If the market ranges over 70 percent of the time, then how do you trade with the trend?

How can correlation help in any scenario like below?

I think the only way to define a trend is relative to the previous bar close on say a 4h chart or daily or monthly and Fibonacci areas or ATR areas above or below the high and low of that bar.

Anything can happen with the close of each new bar...especially if news is around the corner.

Opinions?

Gbpchf is at a key level, that ranging is not ordinary.

I think a new high on H4 will signal whether the structure has turned bullish or not.

The recent challenge is the reason I returned to this community. The model of the challenge is better than competitions that breeds greed and impatience. It's like basically saying 'show me you're consistent and I will help you get funded'. It's a step in the right direction.

Short momentum has increased on H4 while D1 has confirmed a swing short, I will only be waiting on today's close to see the currently forming D1 candle to end bearish, then I will short. My trades usually last many days.

Alright Boss, just thread with caution cos gold works in mysterious ways.

I believe today's candle will likely close bearish, but I'm expecting a sharp reversal on Monday.

It is the h4 that will correct the anomaly on the weekly
All the poi till 1628 has been used so taking a trade from 1640 and 1660 is suicide

Gold went crazy, I have been scalping since 4hrs ago, only by longing it and with doubled lot. Now I have stopped scalping and now set two additional longs at 2 different entries.

All these to breakeven on this order. AS OF NOW, I have 4 long positions running.

PS: If by the end of today, gold remains bearish; I will close all longs and short.

Alright Boss, but I believe shorting gold now is not worth it. It will likely range between 1640 and 1660 for a few days before buying, from my analysis it will start buying by Tuesday. I will suggest you hold your long positions with SL at 1630.

If not for proper money management, I would have loved to add another long to make it 3 long positions. H4 just indicated that all will be well with the ongoing long. I will check again by the end of today (Friday) to determine if the long will continue for the next 5days.

Gasive, I hope that you joined with a live account.

And I suggest you don't add more trades for now, it will likely sell to 1650 area today before buying. That's where I intend to join (on demo).

Again, I'm watching closely, the momentum to sell on H4 is very low and that gives me the courage to go off chart and relax for another 4hrs; my watch is: once I see the momentum pick on H4, I will take a reverse order from the H4 while my long continues; else, I do nothing and continue with the long for another 5days
