franchasofficia: You guys keep writing rubbish as if you all are blind to the realities that happened during and after the election.
Even if Kwankwaso, Obi and G5 Governors remained in PDP and contested against Tinubu, Bola Tinubu would have still won.
2023 Presidential election winner was not announced based on who scored highest number of legitimate votes cast but based on who Buhari, INEC and all the federal government election institute and the Judiciary want to win.
If any Nigerian is honest enough, he or she will agree that Peter Obi inspired new set of voters all over Nigeria that never voted before in previous election years. Peter Obi's bulk vote didn't just come from PDP's traditional voters, Peter Obi brought in a new set of voters all over Nigeria. Peter Obi is the legitimate winner of 2023 Presidential election, his only crime was that he is Igbo.
Peter Obi inherited votes from APC (majority of Osinbajo's supporters voted Obi. Same with Rotimi Amaechi's supporters and some sensible APC supporters who wanted a positive change and fairness in Nigeria's politics, all of them voted for Obi).
Peter Obi inherited votes from enlightened young Nigerians in Southwest, Northeast. Obi brought in new votes from Christians in Northwest, Northeast and Northcentral who never voted for PDP before.
The only thing to be argued is whether Peter Obi got the two-third spread in Nigeria, of which he did if INEC was fair.
Obi's winning margin in Lagos was massively suppressed to the barest minimum. Same happened in Benue, Plateau, Rivers (the most shameful of all), Oyo, Ogun, Borno, Sokoto, Bauchi, Taraba, etc.
Nigerian youths especially and many Christians voted for Peter Obi en masse.
All through the years of PDP, they never won Lagos, Peter Obi won Lagos all thanks to Nigerian youths and the Christian voters Obi rallied and inspired within a couple of months.
You guys should bury this nonsense ideology that why Tinubu won was because PDP was divided, its not the truth. Tinubu did not win and he knows it. Tinubu won simply because he planned well for the past many years by capturing Lagos state funds which he used very well to plant political mercenaries and bought loyalists from different regions cos in Nigeria, whoever throws money around gets things easily than those that don't, which is why Nigeria will never advance beyond where it is as a nation cos we worship money, and our politics is hugely determined by moneybags and incumbent President.
Tinubu utilized Lagos state treasury he captured since 1999 very well by using the enormous Lagos treasury to plant political loyalists all over Nigeria and in key positions who then came through for him by delivering him illegally not minding the consequences.
INEC noticed that the election result was going against Tinubu, they blocked result upload to iREV from polling units to enable them revert to manual collation which is the easiest way to rig election result in Nigeria.
If INEC had remained neutral, Bola Tinubu would have been thrashed. The 3rd position INEC gave Peter Obi was actually Tinubu's position and Tinubu and his inner circle knows this bitter truth. Let them enjoy their stolen mandate, we are only praying and hoping on God Almighty the only upholder of true justice to do what is just and right at His own set time.
I strongly believe that it is not yet uhuru for Tinubu and all his rigging cohorts, they know what they did, they know they cheated Peter Obi simply because he is Igbo and I know God that ruleth in the affairs of man will definitely serve true justice when the time comes. Nonsense analysis. Why was Obi votes not surpressed in the S.E where he was getting 99% of the votes or is not the same INEC you are accusing conducted the election. Obi played the religious and tribal card, like he did during his Governorship election in Anambra and he payed for it. In most of the south west states obi got more than 15%. How come other candidates (Atiku and Tinubu)could only muster 2% in the S.E or are you telling us their is no hausa/Fulani or Yoruba living in the S.E. Ask yourself who suppressed who. All this emotional analysis will not help. |

