Back to the peugeot 607. Every one in the office had been avoiding the peugeot 607 engine replacement. It is well rusted underneath, and during the course of removing the old engine, it drew blood . After church on Sunday tuned my phones to silence mode, and went in Guns blazing Problem 1. The exhaust bolts, at the junction were rusted, and a replacement (along with catalysts) had been sourced, but getting the old one out was the task. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999003_img20151025132710_jpeg25828551d92246a138def97fcde842a5 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999002_img20151025132703_jpeg4084b3926ffb5b0456c9396501a08c92 there's the evil joint www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999010_img20151025132742_jpeg9cfa98c02975083e0be71686240f763d and theses are the replacement catalysts www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999011_img20151025132734_jpeg83d30be865fb87128e06f0ef3a304d71 instead of working under the car to try to losen the bolts, I decided to remove all the exhaust rubbers and pull the exhaust forward from engine bay to have better access www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999000_img20151025132633_jpegfdfeb66772e480cd89e8ca2731fc71f9 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999001_img20151025132643_jpeg7758208c20c2b485371a3f2d6a22a926www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999012_img20151025132945_jpeg348b0915cbb4fbe86832fdea244a13f0 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999013_img20151025133006_jpeg4df4dc6549b521c501f1a87273a9301b www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999508_img20151025132945_jpeg348b0915cbb4fbe86832fdea244a13f0 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999509_img20151025140710_jpeg484dcedffc6f33abfe7ab8460f8aaf59 even after being soaked with WD40 penetrating oil over. Night, the bolts and nuts were still stiff, and broke off 1 at a time www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999534_img20151025134038_jpegd2de313c25872456b8ead472a3f5cc5d 13mm bolts became 12mm and even 11mm at one point www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999535_img20151025134031_jpeg471af27fc34f4357f8cea9849be8ddf9 two hours later, after a lot of banging and swearing [s]and asking my self why I accepted this job[/s] all. Bolts and nuts were broken off. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999536_img20151025140234_jpegc0d75320937ea7eadc738ca9a9f50a1b installed the new catalysts and began preparing the new engine for installation in the engin bay. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999537_img20151025140656_jpegd1e911fc52294785e54546a22da3e5c7 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2999510_img20151025143203_jpeg31a17390b6193f861edc46ae2d031d42 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2988179_img20151022115019_jpegcfec3c5105f667222c9c36ef9bba863c 6hrs later engine sits perfectly in the bay.
