If given game time Mejbri is better than Mount, Eriksen and McTominay. The only things holding him back are his temper, and a risk-averse manager with tunnel vision. If you combine his pressing ability, ball carrying ability, passing ability, speed and strength on the ball he is more complete than any of those other guys.

If the manager’s structure is defective even those guys will struggle. Also by the time Mainoo. And Amrabat get up to speed the season would have been lost.

IF Amrabat is able to perform as well as many think he can then Amrabat, Mainoo/Mejbri, Bruno would be our best midfield combination but it’s not going to happen. It is clear that we lack legs in midfield and you can’t play counter-pressing/transition football and depend on Eriksen, Case.

They don’t have the desire to sell him. They don’t have the courage to play him. They are postponing the day of reckoning for as long as possible until either they get the courage to play him or lose the desire and sell him OR the cancellers lose interest and move on.

my major issue is the complete lack of faith in other young players by the manager. I honestly don't know what's happening there but it's a big concern.
I said it at halftime that if Eriksen is on for a long time we'd have a problem. I don't know how this isn't clear enough to Ten Hag at this point. even Casemiro was near empty.
we ended with a really slow middle and I think the coaching crew need to sit down and review their game management because anybody with any understanding of the game could see what was ahead.
it's a squad for a reason.
