Please I'd like to ask. Can someone carry 3 boxes to the airport? 1 big box, and 2 small ones that can substitute for another box23kg. Because I know the airline policy is 2 23kg luggage. The first box will be 23kg or even less. And since I don't have a second box that can carry so much or weigh 23kg or even close, can one carry 2 small bags/boxes that'll substitute the second 23kg.
cc: Lagosismyhome, femi312, and others. Thanks |

paulsir: I was denied in Lagos today. How long does it takes to reapply? You can apply today and pick the next available date. But make sure you're well prepared before you go, so as not to waste 64k again. Anyways just be prepared and you can go any day/anytime. |

olarich30: at last my VISA was approved yesterday morning and my interview was scheduled for 8;15 am
i was first denied on the 22nd of june 2017 , i applied to full sail university for master's in game design . i just had to sum of courage and i reapplied , it was GOD's favor all the way and my VISA was approved by a young white woman in her thirties i suppose at window 5 .
the VO that interviewed me actually came late , she didn't start with the others that morning . i guess GOD sent her to me ,she was friendly and she also gives applicants enough time to express themselves . she denied a guy going for a business meeting because his spouse in the US already filed an immigrant visa for him and she took her time to explain to him then she granted the next applicants going on a tourist visa (father and son) even when the son had be refused in the past . then it came to my turn
the interview
Vo..... Good morning
Me ...... GOOD morning
Vo...... pass your documents please
me...... i gave her my passport , I20 and sevis receipt
Vo........ why are you going to the US
me........ i am going to purse my master's degree in game design at Full sail university in florida
Vo....... what do you do for a living and tell me your duties at your place of work
me............ i am a data administrator and a game design at bet9ja and KC gaming , i maintain and manage our virtual casino games server , i troubleshoot when the server has a problem so the virtual games will easily be accessible to players and i also write the codes for our virtual casino games and i do graphic design for the virtual casino games .
Vo........have you traveled out of nigeria before
me..... yes i have been to south africa , togo , benin republic and the united arab emirates .
Vo...... why did you choose full sail university?
me...... i chose full sail university because it's game design program has a curriculum that is practical oriented , they make us of the latest game design softwares as their game production tool and they also have a state of the art game design studio which will help enhance my learning skills . the tuition fee for the program is also inline with my dad's budget for my master's program
Vo....... how many schools did you apply to ?
Me........ drexel university in Pennsylvania , new jersey institute of technology , university of virginia and Fullsail university .
Vo......... what will this degree do for you ?
me....... with this degree i will be able to assume the role of senior game designer with an increased salary , i also intend to set up my own game design company in 4 years time and i work as a game design consults and this will create opportunities for me to work with lots of gaming companies in nigeria and other new gaming companies as a consults . beside the gaming world this degree and skills obtained at fullsail university will enable work in the nigerian entertainment industry . i will help movie directors design quality animated movies and also help music video directors design quality animated music videos ( she was nodding her head all along )
Vo....... can you name the courses you will be taking ?
me ......... personal development and leadership , game design , game production tool , game project practicum , game usability and testing ,prototyping and content creating , i listed the whole 12 course and i told her it's a total of 41.5 credit hours altogether
Vo........ who is sponsoring you ?
me........ my dad is sponsoring and i was also giving one year study leave with full monthly pay at my place of employment
Vo........ what does your dad do ?
me ......... he is into real estate and agriculture , he buys and resell landed properties and he also has a large poultry farm with over 17000 chickens that produces eggs on a daily basis which he sells too .
Vo....... do you intend to come to nigeria and work after your graduation ?
Me...... i said yes of course , i intend to come back to nigeria and continue working at my current place of employment
Vo....... you better do
that was when i knew it was a done deal
Vo....... i see you were refused a visa before , why were you refused a visa the first time ?
me ........ yes i was refused a visa on the 22nd of june but the VO game me no reason but i think it was due to the mistakes i made in my DS160 form , i didn't explain in details what i do at my current place of employment and i also didn't state i have a previous work experience even when i went for NYSC after graduation because i thought it didn't count . i filled everything out in detail in my new application and she just kept on nodding her head .
she just gave me my i20 and sevis receipt back and the white collection paper , she already kept my passport even before the last question .
thanks to everyone in the house for their advice after i was refused 3 weeks ago , God bless you guys abundantly Congratulations. I like your transcript. |

