The association being formed is not compulsory for everybody, its just to foster unity among fish farmers nationwide.

On a second thought we have this thread and also Agricnetwork which I just noticed you are the MOD in the fish section, of which u can solve problem amongst fish farmers and foster unity with these mediums other than having your own faction. Let's be open to problem solving where people can read and re-read overtime.

Hello all, farmers little update on whats going on.
The whatsapp group has proposed to form a NATIONAL ASSOCIATION for fish farmers. We deliberated, argued, proposed different names and finally voted between this two names for the association:

(1) NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FISH FARMERS (NAFF)

(2) GRASSROOT FISH FARMERS ASSOCIATION(GROFFA)


At the end of the day, NAFF was chosen by the members.
Next point of action is to register the association with CAC ( both names will be presented to CAC with NAFF being our preferred choice) and to come up with a website.

I joined the group to communicate with fellow farmers but it's too early for personal aggrandizement with the forming of an association which will be based in Lagos.

So u feel what people are sharing is fabrication, u have to realise that the spiritual controls the physica.. let me tell u waht happened to me just two years back during my service year.. my first day at camp I was a little bit scared coz of the many bushes and all.. at night prayed a silent prayer for God's protection throughout my stay in camp..

I laid on my bed to sleep and closed my eyes, after just some seconds I opened my eyes just a bit an lo and behold I saw a tall white man standing at the corner of the room his hair was coiled, he looked at me and smiled then he waved his hands that was when I my eyes closed then suddenly I woke up back but alas he was gone, I wasn't scared coz I knew he was my Guardian angel.

I tell u what, with what I am seeing Agricnetwork is going places, the way u guys respond to questions is

ab1x: It is very easy to make fingerlings gather even in a very big pond. It is d'most simpliest of all if u know the right channel to go about it. Feeding at different corners will only cause disparity among ur fish and it can also lead to waste of feeds. For now, I make use of two methods, the first is the introduction of sound to give them notice that it is time to eat.


To do the above, get a keg and stick. Beat the keg several times before u feed them. Within the next 3 days, u will see that they will converge at a spot u feed them.

The second method is that u will need to get a net which most of us know as mosquito net, get a tailor to sow it for u into rectangle. You will now put big stone inside it and use stick to peg it into ur pond. You then use net that prevent predator to cover it at the top. That's'the latest method adopted of recent. It has succeded in killing a leftover fish in the pond and mouse. I can snap and upload d'picture 2mao.

robonski15: My fellow farmers and aspiring farmers fish business is no joke.. Its not what u toil with, its serious business.. Before u venture into it go and learn it practically.. Go to a good farm to see for youself.. Majority of people that claim to the business are thieves.. They have sugar coated mouth to lure people into it and take their money...

I had to sqeeze out time to write this little piece for aspiring and practising farmers..

I am not here to sell any manual,book or fingerlings and juvenile please.. Am here to answer any sort of question you need to know about catfish farming.. Simple, detailed, wonderful, good, extra ordinary, awesome splendid. Dis is wat I hv been wanting 2 hear 4 d past two years, don't tell me grammer dis is what I hv been seeking to read not all these useless manual with big big grammer. Its just as if I should start shedding tears, fish business has done me shege 4 two years now. This is really an eye opener. Nobody is willing to tell me anytin abt this business na so so manual I dey buy with big big grammer until I read this article I hv lost some cool cash in dis fish farming and eventually packed up, but reading this article I am thinking of dusting my cloths and go back.
