According to recent studies, groundnut skins have an abundant amount of natural antioxidants and a high content of dietary fiber. Unknown to many people, groundnut is one of the best sources of protein. It is also very beneficial when it comes to matters of health. Although they are high in fat, it can be said to be the good kind of fat as it is a monounsaturated fat. Groundnut, which is also known as peanut or pignut, contains magnesium; foliate, vitamin E, copper, and arginine: They are believed to lessen the risk of cardiovascular disease. And according to recent studies, the skins have an abundant amount of natural antioxidants and a high content of dietary fiber. This is with regard to the different types, be it light-roasted or dark-roasted. Here are some of the mind-blowing health benefits of groundnut: 1. It is rich in antioxidant Groundnut skins are rich in phenolic compounds, which go to say that they are antioxidant rich. Antioxidants, on the hand, help p protect the body from oxidative stress, which occurs in cases of various cancers and diseases. They are powerful substances, which prohibit (and in some cases even prevent), the oxidation of other molecules in the body. According to a 2012 study from North Carolina University, published in the "Journal of Food Science," it was reported that adding a 5 percent concentration of peanut (groundnut) skins to peanut butter significantly increased its antioxidant levels without sacrificing taste or texture. 2. Heart-healthy fats As earlier stated, groundnut contains monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that keep the heart healthy. And this is great for the great for the healthy condition of the heart because a good level, of both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, help to lower blood cholesterol levels as well as reducing the risk of coronary heart diseases. 3. It is a high source protein When it comes to the healthiness of our cells, protein is essential. And this is because the cells in our body are constantly being replaced and repaired and to ensure that the new cells are healthy, and the damaged ones repaired well, the need for protein cannot be overemphasized. Groundnuts have been shown to be an extremely high source of plant protein and medical practitioners have advised that it should be incorporated in the diet for children, vegetarians, and protein deficient people. 4. Groundnut is a rich source of minerals As stated in the introduction, groundnut is a rich source of minerals. And some of these minerals include magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, calcium, sodium, etc. These minerals are needed by our body to function well. It is, however, important to note that adequate supply of these minerals ensure a healthy heart as well as minimizing the risk of mineral deficient diseases. 5. It is rich in vitamins It is a well-known fact that when it comes to overall growth and development, the importance of vitamins cannot be overemphasized. Vitamins do not only ensure vital health for cells and tissues, they also helps in fighting infections; thereby ensuring smooth functioning of our organs. Groundnut provides our body with essential vitamins, which helps in regulating metabolism, converting fat and carbohydrates into energy, and facilitating bone and tissue formation. And being a rich source of foliate, studies have shown that it reduces the incidence of birth defects and anaemia related conditions. |

I thought FAAC shared 634 billion for April on Friday |
Since Union Bank have paid, Access should follow nah. |
I came across this article and I think it's important to share. In one of our training sessions yesterday, the facilitator collected a Nokia torch hand set with fully charged battery. He brought a fresh egg. Then he puts the egg and the handset together and place them into a polythene bag. He tied the bag and told us to call the phone number ...Calling …Calling ...Busy ...Busy. When the battery is drained down, he gave the phone to the owner and cracked the egg. Behold the egg was cooked!!.. done!!!. We were surprised and asked for the explanation. He told us that every handset emits electromagnetic rays. That it was the rays that was responsible for cooking of that egg. He also said that for device to be named ” hand set ” by international bodies is not by accident. He said that it is never a pocket set. He went on to say that males (men) have egg resemblance in between their legs…scrotum. He admonished men to stop putting their hand set in their pockets, but to hold on hand. If you continue to put set in your pocket, the radiation from it will denature your spermatozoa and cook your scrotum . That is why our men will marry 2 to 3 years no Issues. They begin to blame their wife. They will visit men of God for fasting and prayers. God will answer them and reverse the condition, but coming out of the church, they put back the handset in their pockets and continued to denature their sperm and cook their scrotum again. Before a communication mast is mounted in your property, you will be paid between 10 to 20 million naira as long as you sign a document the network provider gives you. People don’t even read the document. Only sign and collect the pay. The document reads in part within the middle ( we are giving you this money to buy land in another place and relocate, because what we are about to mount here is dangerous to your health ) . If you continue to stay there in about 10 to 15 years period, you and others living there will be suffering from one cancer case to the other. Please , don’t be putting handset in your pockets. Inform your friends and relatives about the dangers. Ladies inform your brothers, male friends and relatives the same. By putting sets in your pocket or inside bra Can cause prostrate and breast cancer respectively. |

There are people that are just here to mumuciously criticize whatever they see others posted. There are ways to approach issues one feels discontent with rather than insulting the person. So, my brother, help tell those two idiots to have a better manner of approach next time. |

