towbaynah: There are bad reviews and there are bad reviews. With this review you've just posted of Delta airline, I'll still go with them. Yes, it sure looks like they fell short, in a way, in the area of customer service but you need to factor in a number of circumstances when you choose to fly with an airline. There's no glaringly obvious terrible event or person in this review. But then, there's no established metric for quantifying what exactly is 'terribly bad' in terms of customer service among airliners. My judgment may be subjective.
That said, I posted that review of Royal Air Maroc because I found it very disturbing and didn't want any NLer to experience such. If I find a similar review of Delta, I most definitely will let this e-family in on it. Lol. Well that was the first review I came across and it was from a local flight. I didn't get to the international flight reviews and how they treat passengers during long haul flights, yeah we all know Delta is >>>> Air Maroc but then all airlines have bad reviews and all airlines have their own issues with long stopovers. So the best advice to give is book a flight with shorter or the shortest layovers to avoid stories that touch. Be it Maroc, Qatar, Air France, KLM, Delta etc. |

towbaynah: For those who want to follow Royal Air Maroc.
Oh my. All airlines have good and bad reviews. The same Delta he was talking about forcibly kicked passengers off their planes some months ago. Everyone/airline has their good and bad traits. So don't post that of Air Maroc if you won't post the bad reviews of other airlines. Because some people actually have good experiences with the same Air Maroc. Customer review of Delta. I had a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta and connecting flight from Atlanta to Virginia. "Due to weather" we were in the air for an hour on which I got left behind from my connecting flight. I got to the gate at 10.30 and the flight was departing at 10.40 and the plane left early. I was left behind in an airport and city I don't know. I proceeded to the gate where Delta employees were "helping" customers, but in reality they weren't. One employee started yelling at a customer for not standing in a single file line. After waiting for almost an hour to see if I could catch another flight to my final destination, I finally got to the counter and the delta employee was rude, not helpful and wasn't listening to my needs. All he offered was a flight the next day at 12.07 pm and told me if I didn't like it I could get on the phone and find an alternative. So I got on the phone with a Delta representative, explained my situation and she wasn't helpful either. I asked to be put on a flight with the partner airline that was leaving that same night and her response was no. After being on the phone for 45 mins all I got was a flight from atl to Norfolk at 7am. I got to Norfolk at 9.05 so had missed my interview and was also one hour and 30 mins from from my destination. I am not pleased at all with the way Delta managed the situation. On top of all that my connecting flight from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale got delayed by 2 hours and no information was given on why it was delayed. Needless to say I will not recommend or flight with Delta again! P.S: I don't work for Air Maroc. |

segunojo866: interview is about God. If it's your time to travel location of interview those not matter. But Abuja is a difficult nut to crack. This is because there have enough time to ask you all the questions in the world and denied a person because of one small mistake but Lagos consulate don't have time to verify document or ask a lot of questions because of too much population. It's an embassy of opportunity and any body can get a visa if you are prepared. Lagos embassy is mainly how good your response is but Abuja you may answer all questions perfectly but the consular is not convinced. Another thing, there re three consular that normally interviewed in Abuja and all three are not so easy to get through. Lagos on the other hand have up to five and only one skinny old looking lady that everyone is complaining about. You're are wrong. |

