@ Dafman, Your analogy is brilliant and sort of sums up what I have been venting all along. Its scary times we are living in right now, and the minds and hearts of men will continue to thirst for power till it consumes us all. What hope do we have? Because as much as I want to be an optimist, I do not quite believe in the dream of world peace and the concept of a utopian society. Do you? PS: This is one of the topics that I and ma friends have discussed before, "Who will be the next superpower? Our choices were: China, Japan, North Korea or South Korea. What do you think? |
redsun:Yeah so true! But with such power and access to technology at our disposal, therein lies the problem of abuse of responsibility. People feeding the public with news backed up with their own personal agenda. It sounds scary! |
JustGood:Guys always chasing Girls. Na today? |

presido1:Thanks for asking. Right now I have put it aside because I have a lot of work to do before the summer ends, so I am really busy. The good thing is that classes start in September and I already have a rough draft which is in bits and pieces, but I am way ahead of schdeule which is a good thing. Stay cool and keep passing through! ![]() |

And who assigned you the spreader of Joy? Although it will never happen but if all men stopped patronising all the gals in the red light district, they would be forced to take up a skilled trade without the use of their bodies, possibly take up computer lessons, and learn another skilled trade, but that's just me dreaming!!!! |

We are independent ! the fact that I am a Nigerian and converse in Swahili doesnt make me any more south african than the south africans themselves. Adopting a country's language doesnt mean they rule us or we cant think for ourselves. Surely we are not blaming our problems on the fact that English is our national language. Its up to us as Nigerians to sell our identity to the world with pride through tourism and that way we preserve our culture. The fact that we are speaking English can not excuse the fact that we have been left to govern ourselves for the last 47yrs. What have we done since then? |
I get your point but would everyone be in agreement? I believe Nigeria has bigger issues than an official language and we need to face that now. The issue of adopting an official language would only be rocking an already capsized boat, considering the unease in the nation right now. |
This discussion is really interesting. About why Nigerians have adopted English as its official language, I think it should stay that way for the sake of peace. We do not have a unified language, and if we adopt any of the various languages or dialects we speak as the official language, hmm there might be uprising due to different ethnic groups shouting, "WHY DIDNT YOU PICK OUR OWN NOW? IS YOUR OWN LANGUAGE BETTER?" |
Thanks! Its sad that most people dont see the wrong things they do but Americans have a lot of issues that they will have to address. I am not bashing them or anything, they have a strong economy, one of the best educational systems, but their foreign policy in my opinion is so messed up! They take it upon themselves to poke their heads into countries' affairs. Yet they wonder why some countries burn their flag on national TV during protestations. |
babyosisi:Thank you, I discovered another thread, why are girls rushing for marriage or something like that? I was like, what the heck? most of the posts I have read, its guys complaining about the evils that girls of nowadays are into, yet they can't still zip up their trousers!!! ![]() |
Kobe, I would have agreed but I have a prejudice against guys called Kobe. I am so sorry, but its not you, its me ![]() |
Female Circumcision, what's wrong with it? Everything!!!! Its a horrible nightmare that I would never wish upon my enemy's daughter! |
presido1:ha ha! Dont mind us jare, we are just jesting!!! |
Your topic should have been "Some Ladies today are becoming something else". Firstly your topic is screaming generalization and since reading so many threads on this forum, its the first thing people challenge. Secondly, what do you mean "our ladies"? Do they belong to you? If they want to dress anyhow, isnt it their choice? Funny enough, sometimes its the men who scream the loudest that women of today are immodest, that are the ones enjoying the free show!!! Some of them will readily jump to critcise when they see such girls on the street, exclaming "Hmm, these girls are wild!, they are becoming something else." yet simultaneously their eyes are bulging and they are swallowing saliva. I am not advocating immodest dressing, and its up to the decent ones to carry the torch. Leave the ones that dress indecently, after all, wisdom is not for everyone. |
Really!!! Do you mind ![]() |
Are people not tired of all these mundane questions, "why do girls do this", why do girls do that"? Its tiring abeg, I wont be surprised when new threads start popping up on nairaland posted by guys asking all sorts of questions; why do girls run to jujumen to charm their powder", why do girls bath at night to trap men?", why do girls speak incantantions when they are cooking food for their boyfriends"? "why do gals use magical eyepencil on their eyes to trap men"? Its always about what girls of nowadays are doing for the benefit of men, talk about an exaggerated sense of self-importance!!!! |
Man, this post is so funny I couldnt stop laughing. It seems the poor guy is so concerned about the whole virginity thing that his mind is so tied up in knots. "the one I disvirgin, i don't trust again, the one I didnt disvirgin has a strong control on sex". What the heck ? ![]() |
Pls help me beg our brothers to ease off a bit, na today that person start to like money So I am special ! Thank you oh!!! |