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, on Tuesday said the union had not issued any strike notice to the Federal Government over the implementation of the new minimum wage. Negotiation between government representatives and joint negotiating council had stalled over their differences in the percentage increase in workers’ salary. The leadership of Trade Union Council and other workers’ unions had expressed their dissatisfaction with what they described as “deliberate attempt” by the government to frustrate negotiation on the increase in order to benchmark the salaries raise to suit the fund gazetted in the budget for salary increase. Workers are also of the opinion that if government had its way, workers would only get meager increase despite 66.6 per cent minimum wage increase from N18,000 to N30,000. But, according to Wabba, negotiation was going on smoothly with government over the new minimum wage, adding that NLC met workers’ unions on Monday to deliberate on the issue. He said, “Our own case is going on well. We met with our unions yesterday (Monday). “The difference right now is about the consequential increase and we hope that through a normal process of dialogue, we will be able to sort that out. “NLC, as an organised body. I’m not sure we have given any notice (of strike) to that effect. If we reach a point of issuing threats, we will do that without hesitation. “But I have seen information on the social media. We are a credible organisation and we should be able to speak for ourselves. “If we get to that point, we will be able to inform you. But, for now, the process is going on and we have been able to expand the scope of dialogue to include NLC/TUC and only limited to the unions in the public sector.” |
Chelsea have announced that club legend Frank Lampard has signed a three-year deal to become their new head coach. The club's all-time leading goalscorer will take over from Maurizio Sarri , who left for Juventus after winning the UEFA Europa League and securing a third-place Premier League finish in his only season at Stamford Bridge. "I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach," Lampard told the club's official website. "Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared, however, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead. "I am here to work hard, bring further success to the club and I cannot wait to get started." Lampard joins Chelsea from Derby County, with whom he started his managerial career last summer, taking them to the Championship playoff final. He spent 13 seasons at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, four FA Cups and two EFL Cups. In total he made 609 Premier League appearances, playing also for West Ham United and Manchester City, and scored 177 Premier League goals, the most by a midfielder. The 41-year-old’s first Premier League match in charge of Chelsea is at Manchester United on Sunday 11 August.

BLOATING is a symptom that can appear at any age and is associated with gastrointestinal disorders. What are the five reasons why we bloat and how can a person can relieve the symptoms? Stomach bloating: There are a few reasons why a person bloats and it helps to know why. Bloating is when a person feels a fullness and tightness in the abdomen. It is often accompanied by a swollen and unsightly belly. Occasionally a person will feel pain and this can be a sharp, cramping feeling. Other symptoms of bloating are gas and needing to release it by either flatulence or hiccups. Hiccups are harmless and will diminish on their own, they also help to release the gas that is in the digestive tract before it moves down to the intestines causing more bloating. Five possible reasons of why a person experiences bloating are: Overeating Is probably the most common cause of bloating. It creates a feeling of being stuffed and is due to the excessive amount of food in the belly. Eating too quickly also causes bloating as the amount of air swallowed causes gas to build up. Gastric distension Gastric distension relates to abnormal levels of bacteria in the small intestine and when there is an imbalance of microqogransims it causes a person to bloat. Food allergy When a person eats foods that they are intolerant to, it causes excess gas production which makes them bloat. Food intolerance is when a person has difficulty digesting certain foods. Irritable bowel syndrome IBS is directly linked to the digestive system. A person who has IBS has difficulty digesting certain foods that either pass through the gut too quickly or too slowly. When the digestive system does not operate smoothly, it causes a person to bloat. Celiac disease This is when the body responds to gluten, a protein in wheat, barley and rye, and attacks the lining of the intestine. This causes diarrhoea, pain in the belly and lots of gas which makes a person bloat. |

Some Egyptian fans feel the frequent reports of protests by Nigerian players about non-payment of match allowances and bonuses are not doing the African continent any good. Within the last two months, Nigerian teams taking part in international competitions have protested over alleged non-payment of entitlements by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). From the Flying Eagles’ participation at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, the Super Falcons involvement at the yet to be concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and the Super Eagles’ campaign in the Egypt 2019 AFCON, it has been one squabble over alleged unpaid allowances or another. At the Cairo Stadium on Wednesday night, where the Pharaohs of Egypt defeated Congo 2-0 to move into the round of 16, the issue of Super Eagles’ protests over unpaid wages was the major topic by some of the fans. Those who spoke with The Guardian carpeted the Nigerian players for turning their participation at major championships into ‘one competition, one protest.’ “This is becoming too frequent an issue in Nigerian football and I think it is not doing Africa’s image any good,” one of the fans, who identified himself as Ali told The Guardian at the Cairo stadium. “As a national team player, I think Nigerian players are not behaving well by bring issues of unpaid allowances and bonuses to public domain every time they are on major competitions. There are other countries taking part in the AFCON, and it is only Nigerian players who are crying loud over unpaid match allowances. We had such situations recently with the U-20 (Flying Eagles), who refused to vacate their hotel after crashing out in Poland. It was followed by the Super Falcons in France. Now, we are hearing that your players (Super Eagles) are complaining in their hotel in Alexandra. I believe it is not only Nigeria that has financial problem. Your footballers should think of how to help your nation grow because playing for the national teams help their career as well.” Ali continues: “Here in Egypt, Mo Salah is not getting much in terms of financial reward from the national team, yet he has built schools and hospitals for the people. He even helped the government in fixing the roads. That is what your players should be emulating, not issues of unpaid bonuses and allowances all the time.” Another fan, Emerek said: “I am sure your players are always protesting because they feel the officials are making so much money in the football house. In that case, I think the government should try to sanitise the system. But to be sincere, this issue of protest by your national team players during major competitions is becoming a major embarrassment to Africa.” |
