A naval officer bought a car with plate and used it for 3years without doing change of ownership. When I bought the car, I decided to call the first owner whose name and phone is on the allocation ...the man warned me not to buy the car cos there was issue.. long story short ....the car was booked for traffick offense of 30k....but the first owner was sent letters from alausa....Recently someone I know sold his car with plate number and relocated to abroad...you cannot believe that Sars came knocking on the first owners door who has since left for overseas...The claimed the car with that plate number was used to rob someone and the person was killed ...they now traced it to the first owner...The point I am making is that we 've to stay safe in this line of business...infact I remove my plate before u go

I have a similar problem with my 2005 Toyota Camry XLE with an automatic transmission. In the morning when the car is cold it doesn't engage 'Drive' unless I first press the pedal down and rev the engine then it suddenly engages with a Jerk! Reversing works fine. Also sometimes when the car has gone a long distance or been stuck in our Lagos traffic for long, While moving, with the car on 'Drive', and I am pressing on the accelerator and trying to shift over 80kmph, it feels as though the car is automatically reverting into neutral. I say this because I can clearly hear the engine revving up, but the car is not moving any faster. If I completely step off of the accelerator, and "pump" the pedal repeatedly, eventually, it will begin to accelerate again. this issue seems to happen sporadically, or intermittently.

I have replaced the ATS, changed the filter underneath. But the problem still persists.

Please guys what could be the problem?

A mechanic told me that when you buy a tokunbo car, when doing the servicing, like changing oil, and some other things. he said it is necessary to change the gear oil also.
Another mechanic said no need of changing the oil, that I should just top it with the required type of gear oil, he said if I change it the gear might get spoilt. blabla..
