honeyB2018: Go back to history 101 about elections in Nigeria. You are talking about after the independence, but I'm telling you about pre- independence. Let me help you a bit. Go to Goggle, search for History of Cross Carpeting in Nigerian politics..
Cross carpeting to form another party is not tribalism, Ncnc was a political party formed by Herbert Macaulay he handed over to Zik. After Macaulay death Zik abandoned the nationalistic idealogy of the party and diverted it towards ethnicity domination.
lhordspy: Some people still dont get this. Maybe because they are very new to Nigeria politics or first time voters.
During the Presidential campaign. The candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi exploited and explored our diversity, he capitalised on our religious differences in particular to instigate hate among the the two major religion we have in Nigeria. CAN, PFN turned themselves into a political group. Especially General overseers, they turned the altar into a political stage to preach politics and propagate hate against Muslim candidates.
Peter Obi's victory in Lagos during the presidential election wasn't just from the igbos alone but from 'some' brain clouded, emotional religious sentimental yoruba christ!ans who were sold with the Jihad bullcraps. After the victory, instead of building bridges, extending hand of friendship with the yourbas that voted against Obi, making them reason by drawing them closer and also at sametime solidifying the alliances with yorubas on their side already, that voted for obi. The southe@sterners, feeling pompous and inflated came with the campaign of 'taking over lagos' . .. They ran twitter spaces, host interviews aided by their propaganda media house, AriseTV, scribbles and tweets were churned out about how they will sack all the obas and takeover the whole place.
How can you expect the yorubas who sided with you against their tribesman, Tinubu in the presidential election to feel about it? Happy that you want to takeover their ancestral land and mock them with it in return, just like you use the word; 'Afonja ' consistently to make mockery of our loss in Ilorin.
Sanwo Olu victory was not as a result of tribalism. The yorubas fought together as one again, and they won. Different yorubas from different religion, political parties, and across all board left our differences asides at the corner, came together to 'rescue ourselves'. (once bitten, twice shy)
At first it was cruise, then it became aggressive, now it is uncontrollable.. Cant even be tamed nor can they reason well. It is all noise, zero thinking and strategy. The Obidient movement is turning out to be a curse to Peter Obi and the hardworking innocent igbos who committed no crime but paying for the sins of the headless mob.

*■RHODES AND RHODES-VIVIOUR FAMILIES■* ♧There is a need to draw attention to the difference between the two families in Lagos Island. ♧While the original RHODES Family are post slave trade generational LAGOSIANS of Popo Aguda Extraction the RHODES-VIVOUR family are later day migrants from Opobo in Rivers State; there relatable are still there till today. ♧Not that it matters much but it helps to understand the Pan Nigerian inclination of the RHODES-VIVOUR family in Lagos. We accept everyone in Lagos, but we keep our ancestral lineages and inheritances intact for a day like this.. ♧Indeed, the real ancestral RHODES family heritage is being fraudulently mixed confused and attributed to Rhodes-Vivour in respect of City Hall Lagos without any attempt by the original RHODES Family to correct the wrong optics...thereby passing-off its own antecedents; just to avoid its political decorations and tribal barbarism. ♧The original RHODES Family will not want to be part of anything that relates to RHODES-VIVOUR's claim to our own ancestral RHODES Family of Lagos Island, and we appeal to those political leaders mixing up RHODES-VIVOUR with RHODES Family of Lagos Island to desist from that or else may face legal consequences... Thanks and God Bless You All.... ~RHODES FAMILY (Lagos Island, Lagos)
honeyB2018: God bless you my sister. In 1952 or there about. An Hausa/Fulani man was elected the 1 mayor of the whole of Eastern Nigeria. It was celebrated, he was there, till the civil war began, until Awolowo came after and sowed the seed of tribalism and nepotism. Over 70yrs after, we are yet to heal from it's devastating effect. In this election, under Buhari and APC, a big sword, has been driven into the soul of the unity of this country. It's a shame, that Nigerians are being profiled,by party and tribe, before the can vote in an election, in Lagos State, that is the center of excellence. Till nor, neither President Buhari, his Vice- President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Reps, nor the president-elect, have said anything against it. It's a seed, it has been sown, only God knows how long it will take to get it out of fabric of the nation.
Awolowo never sold the seed of discord your tribal army and tribal people started the mistrust we are experiencing now.
ChybuzzDD: This is a very stupid statement from a shameless hypocritical fool! So, it wasn't APC and their supporters that chose a muslim-muslim ticket in a multi-religious country like Nigeria that ''explored and exploited our religious diversity'', it is now Obi and other well-meaning Nigerians who stood against the jihadic agenda, right? People who preached against the evil ticket considering the problems it is going to cause later on are now to blame and not the evil people who want to dominate others with their terror-inclined religion! Can you see how hypocritcal you fools are? Can you see why that country will never make any headway? Let's see where all these tribalism, ethnoreligious bigotry, hatred and do-or-die politics will lead you and the country to
Obi served under the worst military despot and made most of his money during abacha time. Obi represent nothing.