Classic90: Visa approved today 7 45am after 2 denials. B1 visa - January, 2017 and F1 visa - June 29,2017.
I give God the glory for all. Special appreciation to Mr Sojax2cool who contacted me after my last denial. He said "now that you have met me, you are getting your visa", to the glory of God, it happened. We chat and spoke daily in preparation for my visa interview. It happened. I appreciate Mr Taxrem, we spoke twice, he denied me visa once and approved my second mock interview.
I arrived at the embassy by 6 30am even though my interview was for 7 45am. We were called in around 7 30am. A young lady interviewed me in the isolated window close to the one we do fingerprint. Two people were denied before me
VO: Good morning, how are you doing? Me: I am fine and you? VO: Passport please Me: Passed passport, I20 and sevis receipt to her VO: Which school are you going to? Me: Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio. VO: Checks my i20, why the school? Me: (for my mind : you don play into my hands) Asides the recommendation I got from Dr David, an alumnus of the school, I did my further research and I discovered they have a line of commited and dedicated faculty members. 90 percent of their professors were on the field, before delving into academics VO: Yes yes all business schools are like that Me in my mind : Jesus what will I say bayi ?) I found out Prof Greenwich is a Veterinary Doctor and excelled in the Veterinary enterprise, I will get more from his experience . VO: What course did you do in UG ? Me: Veterinary medicine VO: So why a business degree? Me: It will help me to excel in the business world . When I was young there is this big veterinary enterprise on my street that spurred me into studying Veterinary medicine. MBA will give me the necessary skills to become a great business man. VO : How did you know about the school? Me : Dr David my AVO, in Kano who is an alumnus of the school told me about the school VO: Oh, you schooled in Kano? Me: No my compulsory NYSC was in Kano VO: what the you do there? Me: I was the resident Vet Dr there where I worked for Kano state gvt VO: What have you been doing since then? Me: Immediately I finished I started my Vet clinic with my friend Dr Yomi, where I do checkups, disease diagnosis and treatment for animals VO : Which animal did you specialize on? Me: Dogs mainly VO: I have been in Nigeria for a while and I have not seen one single Dog Me: There are Dogs in my area, people keep them for pet and security purposes VO: Which case do you see often Me: pardon?, she repeats herself while I compose myself. Endo and ecto parasites mainly, then towards the end of the year, parvo virus cases. VO: who will be paying? Me: My mum VO: What does she do? Me : My mum professor Bolanle.... VO: cuts... Oh she is a prof? Me : yes VO : which dept Me : psychology VO: I will be issuing your visa Me: I couldn't feel my body anylonger. I was so light. Thank you Ma, I said got my white paper and started running to inform my people
I did not tell anyone I was going for an interview excess Mr Sojax2cool and Mr Taxrem I practiced and practiced and look for more backup answers I committed it into the hands of God, I asked for favour. Only God gives visa. Adequate, I mean adequate preparation is key also. It gives you the confidence that there is no question that you can't answer without fidgetting You might not be able to go through all transcript from the forum, you can still try to. If your interview is close, type VO and your course under the search, you'll see good transcripts. The first transcript for my denial someone called me 'Dumb' , it was painful but that didn't discourage me. That one gets once visa doesn't mean one is the wisest, the person got connected to the right information some didn't have access to. I wish everyone the best. Thanks so much Congratulations. Don't leave what in your luggage? |

lalahhh: Congratulations......... I was scheduled to go for the interview today. I went there but I was denied. Here is how the interview went. VO - Good morning Me - Good morning, how are you? VO - Fine thank you . Please pass your passport and I 20. Me - I did VO - so why Arcadia University Me - I did an online research and I liked the structure of the program at Arcadia. Arcadia offers better expose and ... VO cuts in VO - why Arcadia University Me - apart from this, one of my undergraduate lectures told me to apply to Arcadia University VO cuts in VO - You are still not answering the question I asked you ... Me - like I said I did an online research and my sister did too and we decided for Arcadia University VO - U know what, I did the same course you are going for. So why Arcadia University why not the school I attended . I bet if I google schools who offer IPCR I won't find Arcadia. VO presses the keyboard and says you see I can't find Arcadia but I can find the school I went to. VO - I regret to you inform but you cannot be granted the visa at this point . Pls go back and do your research well and come back. Me - when should I come back ? VO - you can come back tomorrow if you get a space while booking . So I left , I'm planning to try again. I don't know if I said anything wrong or probably the answer I gave him wasn't enough. Pls tell me so I can prepare for the next appointment. You didn't answer the question the VO asked. He asked "Why did you choose this school" but from what I'm seeing, you answered "How did you hear about this school?" The VO knows it's a small school and so if you're going there you need to have a good reason for doing that. The name of the school sounds the same as where the sky people lived in "The 100" series Anyways all you need to do is be better prepared and work on the answers to all the likely questions. It's all about preparation and God. |

