Estorico:
I also applied. Yet to receive invite from them. Please for those that applied with B.Sc and was called, what class of degree did they request for?
Class of degree is irrelevant, driving is irrelevant for now unless its a manager role in sales so u will be an Essential Car User. So over class of Degree n driving, don't bother.

NB, class of degree may be a silent yardstick.

Hi gabcity, I applied for the position of Retail sales manager (RSM) and I did all four stage @ d assesment centre (test, role play, presentation nd interview) after which I was asked to go to aa rescue for my driving test. But its been over a month naw and there is no word from Guinness yet. I am just worried.
ok....all is well. just be expectant. many of the sales managers were transfered to diff locations. i knw a guy transfered to Owerri last month, he may be your batch too
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Sales Executive At Guinness by gabscity(m): 9:00pm On Nov 09, 2014
@Emiabia, u may not nEed number, u can go to the Ikeja office ursef and request to see the contact person during the assessment. Or send an email. They will be good to respond to u.Guinness is a highly responsible company.

I was invited to the assesment centre for the position of RSM in sept and I did my driving test a week lata but was lata told to scan a cert of driving competence frm aa to them which I av done, but its been like 3 weeks naw and no feedback frm Guinness, I am getting a bit worried naw. Do u av a Guinness human resource's no? Tanks
Did u say RSM?

Did u do d driving test before or after the assessment center or after?

Bros how about the pay is it below or above 100k

wats d assessment centre all about. is it another test or interview
I refuse to talk about the pay, but really, u can't go wrong working with Guinness, consider less about the monthly basic. Anyway, I dunno where u are coming from. its a big privilege to work in Guinness. It was the best company to work in in Nig. In 2012.

The assessment is what a guy mentioned above, all the process is key and your cummulative score is what determines your chances. The key part is d Role play and presentation. The aptitude test was easy cos the assessment center is more key in determining your competence. U need to prepare hard for it. God will see us all through...

I also got a Sucxess mail for the assessments stage tomorrow...please I don't know how to drive at all, do I still have a chance and how much is the salary for Sals Executive position? I heard the job may not be in Lagos
so, how was the assessment center?, driving is not relevant for now, but essential for RDM role

I jst heard an unconfirmed report that the work days is from Monday to Saturday and the pay is below 100k...
u actually do not need to consider that too much, as a sales executive for guinness, u may even need to work sundays. but ur overtime will be duely calculated and u will later enjoy it. in fact u may need to work beyond 5pm daily, ur overtime will also be calculated and paid.

and remember, its an entry route to RDM(Regional Distribution Manager). so, really, u may ignore the pay for now, u will enjoy it soonest.

angelo82: Yeah I mean FGN Bond and they have 3,5,7 and 10 years series of Bond and the rates are good too but even at that before you can get involve in any Bond you must wait until after 2015 election to see how stable the government is…..You don't have to fear because money to pay the bond is always included in the budget and backed by law….Its good to be very careful when you are going to invest your money,so you need to scrutinize everything very well. Can you believe that I was offered 12.5% by Investment One but I don't feel good with it and I went for 10% with a bank that I am very familiar with….So risk is a serious factor to consider in anything but FGN Bond is secure but the political factor is the problem for investors right now….
thats y i dont wanna do dia KGIF with my tashere hard earned money. assuring me 12% when we all knw rates fluctuate. i dnt want that ooo.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 11:11pm On Aug 30, 2014
ernie4life: we have a KGIF FAQ that will address all your questions, it's in pdf format so I can't post it here give me your mail so I can send it to you to read through. both your principal and APY is guaranteed if you redeem your investment at maturity but if you redeem it before maturity your principal is still guaranteed but we charge 10% on the income of the investment. buying and selling Ok KGIF is at one(1) naira per unit. you can redeem part of your investment so long as you still have 50k+ left in the investment.
Ok, thanks a lot!
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 7:45am On Aug 30, 2014
ernie4life: both
How come its only the APY that's categorically stated as guaranteed on your website. Again when am redeeming, will I be selling at a unit price that could fluctuate?

Like IBTC guaranteed fund, its your capital that is guaranteed and rate is never. And then u will be redeeming at a unit price that could fluctutate...
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 11:20pm On Aug 29, 2014
ernie4life: no upfront in kgif and the rate is 12%( No with holding tax)
Pls, what is guaranteed in kgif? Principal or APY?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 3:33pm On Aug 28, 2014
coderXO: OK let me clarify this again( because some guys are still not getting it).

Nobody will pay you 10% interest over 3months or 6months.

Meaning you put 100k , then 6 months later you collect 110k.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Any interest rate given to you by a bank or financial institution is quoted as an ANNUAL PERCENT.
(Unless CLEARLY stated otherwise)

If they say they will give you 10%, that is if you leave your money there for a whole year it will increase by 10%.

If you leave your money there 6 months at 10% APY (ANNUAL PERCENT YIELD/RATE), what you will get is approximately a 5%+ increase.

If you leave your money there 3 months at 10% APY (ANNUAL PERCENT YIELD/RATE), what you will get is approximately a 2.5%+ increase.

I hope you understand.
Yeah! I still prefer getting the 2.5%+ quarterly to be added to my principal quick than the 6%+ after a long 6 months. To me the time also matters. That's y I prefer 91days Tbills.

That's me.

coderXO: IBTC's money market pays about 10% from my calculations.

I removed from there and put into my KGIF smiley which I believe pays better.
pls, how can kgif pay better if it offers 12% in 6months and MM funds offers average of 10% in 3 monthshuh

or am i mistaking somthing?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 11:30am On Aug 28, 2014
nitrogen: Meanwhile, we have net asset value of collective investments (funds) in total of 186 billion naira, do you think all that will just disappear with Nigeria?

Anyway, my candid advice to all is to invest in funds of correct houses, check the history of the funds, the house and the financials of such houses. It should go a long way.
Correct!!

pls can u list like 4 u could suggest?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by gabscity(m): 11:13am On Aug 28, 2014
Chillisauce: When y'all investing in other market funds, remember the election in 2015. If anything should happen to The entity Nigeria. Your money don loss o. Better re invest your funds in tbills until December, relax..watch out for the following months. Make 12 % longer throat no let you loose all your principal while moving funds up and down.
As per ibtc. Their money market is about 10%, with I think 0.5% charge fee if you stop before 3 month(will have to confirm), I'm sure there will be other fee like service charge. I'm still watching them closely, haven't read all the instruction.
bolded is correct but no further charges after 91dys... i just opted out of their Equity fund.

Thanks alot, i know they give a very discounted rate on their MM because they dont charge annual fee, they give about the lowest rates. and ARM gives about the highest, but their annual fee scares me... grin

sammily: Please has anybody tried investing in First bank's Money Market? how was your experience with FBN and how is their return compared to other investment house. My TB with FBN will soon mature and i'm thinking of trying out their Money Market investment fund.
Their Money Market fund is cool and rewarding. They charge an annual fee of just 0.75% or there about as against ArM's 1.75% but no annual fee on IBTC's. Although, the they have their ways of giving discounted rate of interest quartely. E.g ARM gives the highest quarterly rates, then FBN capital. and initial minimum of 5k only for FBN capital. I do FBN capital's Heritage fund.

I still need anyone's experience of ibtc and arm's MM fund...
