Official: JAMB Announces Cut-Off Mark, Post-UTME Scrapped Posted: 02-Jun-2016 [16:32:25] into Jamb by myschool paul for school | 120 Comments Sponsored Links Following the decisions arrived at the just concluded 2016 JAMB Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, the 2016 official cut-off mark has been pegged at 180 for Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education. This implies that no higher institution; universities, polytechnics, colleges of education or certificate awarding institutions recognized by JAMB will go below 180. However, they can choose to go above the benchmark of 180. Similarly, the decision to scrap post-UTME was taken. This means that institutions will no longer conduct Post-UTME screenings. According to the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, there is confidence in what JAMB is doing and hence no need to conduct another examination for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions. He further stated that universities that have complaints against JAMB should bring it forward for address. However, the minister directed JAMB to stop demanding extra charges on other services rendered by the board to candidates which include change of course/institution. Here are the words of the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde after the meeting, “180 is given, no institution will go below 180 this year, And some universities can go above it, I know University of Ife will not go below 200 and University of Lagos will not go below 200 and also UI. All these ones stand but 180 as bench mark for others. “This year we have more than enough candidates, we have over 1.5 million candidates so we will get enough candidates to take in all the schools if they are serious. Re-distribution is already ongoing, because it is embedded in the registration procedure.” |

BRING BACK OUR CORRUPTION!!! With Corruption a bag of pure water was N80 Without Corruption a bag of pure water is N150 With Corruption dollar was N180 Without Corruption dollar is N400 With Corruption I have 20hrs electricity at low tariff Without Corruption I have 7hrs electricity with 45% increase in tariff With Corruption keke to my house takes N50 Without Corruption keke to my house takes N100 WithCorruption smallest indomie was N40 Without Corruption smallest indomie is N60 The list can go on and on but I just have to end it and take a stand...... # IStandWithCorruption #Bringbackourcorruption. #BuharibringbackNigeria. #Bringbacknaira. If with Corruption Dollar was N180 and without Corruption Dollar is now N425, Brother and Sisters, you will agree with me that we need corruption in this country... Titus Sardine started with 4 fishes, it reduced to 3. Then now it's 2. In years to come, you'll open Sardine and see "Try Again" |

If you have ever been a student at a university in Nigeria, then you would understand that there are different groups of students. While people outside the walls of the university may see everyone in the school as students, the insiders know the difference and are always able to place students in the group they belong to. We need not tell you that not all students are active students in the university. Some of them are only in school because people expect them to be. This is one of the reasons why elderly ones advice their wards by telling them to pass through school and allow school to pass through them. That being said, find the different sets of people you are most likely to meet in a university: 1. The party goers People like these are always present in every university. As a matter of fact, they are the most popular set of students as people are always talking about them. You can be sure that they would be at a party even when they do not go to school regularly. They cannot afford to miss a party and give more importance to it. These are the people you see wearing branded shirts that promote parties. 2. The fashionistas The thing synonymous to the people in this group is that they love clothes. They would spend every cent they have on clothes and bother themselves about looking good always. The trending clothes and style would first be seen on them and they would rock a style ahead of every other student in school. They may not be leading in their class but you can be sure you can never beat them when it comes to fashion. 3. The bookworms People in this set are too studious; all they want to do is read and read. They do not go out, attend parties or have any form of social life. They would read even when there is no test and the exam is not in view. They do not bother themselves about fashion and only wear whatever they have. Their lifestyle is very simple. 4. The library goers This set of people love going to the library; that is what they do every day. If they are not in the class or in the hostel, you can be sure you will find them in the library. They want to read ahead of the class and in some cases, they do this to intimidate other students. 5. The student right activists Students like these are passionate about the affairs of the school and are active members of the student union government. They concern themselves with the affairs of the other students in the school and express their opinions through the association. They are people who are interested in politics and would always contest for one position or the other even at the faculty level. 6. The mobile kiosks These groups of students are concerned about trade and business. They sell different wares while being students and have everything you need. They sell recharge cards, snacks, books and other things on the go. They move around with the goods they sell and people know them as a result of that. Some of them end up being traders and business women after graduating from the university. 7. The talkative Students in this set are known to talk a lot. They would always be seen talking in the school as their gist has no end. Other students avoid sitting with them because they distract them from reading and concentrating in class. Most of the people in this group find time to read and then cool off by talking and distracting others. 8. The fellowship brothers People in this group are so passionate about religion. They act like God is only for them and go extra mile to get things done in the religious centres. They get to church earlier than the pastors and never miss any fellowship. Every other person who does not conform to their way of life is thought to be a devil while they are the holy ones. 9. The ‘dubbers’ Students that are found in the group have necks that have been adapted for cheat*ng. They know all the scopes one could deploy when it comes to cheat*ng. They would rather spend their time forming bond than reading |
