3. Matthew Harris
4. Bill Woodburn

Otedola is worth more than $1.1Bn.

He has sold up one of his biggest assets (Forte Oil) and Forbes does not look at cash in hand. They only value mostly listed companies.

A large fraction of Otedola's assets are not listed companies and I would not be surprised if they add up to another $200m+; and this is minus his money in the bank or in bonds.

A Investment Fund is different from Corporate Equity.

Those that own capital in the fund are just interest-seeking investors and own no share in the company.

Those that own the equities of the corporation own the company.

Ogunlesi is Chairman, major shareholder and will receive with his partners 3 billion dollars cash when deal is signed by summer and 12 million units of Blackrock shares worth 9.5 billion dollars.

He will continue to head the portion of GIP that Blackrock purchased.
From Financial Times

How do you know he is a "major shareholder"?

He is a founding partner. He therefore must have shares in the company.

Even a 10% stake should enable him attain the billionaire status.

There 6 founding partners, but there is NO CHANCE the firm became this big without institutional investors' money.

I doubt the 6 founders own up to 10% of the business. Even the founders of BlackRock that is buying them do not own more than 1% of BlackRock combined. Institutional investors own about 80% of BlackRock and all employees are given shares.

The founders of BlackRock actually have only like 0.10% to 0.30% (the highest share percentage owned by any of the founders).

So the likelihood Ogunlesi owns more than 5% of GIP is very slim to none.

PHOTONEWS : Ebonyi Governor, Nwifuru Buys SUVs For All Medical Doctors In General Hospitals

No Long Stories!

Find below, the SUVs procured by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for all the medical doctors working in the General Hospitals across the State, to ensure they are at work seamlessly and respond to duty calls.

This in no small measure will give them good confidence and assurance of their welfare, having been employed by the State Government. It is meant as well, to ensure that they do not convert the hospital ambulances to their private cars. All the SUVs have been paid for and all of them delivered.

Talking of ambulances, pictures 5 and 6 show some of the ambulances procured by Ebonyi State Government for the General Hospitals. 52 were paid for, but 20 have arrived. The rest will be delivered soon. The Governor intends to have 2 ambulances for each General Hospital in Ebonyi State.

Ebonyi State is on the rise, and our Chief Servant is leaving no stone unturned in that regard.

The Governor will deploy them soon, according to his esteemed discretion.

Why 1? Why 3? Why 8? Why 20? How many siblings do you have? Why?

Because a small amount makes sense.

I have only 1 sibling.

But even if I had more than 1 sibling, this is the 21st century, not the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s where the world was less crowded, more countries were resilient (including Nigeria), you did not need expensive technologies like laptops, smart mobile phones, internet connections etc. to be competent enough educationally to compete in the world and Nigerian public universities were competent enough.

So why would you have 4 or 20 children in this modern age?

Why could you not have maximum 2 or, at the very worst, 3?

Chief Obafemi Awolowo warned our leaders many years ago when he said, "The children of the poor you failed to train will never let your children have peace".

The North is now facing their choice of ignoring Western education in favour of Quranic education and for refusing to see mass quality education in general as critical.

After 50 years, we are still seeing cut-off marks of 1% to 20% for the best Northern students; the leaders are not ashamed that they have not closed the gap in 50 years!

You really carry my matter for head and it is obvious you're in severe pain. I'll give you some hints though. A DevOps eng in US can earn as high as $15,000 monthly and some work 2 to 3 jobs remotely. Won't that amount to $45k monthly? I know some guys that even do up to 5 jobs at the same time. Just like I stated in my post earlier, change your mindset!

As high as?

Na me you think say na mugu wey you dey use "as high as" for? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

A waiter in the USA can also make "as high as" as $8,000 per month.

So, I am a waiter that earns $30K per month in USA and Canada. I do 3 jobs. grin grin grin

Mugu, person would be paying you $15,000 per month and you will have time for 2 other jobs paying that amount?

I think cos of Lagos, which gives Yoruba people a big advantage, just like USA leads the world cos of USA advantage. Other people from other regions should try and remove eye from Lagos and develop a Lagos in their own region to be able to compete fairly. Igbos and Benins are the only ones trying.

While Lagos might have far more commercial activities than anywhere in Nigeria, it does not have a monopoly.

I don't think unique locational development is the reason/advantage of why Yorubas appoint women.

If you go to a place like Zamfara, both public and private sector engagements are virtually 100% men. Same is pervasive in the North and some other parts of Nigeria. This has nothing to do with Lagos being in Yoruba land. It is a mentality and culture.

Women having opportunities to get to the top is more about average educational levels & quality, local culture and general open-mindedness.

You mean saving $5000 cash in 3 months as far back as 2 years ago is not an achievement?? You just ended up validating him because he provided screenshots of the dollar notes and two years after on a different thread he still claims he earns in dollars — so no atom of lies there.

Validated to simpletons like you if you believe someone who was struggling to save $5,000, just 2 years ago, moved to the USA and became one of the top 0.01% earners in the USA from "IT work" after working as a cleaner for 6 months and also joining the army before moving to IT.

So he has less than 1 year western experience of IT, at best, but is one of the highest paid IT people in the world?
