bro this is the reality, passion for any job is dead. It is all about the mulla now. I used to have a passion for the Engineering oil and gas job I was doing, and 15 years later, with nothing tangible to show for it. And mind you, in my profession, we get paid more than doctors in Nigeria. When the Recession and COVID came, the company screwed us over a 100 times. Obviously, the person who told you there is dignity in labour obviously lied to you. If you are not raking in millions of cash, then forget it, this is the world we are living in, it is all about the mulla, as no one, I repeat, no one will come to your aid when you are broke. Even your wife will abandon you. So leave this guy, let him chase the money. House rent now in the major cities is very expensive. A two-bedroom apartment in my area is about N2M annually. And doctors in Nigeria get paid an average of 300K monthly. So do you expect them to go live in batcher houses after the stressful day at the hospital doing surgery on patients? Think about it. When reality strikes you, passion for any job will fly out the window.

Foreign AffairsRe: US Is Accepting 'Gifts' Via Venmo, PayPal To Reduce $36.7 Trillion Debt by fxexperts: 11:26pm On Jul 27, 2025
PythonPro001:
I need answers to these questions:
1. Who exactly is the US owing this humongous sum of money ?
2. When and why did the US, a supposedly wealthy nation, borrow this money ?
3. If it is so important to pay off the debt, why isn't printing new dollars an option ?
They owe this money to banks, the Federal Reserve, and foreign investors. They never borrowed the money from anyone unlike Nigeria which goes to other countries to borrow money from. They borrowed this money by selling government bonds and treasury bills to investors. Upon maturity of the government bonds, the investors will have to collect their money. Hence, the reason Trump is crying he doesn't know how to run a government, so he is finding it difficult to pay back.

linearity:
This is not true, one; most of US debts are owe to entitles internal to the US, secondly; the US Federal Reserve Bank can mint a single coin and stamp a face value of $1 Trillion on it and that would be it's worth and because her debts are owe in dollars, they can use that single coin to pay it off. No need to print countless worthless papers money, because the legitimacy of the currency and it's value comes from the Federal Reserve and has nothing to do with the volume of papers printed.
You are damned wrong, I am sure it is people like you who advised Buhari and now look at the mess he has put us all in. Even if the US decides to print $1 trillion dollar bill or multiple paper bill, the value of the dollar wi go down, and inflation will rise which will in turn makes the dollar worthless against other currencies even the naira will move up against the dollar. it is just a simple law of supply and demand. when you have abundance of any currency even the dollar in circulation the value will eventually go down.
Foreign AffairsRe: US Is Accepting 'Gifts' Via Venmo, PayPal To Reduce $36.7 Trillion Debt by fxexperts: 11:15pm On Jul 27, 2025
linearity:
The truth is, the so-called US debt is only big on paper.

US debts are in US currencies, and the US Central Bank if they wish can print dollars tomorrow to settle those debts.

It is unlike Nigeria and other Africa countries debts, which are majorly held in US dollars and which Nigeria can't print but must earn.

Lastly 80% of US debts are owe to the Public, and two-third of this, which is about 53% of the overall debts is owe to US entities likes the US Federal Reserve, US Mutual Funds, US States & Local Governments, US Pension Funds, US Insurance Companies, etc...

Since the US dollar is not tied to gold Reserves, the Federal Reserve is capable of printing enough dollars to write off these debts but they would not, just to keep the scheme going on.
You really don't understand how money works. you are right about them owing the pension scheme, Federal Reserve, and others, they can also raise funds by selling government bonds and others. The truth is, all governments in this world are running a debt scheme. And secondly they cannot just print excess dollar without causing inflation, which in turn will cause the value of the dollar to reduce like we are experiencing with the naira currently. so this debt in question is a debt the US government is owing its own Federal Reserve, which is like its CBN.

kbzeeinyang:
So they use to come all acting like they don't borrow money. Omoh e don dey clear now!
You know nothing about money and how it works.

humberjade:
Trump nah renowned scammer. grin

After all the current inflation and taxes ordianary citizens pay to the govt, you still want them to cough out more. I am sure more than half of that debt was used to fund wars and coup that doesn't concern them.

You should have thought deeply about that before cutting tax for the billionaires.
You are very wrong, maybe Trump is dumb and doesn't know how to raise funds from the government, maybe he is so bad an economist he doesn't know how to run a country's economy. Otherwise, he would have known how to generate money to run his government by selling bonds and other government treasury bills.

Its not every kids, that is why the government should reposition the system to catch the cheaters, for crying out loud there are exams to be written for kids to gain admission into secondary school and university. Because the government and the system have failed due to exam malpractice, the government wants to drag everyone else back with its backward policies. Just because their are thieves in Nigeria is not a reason for the government to say every Nigerian should be sent to prison for 6 months. If the child is not extra brilliant then that child should fail the exams and in turn cannot get into secondary school. This is pure laziness on the part of the education ministry; instead of them to look for ways to curb exam malpractices, they are busy chasing shadows. And you think by doing this automatically exam malpractices will stop. Or because a student is of the right age, then no need to write the exams; they will be admitted immediately, or it's okay for them to cheat and graduate.

Parents are running a rat race with their kids cost of education is crazy
That is not the reason, I can tell you for a fact that parents these days are spending extra on extra moral lesson to ensure their kids get through school with high grades, In my office I have a colleasgue who earns the same salry as myself who doesn't care about his children education as a matter of fact he sent them to the cheapest private shool in their area, when i told him thee amount I pay for my kids per term in Primary school he shouted, because that amount will pay his own daughter fess for 2 years stariaght and the worst part is that I still got extra moral lesson for my kids during holidays and also after close of school he shouted again that i am waisting money. so you expect that colleague's child to have the same intelligence as mine. ne day he say a video my 5 year old daughter sent to me and he asked how old was she and I told him then he said she is the same age as his daughter and that how can she can speak so talk and hold conversation so well, that she has a sharp mouth, I just told him that is my money talking. So don't say parents don't spend money, maybe you or yours are running away from the cost, but a lot are spending more to make sure they have brilliant kids.

That is a different matter altogether, have you not seen a 14-year-old still in primary 4 that cannot spell his or her name? Keep deceiving yourself, you hear. Let them fix the malpractice system in schools and not turning around to limit the growth of kids without fixing the root cause of the problem. That is total laziness and madness on their part. So you want someone like me who sent my kids to the best private school in the country and still pays home tutors extra to tutor them to be world-class, you want to compare a dull child who went to some cheap government school to have the same development program like mine.