Tinubu have deceived many Yorubas with his tribal-religious politics of hatred for Igbos. We have learned a big lesson. Only foolish Igbos will refuse to learn from this election.
otuomasirichi: You see the reason why Igbo and Yoruba marriage should be abolished by all means. They rejected Gbadebo Vivour because his mother is Igbo. What's the essence of of marrying an Igbo woman and later see her children as Outcasts or intruders. This is an act of wickedness angry
Adeleke mother is Igbo there was no issue about it. Why gbadebo? Gbadebo insulted and abused the Yoruba people and u want yoruba to vote for someone that hate them
EmekaA125: You Yorubas on this forum are tribalistic and so full of yourselves. You hate a young man with Yoruba ancestry and blood just because his mother is Igbo. You idiots are archaic, primitive and far from being civilized. Spits
The guy is a bastard, it only a bastard that uses his left hand to show the direction to his father house,GRV abused Yoruba and u expect the same people to vote for him
StagethemTVee: The mother of Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour has expressed her anger and disappointment at the election process in Lagos. While speaking with a reporter, the obviously fumed mum of the “incoming Governor” said she is surprised people are buying votes and no one is doing anything about it.
Mother of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Calls Herself Mum of Incoming Governor and upset at Election Process.
ObalaEmma: I certainly didn't understand the history book I read growing up till 2023 election. The amount of hate from Wike in PDP to Peter Obi before the primary. Apc treatment of Ogbonna Onu and Rotomi Amaechi. Peter Obi acted alone and got support, but we can all see where it's leading to. Most Woke Igbos are still frightened about a Case of Igbos in Nigeria if this continues to be the normal treatment. Igbos are a tribe with much personal pride and this has nothing to do with hate but personal aggrandisement. Most worked hard to where they are today with little or no education and usually go berserk when success finally arrives. I understand this is hard for other tribes to sip.
Yourbas won under every Lp in Lagos, not Igbos. Yoroubas canvass for Igbo votes every election and when an Igbo man brags about his support to a Yoruba it becomes a problem. The igbophobic hate isn't because Igbos are planning to rule Nigeria but Igbos for the first time in their history are becoming woke to the election and taking sides openly which every tribe has been doing since 1999. I know the kind of hate I get from my brethren each time I tell them the risk I took to vote in 2015 made me make up my mind never to take any Nigerian election seriously. They assume I don't love progress enough. The future won't be easy.
How many votes did ogbonaya onu got from his state at the APC primaries?.
EmekaA125: Yorubas really revealed how tribalistic, disgusting, barbaric and intolerant they're. They just proved many people holding them at high esteem wrong. Now other tribes ladies must be wary of Yoruba men lest what happened to GRV happen to their kids through rejection and wickedness. Sad
You people are the tribalist here, You voted for Obasanjo in 1999 because you knew he does not like the Yoruba, same thing you are doing now with GRV, so you expect Yoruba to vote for someone that abuse them and their heritage, same way you people are trying to divide yoruba along religion line with your slogan "Yoruba christian, Yoruba Muslim" Yoruba are one.
Gucciblog: Dear Immigrant Yorubas claiming Lagos, can a real Lagosian contest governorship election in your own states?
Why is Sanwo Olu from Ogun state bent on ruling people of another state?
Why do you guys want to take over Lagos from the owners?
Abii Lagos no get indigenous people to rule them or what?
Yorubas are one, any Yoruba man, inrespective of where u come from is free to contest on any Yoruba land. We are not like southeastern who do not allow someone from Enugu to contest in Anambra while someone from Ebonyi can not contest election in Imo.
Hammylawali: To be sincere, Igbos should really hold their leaders accountable. What are the other governors doing that they can’t do for the southeast. Allocations are shared yet nothing to show for it. They really need to be investigated. The east should be a great industrial hub where the rest of Africa should be dying to do business with. It’s just a pity!
I don't understand why they are not holding their leaders accountable.
seanfer: She’s not a resident of Lagos and she’s crying more than the residents. Her state Anambra is facing the same chaos as Lagos but she will not talk about her state.
She be hypocrite b4. Always sentimental and emotional.
nadisms: My Experience shopping on Jumia online store
Terrible experience and I feel they are breeding thieves as agents.
On the 23rd of january 2023, I decided to purchase 2 IN 1 universal wireless microphone on Jumia. After, a serious search for my spec ,I finally settled for one with the hope that the seller would send the same specification to me.
I added the details of the person that would receive the products for me. When the goods arrived on 1st feb 2023, I was duly notified by the person that the items were different from the specifications posted on Jumia, and I immediately initiated a return policy from my end, which Jumia acknowledged by saying that once the products gets to them, my refund would be sent in 3-7 business days.
After some days, Jumia agent called my friend with this number: 09166608377 in order to confirm where she was , afterwards he came to Nnamdi azikiwe university teaching hospital Nnewi Anambra state, and collected the items.
After 10 days, I did not receive a refund from Jumia. I logged on to my jumia account and discovered that they have written non-returnable on that particular product.
I called Jumia to register my unhappiness about their service delivery. They requested for the number of the agent that collected the items, which I did and they said that they would initiate another return from their side. I thought initiating another return means to verify from their end.
After some days, another agent called that he wanted to pick up the items, and my friend informed him that those items had earlier being returned to Jumia and she provided the number of the other agent that picked up the items. He said he will verify.
Till date, we are yet to hear anything from Jumia. I have called the agent directly, and he said that he could not remember where he kept the goods.
I have called their customer care several times and they are yet to respond positively to my complaints.
Even the agent, has stopped picking my calls. This is his second number: 08029969365.
Presently, Jumia is not responding positively to my complains and they keep postponing my grievances.
My observations: it seems the agent had sold off my goods.
My Questions: why will Jumia employ thieves as staff?
Deogratias0030: This is the main reason why Nigeria, and by extension, Africa don't grow. We don't care about competence but tribe or religion; others greed, hunger or illiteracy.