gaviria: No one can pick a school for you because i don't know the kind of schools you'd like (Tier) so you'd have to decide yourself. But UTD is good and from this thread ETSU seems to give a lot of scholarship and GA. You can find schools using GRE in these pictures, although It's not complete. I had deleted them from my phone, i just had someone I sent it to earlier resend them but he too couldn't find the rest. I hope you and others find them useful. So I found the last one. N.B: In each box of every state, the schools are arranged in order of competitiveness/ranking from the top.

tosinooo: Hello house, this thread is very informative. Keep up with the good work. I'm in a state of dilemma and I need some educational advice. I've written gre and toefl with scores of Q155 V 153 and 96/120 respectively. However, I was denied admission into LSU and Texas A&M for fall 2017 admission. I felt the reason is because my gre score is low and have decided to write another but I need advice on safe schools to apply to as I don't want to be disappointed again. I have a Cgpa of 4.13/5.00 in BSc Chemical engineering and would like to go for master's in chemical engineering too. Thanks as I await a speedy response Which of the Texas A&M? Because College station is > others( Kingsville, Commerce etc). College station is very competitive. But if it's Kingsville then I'm guessing it's probably the other parts of your application, like LOR and SOP because your GRE is okay for the school. Your CGPA is good and for LSU do they do rolling admission? How early or late did you apply? Do they have a GRE Quantitative cutoff for their Engr courses? Some schools might have theirs at 160 or less. So you need to know these things. Those are the factors you need to consider. If you feel you can do better in your GRE and you're not considering spring 18 then you can write it but if not, there're schools your GRE and profile generally would get you into. However if you're waiting till fall 18 I'll advice you take another GRE and get above 310 (160 and above in your Quantitative). |

What sponsor should a 40yrs Masters applicant who already have good numbers of managerial corporate experience married with two kid....his office is ready to sponsor her, her uncle also, and she also have some money with her too
quote author=DeeTus post=58277306]The VOs look at the information you supplied on the computer first before making a decision whether to grant or deny application. Then talks to you to verify it. This is particularly why some interviews are so short, while others are long. Self sponsor. |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by gaviria: 1:49pm On Jul 09, 2017 |
DeeTus: I did not talk about the number of candidates. I only talked about "self-sponsor" because she thinks it's not good enough when heading to the embassy for visa.
Try to comprehend well next time. I think she comprehends very well because I understood what she said and it made sense. How many people have you seen that the VO asked for their bank statements? At least in recent time on this thread, not much and we can maybe count those that were asked for bank statement in Part 11 in one hand. And you won't fill in your bank account balance nor that of your sponsor in the DS-160 form. When you say you're going for your masters or whatever and you're sponsoring yourself, you have to give the VO a very lucrative business or how successful you've been to have made that kind of money. Some VOs won't ask, they'll just conclude that you don't have sufficient funds if you say you're self sponsoring, others might ask and others might conclude in your favor that you probably have the finances to sponsor yourself. I think what she and lagosismyhome meant was that instead of you putting yourself at the mercy of the VOs assumption, it's better/safer to have a joint sponsor, someone older and with obviously longer experience in the labor market to have made enough money to sponsor you. I'm not saying self sponsoring denies you visa or not good enough I'm just saying to be on a safer side, and again it depends on the type of job you want to tell the VO you're doing that earns you enough to self sponsor. |

Well the VO would probably know but then it's not his/her job to choose your school for you, if you actually want to go there which isn't advisable all you need do is prepare very well for your interview. Convincing the VO is all the interview is about. |