So you'll go to a community college and still transfer to the same university you didn't pick initially even after getting admitted? Community college over a university??! Temitope746: VO: Good morning, pass me your passport and I-20
Me: Morning ma, (as I pass my passport and I-20)
VO: what do you do?
Me: I am a student
VO: Have you travelled out of the country before
Me: Yes, I have been to Italy, Bulgaria, Cameroun and Benin Republic. I was in ICTP, Trieste Italy for a workshop and I was in Bulgaria for the international mathematics competition for University students and summer school in Cameroun and Benin republic.
VO: do you speak French.(after accessing proof of travel to Cameroun and Benin)
Me : I speak a little.
VO: what aspect of mathematics are you going to study.
Me: pure mathematics, majoring in Analysis and PDE.
VO: tell me what is the usefulness of the area.
Me: a lot of physical world problem rely on mathematical knowledge and Analysis and Partial Differential Equation is a great tool for solving complex problem that are modeled into mathematical equations, and after a solution is obtained, mathematician translate the solutions to that which is understandable by non-mathematician.
VO: am sorry I cannot approved your Visa at this moment. Handed me my passport (after looking at the page "Cancel without Prejudice" for Italian Visa before they approved on the next page) and my I20 with the document I attached in this mail. I think you should have given a example of the complex mathematics that the mathematicians break down into simple mathematics for the layman to understand. Like how Fourier transform is a very important part of control theory which is used in virtually all industries with input/output machines and devices or how Signal processing is a major application of Fourier series and Without signal processing there's no Telecommunications or how Analysis of PDE is used in the detection and slowing down of tumor growth and it's also used in climate Modelling. OR You could have just linked it all up to coming back to be a Mathematics lecturer because it has been your passion to impact knowledge right from your cradle days as it brings you joy and fulfillment. And how you'd want to contribute to the change in the conventional (theory only) teachings we are used to in this country, as studying in the US would expose you to practical knowledge and not just theory which is an advantage for you and those you'd be teaching. I might have written rubbish sha but then I think your answer had too many technical terms as the VO just wanted to know what the area can do in real life. |

She clearly has the ability to do better, encourage her to do so otherwise she will be here this time next year lamenting on securing admissions without funding. Do not say things you're not certain about. You've not being there so just state your opinion not say it like it's a fact. You said it like you're a graduate coordinator or the dean of a department. People have gotten funding with low GRE, GRE alone is not what gets people admission or funding. So many factors are considered and it's even on some schools website and everywhere online. It depends on the competitiveness of the school and program. So Even with the 310 you scored in your GRE you still won't get admission in a number of schools not to talk of funding. So just chill sir. |

biikeys: I think you guys are missing a point here. The motivation to go to top schools shouldn't be just to be able to find a job after graduation. Of course, in some cases, it gives you an edge during job applications...conversely, you can get in top companies in America even if you graduate from an average school provided you do your homework well. But the bigger point here is the people you get to work with...That experience will not just get you a job, it will expand your thinking in a way a lot of average schools might not be able to..you do things you never thought you could do. It's a bigger picture view. That's why a lot of Ivy grads start their own small/big companies once they graduate or after working only a few years. Even if you don't start up something, you have your school/professional networks you can easily follow up with incase you want to work on an idea and need help. Of course, there are exceptions..but that should be the driving force. Getting a job on its own should not be the peak of anyone's career, rather making a difference with what you know! That was not the point initially. This is your own point sir. |

justwise: There have been many success visa interview stories here before this strange idea of private mock interview thing started, so you can not attribute recent success to mock interview.
This thread is 8yrs old with huge success stories and this mock interview thing started just last year or so.
1.What it is about visa interview that can only be discussed in private and not here?
2. What is that tremendous thing that can only be gained in private interview that is not possible here? Can you name any?
This thread is the fastest growing thread in this section and that is because people make their contributions here and not in private. Coaching someone would not work well if it has to be done on the website. So many people with different issues, imagine posting your answers to all the probable questions, and having people edit it and post it here after correction. It won't work well. We'll be in part 12 or 13 already if that's the case. Some people need personal coaching, and I believe if pms aren't permitted and supported by the platform, the opportunity to do that won't be provided. |

Okobana: hello evryone;i nid info about diploma programmes in usa.the requirements and d possibl cost .tanks Google it first. People here knew it too by using search engines. If you google it, you'll have an idea of what it's about so when you ask questions that are worthwhile here, you'd key into the answers you get quickly. And nobody would tell you the requirements because it varies from school to school, same with the cost. So use your qualifications to search for these things and then you can come back to ask worthwhile questions. |