proeast: APC goons keep saying that Gabon coup does not concern us since they're not in ECOWAS. Does it matter whether they are or not?
Now here is what should bother them and the rogue that grabbed, snatched and ran with the people's mandate;
1. Gabon is closer to Nigeria than Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ivory coast etc. that are in ECOWAS.
2. Coups are infectious, the closer it's happening around you, the higher the chances it will also occur to you.
3. Exactly the same thing that prompted coup in Gabon also happened in Nigeria i.e. brazen rigging and not respecting the people's choice.
4. The general sentiment in Gabon, prior to the military coup was that Ali Bongo, the man that rigged himself in was crassly unpopular and the masses openly showed that military intervention was necessary. The same sentiment is now predominant in Nigeria.
5. When the military struck in Gabon and removed the unpopular president, there was mass jubilation across Gabon and same feelings was shared across Africa. It means that ambitious and courageous soldiers in Nigeria will definitely be tempted to act likewise, knowing they would be seen as heroes.
We woke up yesterday and heard they've struck in Gabon. The question being asked now is which country is next and when is it going to occur. You must be deluding urself if you believe their will be coup in nigeria, just because Obi Pandora lost the election. Get a life and move on. And stop decieving urself and ur people. No country will allow a successionist tribe access to power. Obi will never be president of a united Nigeria. |

The coup detat that is becoming a trend all show that not just biafrans but Africans are yearning for change.
The ECOWAS threats to Niger is anchored on brigandage and unity of the African leaders to continue in their plunder of Africa orchestrated by the Western nations but there comes in a man's life where enough is truely enough.
The judges of the presidential tribunal should understand that biafrans await their judgement. This time around is not gonna be business as usual. Biafrans await the true Justice. If Tinubu truely wins, let his mandate be upheld and if not, let justice prevail... |

Penguin2: Lol!
I’m gonna wait to confirm that this is not fake news.
But in the meantime, if it’s true, then congratulations to Tinubu, ECOWAS and their brainless warmongers. They now have more countries to invade.
After invading Niger, they will invade Gabon. Or are they going to invade Niger without invading Gabon? They have to mad not to.
I’m so happy right now, if this news is true. Because I’m sure ECOWAS was already waiting to congratulate President Bongo for winning Third Time in a “free and fair” election even though the report of the Gabonese Electoral Umpire shutting down their Electronic Infrastructure, like INEC did, and even removing names of opponents from ballot papers has been everywhere.
Another reason I like this is that the PEPT will see what is happening in other countries because of disputed election. People are waiting on them to do justice, failure of which no one knows what the outcome will be.
Democracy is fast becoming unpopular in Africa and it’s because of poor Electoral management. The situation where votes no longer reflect the wishes of the majority of the voters, their will be disenchantment with the people seeking alternative way out.
If a coup happens in Nigeria today, Nigerians will celebrate it because we didn’t vote for the idiot in power.
If the PEPT likes, let it insult Nigerians like INEC did, let’s see what the outcome will be. Igbo wailers. Obi can never be president of a united Nigeria |

MadamExcellency: Meaningless opinion. You failed to read the BBC article to understand the foolishness of Buhari's gift to corrupt politicians. The people of Niger are in support of the coup the same way as Nigerians who jubilated when Buhari was overthrown in a bloodless coup by Babangida in 1985 when Ubani was still playing with sand in the village.
Democracy is the government of the people and for the people, it doesn't say of politicians and for corrupt politicians. It's a lie majority are against the coup. |

Politics › Re: Why Were Casualties Of The January 1966 Coup Northerners And Yoruba? by garykoeman: 2:09pm On Aug 01, 2023 |
The question of patriotism, I’ll show here that the leaders were rather selfish. Of course one would concede that many of our leaders gave their lives for the country: Akintola, the premier of Western Nigeria, Sardauna, premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Tafawa Balewa and a few others.
However, a letter from Nnamdi Azikiwe, who was in London during the first military coup of 1966, to Aguiyi Ironsi, the first military head of state, left an impression in a young Nigerian like me that even at the top, there were individuals who didn’t care much for the country. “Since this is a Herculean task which must be undertaken by all of us who are interested in the peace and stability of our Federal Republic,” Azikiwe wrote in the letter to Major-General Aguiyi-Ironsi, “I now inform you of my desire to return home immediately in order to be in position to discharge any duty, constitutional or otherwise, in which my services may be required.”
Constitutional or otherwise! You may note that while Zik scribbled his letter in England, two premiers were already killed. His prime minister was still missing, yet there was nowhere in the letter where he mentioned them. But he wanted a role for himself – constitutional or otherwise! Now take a deep breath and ponder that. It’s my opinion that this puts a question mark on Zik’s patriotic credentials. |
