Even God went further to give approval to Alcohol


Ecclesiastes 9:7  “Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.”

You quoted Ecclesiastes 9:7 out of context, a verse directed to those whom God have cursed and told them to enjoy the life under the sun and nothing for them in the hereafter and relating it to God's approval of it.

Millions of Nigerians don't know their actual date of birthday. They choose birthdays for official use and they celebrate on the chosen day.

It is taught in Islam that if a Muslim imitate the ways of the unbelievers he or she becomes one of them especially, matters of religion. In this regard celebrating birthdays is from the non-Muslims and therefore not our portion. We use birthdays as age counter and other important purposes, and also to avoid innovations even if they are classified good which quite cool in any other religions especially, Christianity.
So birthdays are good and important but, it's celebrating it is not and baseless.

I just realized something with Christians following this thread, if Christmas is taken away from the religion majority would seize to be Christians, no wonder it was invented into the religion to attract followers...
