Hello Gazzuzz. Recently i noticed blue smoke from my v6 99accord while idling. Its not heavy but this is the first time i have noticed it. Normally it is white when i start it in the morning when engine steams for a while it goes away but now its blue and does not go away. What might be wrong? Is it safe to drive the car over long distances.

what have you been using before now?

If vehicle was just imported, the oil grade is stated on the oil cap as 5w30. Use any reliable brand of engine oil

If you have been using 20w50 for as long as you can remember stick with it and shorten the oil change intervals.

next time. Stop engine turn on hazard light and Tow vehicle

coolant temp sensors read temp of the fluid in contact with sensor, there was no fluid in the coolant lines

For the waterpump was it a new one?

head Cylinder gasket is damaged.


My advice

Resurface Cylinder head

Replace head gasket

Replace engine oil

Replace valve stem seals

Replace water pump with brand new oem

Replace rocker cover seals

Replace radiator

Ensure you use coolant.

However, there's a way to test for damaged shafts. You can force him to do that if he hasn't.

This is what I'm saying; you better stick to the same config engine oil like mine that you've been using which has as well been working well for you just like mine is working well to avoid stories that touch.

Small time from now if you let them play upon your intelligence; they will tell you to change the engine of your car and start using the so-called oil that is not readily available in Nigeria. You will start begging them and stressing yourself out getting the so-called oil even with you spending nothing less than N20,000 to get the oil.

Anyways! The decision is yours and I wish you best with whichever one you go for.

Are catalytic converter and 02 sensor recommended to be changed after a certain period of time like the engine oil by the manufacturer of vehicles? They only advise one uses OEM version of the spare part for optimum performance of the engine.

You buy quality ones of those items, then you use them for years and they will also have good impact on the engine! I decided to buy those ones in USA for longetivity purpose because we all know that must ones available in Nigeria are of low quality.

Thank God you as well confirmed the so-called oil is not available in Nigeria. Since Gazzuzz failed to answer my question of if Mobil is not sensible or not aware of the recommended oil not to have made it available in Nigeria but in USA.... You can answer it.

They must have their reasons for not making it available in Nigeria but they made others like Mobil XHP available. Everyone shouldn't get me wrong that I'm telling them not use the synthetic recommended oil... Anyone can use it if she/he has time for the stress let alone disappointment of looking for the oil which is only available with some so-called god of mechanic based in Lagos state only out of the 36 states that are in Nigeria.

My point has been why will I want to stress myself when recommended alternatives like Mobil XHP are readily available in Nigeria and not some people calling themselves god of mechanic will start chronically attacking and seeing those using the alternatives as badwagon and unwise people whereas they are the unwise one.

Common sense is not common though but I will advise everyone to officially ask Mobil the reason(s) they are not officially bringing in the synthetic brand like the one the so-called god of mechanic are biasely advertising and selling to Nigerians into Nigeria.

I will even like have the official response of Mobil regarding this on this page and I know that they will surely do that soon or later! !!

They are not a scam company. I have gone there on many occasions looking to buy a car. The last time was for a venza 2012 being sold for 4m. The comprehensive report they gave for that car was deep and as such you have the option of buying as it is. They sell the car as it is and they let you know rhe true condition of the car before you buy. How many dealers tells their customers the true history of the cars they intend to sell. They bring in salvage cars and fix it and want to sell as it is and until you pay for carfax, then you get the real story behind the car. That is the highest deceit any car dealer will do and they are rampant. Tales abound of cars mileage being reduced to enable the buyer to be happy with his deal but when you scan the car, a whopping 200000kms have been removed. This issue will never occur with cars45 and you will know the condition of the car you are buying up to the point of cigarette lighter. Used car dealers are envious of an idea that is meant to show confidence in the sector. How many times have you seen a car sold on jiji with a good price and when they bring the car for inspection, it is a sorry case?

I parked and switched off the engine, restart and engage the gear yet the car didn t move. I 've called my mechanic to check it while I join a cab to work. Gear hasn't been worked on before, gear oil is intact (faint pink). Please any suggestion because I don't trust all these kazeems. Car is corolla sport 04. c.c Gazzuzz, autologic, deportivo.
