Car Talk › Re: Need Help To Resolve Error Code C1201 In 2010 Rav4 by GAZZUZZ(m): 6:37pm On Oct 19, 2015
I wouldn't rely completely on that scan code.

But it's possible the engine Ecu is bad.

An engine requires compression, spark and fuel in the right sequence.

When the car shuts off find out what is lacking. Also clear that error and see if it comes up again.

Corrola 05, paintwork started.

Pics later.

Accord 07, kpom sounds on the front right wheel were caused by 2 things.

1. Bad lower ball joint.

2. No anti squeal in brake pads.

Ball joint replaced.

@Gazzuzz good afternoon.
I noticed that my honda accord 98 is a rust bucket cos the doors have noticable rusts, the back tire area has opened into the trunk area.
A panel beater has said the fuel tank will be removed for a thorough job to be one.
My question is this- do you also do such works? Cos I will prefer a lasting solution to this embarrassing issue.
Thanks
Rust rust rust.........

I flee from rust.

It is fixable but I avoid such jobs.

Your mastery of automobiles is really amazing. You appear to have answers to every question. I use a Honda civic 2008 model and recently I realised that each time I put the car in drive especially early in the mornings, I hear this funny squeaky noise which stops after a short while. Kindly help with this issue. Regards.
Squeeky sounds

A lot could cause the squeekies, but my guess, based on the age of your car is, worn out brake pads or substandard brake pads.

The brake pad wear indicators could have kicked in and currently doing their job.

Please, my car makes one kpro kro sound when I apply breaks on start up. But in motion, it does not make the sounds. A mechanic examined it nd told me it is the break pad, which he advised me to get Yamashida break pad to change the current break pad. But I have been unable to get the Yamashida break pad type for the car(1998/1999 Nissan Primera 2.0i salon car). Also the front inner upper arms of the car makes kiti kiti sounds on motion when driving in bad or uneven roads(usually slowly), but former mechanic said it is stabiliser bushes, but I have to change the entire stabilisers, yet the sounds persist. It was later discovered by my new mechanic that it is not stabiliser problem but the two upper arms need changed completely. Please I need the guru in the house to help me confirmed the problems , the solution and cost of the upper arms nd the yamashida break pad. I have searched around Zuba spare parts market for the yamashida break pad, but did get the type for the car.
I hear a kitity kro kro sound, Ifa what can it be? grin

my mechanic can't actually find the leakage he said it maybe from around the shaft area, please what can be done. the gear changes fine but when the oil is down it misbehaves.
The yellow kekenappep? grin

It's your CV joint (shaft) seal. Remove the CV joints from the transmission and change the seals.

I drive an Accord 2007 V6. When I push the brakes hard, I could feel some grinding vibration on my foot which gives a poor braking distance. The brake disc and pad have been changed. What is the cause and solution pls? Also, I haven't changed the Transmission oil yet at 71k miles..Do I need to change it? I have the ATF-Z1 at the finger tips.

Thanks

Hello House,

I am on the verge of buying another gear for a Honda Accord 1999( baby boy 4 cylinder). The D4 sometimes do not drive unless I put it in other gears(D3 to 2 to 1) till it picks; however, this is done randomly. This only happens whenever I have a stop but moves perfectly on the move. Someone advised that its a gear selector issue to be changed and others say I have to buy another one..

Though, its relatively cheap but mehn that money plenty on the other hand.

Please I need your view on this; if truly is to buy another gear or to fix the gear selector.

Thanks.

Gazzuz, lomomike, cardoctor, luvinhubby, et al, pls assist
Have the vehicle scanned. If there are no codes, replace the transmission.

Again, to demonstrate that I do NOT want to deliberately blackmail, de-market, dis-credit, insult or offend you...I have intentionally posted my reply on this thread instead of your repairs thread. In addition, I do not see the benefit to me, you or the client of opening another thread of issue(s).

My brother, GAZZUZZ...

Looking at your last reply, there are alot words/commentary I would have used to reply them but whats the use?
Will the words fix the issue(s) NO
Will the words make you pleased? NO

I could have told you details of how I offered and initiated a partial refund of N2,000,000 i.e. two million naira (bank receipt still exists till date) to customer after I had bought, shipped and delivered his SUV complete with original clean title documents, shipping receipts+Bill of Lading and Customs papers, just for peace and to save my name. But why bore ourselves with history?

Thus, I will try not to use too many more words.
You may not agree with my statements (and that is normal) but I believe they are clear enough.
If you had OR have any complaints with customer's conduct at any point during the work, kindly address the client directly and promptly.
No one is perfect, including me.

Right now, I will try to invest my resources in fixing my strained relationship with "your client?" arising from this work. It a relationship that has existed for years and I do not think engine, money or spare-parts can buy it...
You so called friend/client (if it's not you) is not a straight forward person.

* He has no trust
* Does not live up to agreements made on.
paper.

Please go through the paper work in his possession. It is stated clearly what he paid for, and what he didn't.

He has a scanner he scanned his vehicle he has a lean mixture code on bank 1. Pic above is that of his scanner.

A lean mix is not life threatening but unfortunately he did not pay me any diagnostic or scanning work.

He complained about a tapping noise, the noise is from the valves and they require adjustment (every 15,000miles) I did not raise the issue of the tapping because

It would require opening a tokumbor engine and after wards installing new rocke arm seals. The way (you)/your client was complain about money I didn't want to bring up more parts to the situation. As I said, before the job was completed he had already come to the workshop with a taxi to collect and sell his old engine and compressor as scrap in ladipo. I had to fore warn him to remove and keep his (throttle body, coils, injectors, coolant sensors, crank sensors cam sensors, e.t.c) as they might be useful in future.

I rent a very expensive workshop, I don't work under a tree and running round in circles for a customer that DEFRAUDS you does not make it any better.

Your friend(you) is not a good person and I am not ready to work for him any more.

I have blocked him on whatsapp and I do not pick his calls. Please since you are (him) his friend ask him if he still wants the a.c compressor?

My offer on the engine has left the building.
