tosyne2much:Yes boss. Me greet you more. |
nigeriancuban:protest is not always the best resort, if universities union can come together nd have our demands written across to the appropriate authority, then things will change. |
Hmmmmmm |
Good one. # one day # |
ademipeju:Determination to effect change are often tagged as stubbornness. |
ademipeju:The fear of facing the worse often make us forget that the worst started from been good and can still change back. We have over 80plus universities if let say 40 can join hands to say no to this, then bothering about the corrupt union will be put aside. |
ademipeju: This is a call-out to universities’ student union government, let us unite and eradicate this cankerworm eating deep into the education sector. Who says it’s not possible? Somebody lied! The above will do. |
ademipeju:are you then saying that olorun will come down to gbawa? Don't understand you peju ![]() |
ademipeju:most? Using most then that presupposes there is exception right? Which? .. .. To me it's All.. ... |
A promising, God loving and talented young lady, Oluchi Anekwe, a 300 level accounting student of the university of Lagos who was electrocuted right on campus on the 8th of September 2015, Oluchi had everything going well for her at barely 22, an age which she could have attained by December 5. She was on top of her social and academic life with an enviable grade and her dream of becoming a renowned investment banker was gradually taking shape. Not to talk much, such was her love for excellence before death knocked and left with her, leaving her lofty dreams in flames. So sad she would now be buried on the week she was meant to take her ICAN test. All these would have been avoided if not for some pitiable factors in the education sector of Nigeria. The above piece put tears on my eyes and sting my curiosity as to what and where the education sector of our dear nation is heading to. Is it into destruction? Taking as aide the lives of undergraduates? Now who is the rightful bearer of this? The Federal Government or school management? Who is to be blamed for sucking the blood of the education sector like a greedy vampire? The most disturbing aspect of this is that, the more the increase in school fees, the worse the welfare of the students. It kept me ruminating on how the combined force of federal government and school management gave the family of Anekwe some long faces, broken spirits and an atmosphere filled with grief. If the electronic cable had been taken into cognizance or properly fixed, would the event that led to the death occur? I refuse to believe the her death was predetermined by any extramental force, I would be right, pointing accusing fingers at at the federal government for not properly funding education and the school management for leaving the cables in such deadly state without attending to them. According to what I heard and read, this is not the first situation of nonchalant display of cables on the campus. Other universities are not also exempted, there are also such situtations left unattended to on OAU campus, hostels to be precise. With the way things are going, if care is not taken, federal universities will turn out to become a sort of abortion for bright futures. If undergraduates do not stand up to stop this trend, we might be hugging more occurrences. If we continue keeping mute without voicing out on the poor state of our hostels and school environs, we leave the “Monster” no alternative than to continue taking our colleagues. This is a call-out to universities’ student union government, let us unite and eradicate this cankerworm eating deep into the education sector. Who says it’s not possible? Somebody lied! http://www.eduregard.com/nigerian-education-sector-needs-attention-fynestboi/ |

ANGOLA MOURNS With heavy and sorrow baptised hearts, the Executive Council and the entirety of Angola hall announces the success of the icy hands of death and the sudden and untimely passage of our own OGUNLEYE SUNKANMI, a part 1 student of the department of international relations to the great beyond which occured on Tuesday 13th of October 2015 Sunkanmi untill his death was a very cool headed personality who always had the progress of his society a paramount priority, loved by all and easy going. "O death, where is thy sting? ; O grave where is your victory? " These are the only words we have to console and condole ourselves and also take solace in. SUNKANMI according to a source woke up on the morning of this fateful day bleeding from his nose and foaming from his mouth, was staggering, and was then rushed to Oauth, where he kept struggling. He couldnt be held...& despite being tied hands and legs to the bed, he kept struggling. He finally got tired, couldnt breath and then had oxygen placed on him. The Doctor, checked his pulse and finally, his heart stopped beating. It was unbelievable... Sunkanmi had earlier called his family at home to inform them of his intended departure from school and arrival at home after his last paper REL 101 which he was meant to write on this fateful morning but was unable to neither write the examination nor return to his family alive. We pray and ask the fortitude to bear this great loss for both his family and the entire GREAT IFE community as a whole. MAY HIS SOUL AND SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD REST IN PEACE. AMEN!! A condolence register will be opened next semester at ANGOLA hall which will be followed by a candle light procession. SIGNED: ESAN ADEDAPO (GENERAL SECRETARY) for the Angola hall executive council |

A certain Sunkanmi, a part one student of Inter Rel., just lost his life yesterday. According to a source.... He was staggering, and was then rushed to health centre, where he fainted...and then didnt regain consciousness. He was rushed to Oauth, and kept struggling. He couldnt be held...& despite being tied hands and legs to the bed, he kept struggling. He was bleeding internally, blood was coming out from his nose/mouth...and it was sucked out. He kept struggling with an unknown something, saying please and begging for whatever it was. He finally got tired, couldnt breath and then had oxygen placed on him. The Doctor, checked his pulse and finally, his heart stopped breathing. It was unbelievable... ...he was just begging for something people couldnt see. Big loss. #May his soul rest in peace

Yenagoa—A State High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has sentenced an accused person, Super Ojo, to 21 years in prison for raping a lady (name withheld). Super, popularly known as Bestman, said to be the leader of a cult group, “Bobos,” was sentenced at the State High Court 2, presided over by Justice Margaret Akpomiemie. The alleged cult leader and nine other members of his gang were said to have raped a lady at Akaba in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in 2011. Super was arraigned in the court in May 2014 on a four-count charge of conspiracy, rape, murder and membership of an unlawful group. The accused was alleged to have gone to the lady’s house with four other persons, dragged her out and forcibly took her to an uncompleted building in a bush where other members of his gang were waiting and raped her one after the other. The lady was said to have been blindfolded as she was being gang-raped and after the assault, was given a machete cut on her back. She was said to have been abandoned in the bush where a good samaritan rushed her to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, bleeding from her private part after the violent sexual assault. The lady was later transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja, for further treatment due to the degree of injury sustained and the attendant trauma. The victim of the gang rape, it was gathered, is still discharging from her vagina. Also the brother of the victim was said to have been murdered by members of the gang when he allegedly failed to heed their instruction to effect the release of a member arrested by the police. Delivering her judgement, Justice Akpomiemie said, having carefully studied the arguments of both the prosecution and defence counsels as well as the testimonies of the victim, she was convinced that the allegations against the accused had been proved beyond reasonable doubt by the prosecution with the exception of count three. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/man-jailed-21-years-for-rape/ |
