obi4eze:100% correct. In fact, Nigeria is displaying many of the characteristics of a failed State already. The economic hardship sure to come because of falling oil prices and a weakening Naira means that Nigerians cannot afford to mess around with a corrupt, irresponsible spendthrift like GEJ if at all we do not want to end up totally failed like Somalia or Afghanistan. |
IyaIode:Indeed. I don't even get where Nigeria is going under this despotic President. Yes we are very divided currently, courtesy of GEJ and his polarising ways, but every decent Nigerian should know it is wrong that it is our President who is openly and shamelessly sponsoring the growth of armed militias that surely indicates chaos for his own country and people. This is how Odili bankrolled the birth of militancy that is still troubling the SS till today. Other leaders concentrate on creating professional. modern and effective security forces our President is shamelessly empowering illiterate thugs and trouble-making miscreants. Nigeria which way? |
IyaIode:Blame our useless, desperate and totally callous President who is sponsoring and empowering militia groups and gun-toting militant warlord to the detriment of law and order. While the mates of Jonathan worldwide are looking for ways to make their police and armed forces more competent and stronger our own President is sponsoring militancy and militia group who operate lawlessly and specialise in terrorising society with violence. This is why other world leaders dislike GEJ passionately. They always see him doing the opposite of what will develop his nation. They must be thinking can Nigeria not do far better than this guy and how on earth did the biggest black nation on earth end up with this destructive character as her President. |
Mortiple: lakesidepapa:You guys are wasting your time responding to someone who has probably never set foot in Lagos but must comment on the affairs of the state because of blind devotion to GEJ and his PDP Party. This is the wickedness GEJ has caused by empowering and compromising a militia group like the OPC. How many Nigerians know that the proliferation of armed militia group is another characteristic of a failed State. Yet in Nigeria where many have lost their sense, because of ethno-religious prejudice, some can still support a vile and destructive President promoting lawlessness, violence and killing through the deliberate act of sponsoring militia lawlessness. This is a President all sensible Nigerians must reject come saturday. Imagine formally sponsoring militia groups headed by unthinking thugs while serious Nations focus entirely on improving the strength, efficacy and professionalism of their police and armed forces. As if cursed in Nigeria, we gain a President happy to assist the Country to fail via neglecting our armed forces to be promoting militancy and milita lawlessness. Totally crazy and this is still like a dream for civilised folks who have experienced life beyond Nigeria. This is simply not done in even semi-serious nations !!! Jonathan, as has been said many times before, is a very dangerous President who has to go before he destroys Nigeria completely . He continues to set unsavoury precedences that will surely make Nigeria fail as a nation. Why sponsor and empower militia menace that can destroy a nation for god sake? All for the sake or retaining a job you do not deserve and are lousy at? |
GBTYO:That Buhari has the support of the poorest Nigerians most prone to engaging in acts of violence is whose fault? Did Buhari make them so poor and disenfranchised to the point these people who have absolutely nothing to live for are now ready to fight for a man, i.e GMB, they perceive as their only hope of salvation and deliverance from the undignified life of poverty and deprivation the PDP has condemned them to? Did the poor, neglected, abandoned, ill and hopeless in society not flock to Jesus? That the most poor, least educated, most neglected and most angry Nigerians support Buhari is a measure of his goodness even if a wicked soul like you cannot perceive this. Should those who have lost hope persevere with the callous GEJ who lets them die like chicken, uses ten air-planes when they do not even have a bicycle and eats N1 billion food annually while many can barely eat a meal a day? Thank the famed docility of Nigeria that the likes of GEJ you worship have not ended up like Samuel Doe for their heartless and inhuman looting. To top it off, and as another measure of your lack of intellect, you claim Buhari will truncate our democracy yet I must ask if you even know the meaning of democracy. Democracy is a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. Can it be said we have had true democracy under the PDP and GEJ? Does the PDP use the money of Nigeria on Nigerians i.e the people? Are Nigerians empowered under the PDP? Have they acted in the interest of ordinary Nigerians to validate the notion that power resides with the people in a democracy? Instead the PDP, including the GEJ you worship, loot copiously and reward themselves massively while they give the people nothing. Nada. Zero. You will see true democracy when Buhari wins because he will lead for the people and make their well-being the cornerstone of all actions and policies his government will initiate. That the almajiris, talakawas and akushes worship GMB and queue behind him is a credit to the character of Buhari. These people, even if elitist "suffering and smiling" sycophants like you do not acknowledge it, are in the majority in our nation. They are the ones all of us who are privileged must focus to uplift and not insult, disenfranchise, discountenance or look down upon. Yes the poor and ignorant queue behind Buhari but this is because he is their main hope that there own children and offspring can escape the fate which has befallen them courtesy of the misrule and monumental corruption of the PDP at the centre. I don't back violence. I condemn it vehemently but understand why people who have absolutely nothing to live for are ready to fight , in a country full of very wicked and heartless leaders, for the emergence of a decent, godly and pro-people leader they are sure will do his best to improve their lives and give them something to live for. We are all praying for a violence-free election but never you ever, even with your wicked and anti-people soul, speak as if Buhari should be ashamed that the poorest of the poor and those who have lost hope completely are his biggest and most passionate followers. If Nigeria were not a Country full of wicked souls then we would not be hosting disdain in their hearts for so-called almajiris and talakawas. We would all be looking, as quickly as possible, to liberate them from the poverty, lack of opportunity, abandonment and deprivation that has condemned them to be what they are. |
Sooroptimist:It is. Some other chap has already stated similar when he claimed his boss threatened to sack him if he does not vote GEJ. Too many attention-seekers on NL. |
stephenqueen:This is the best attitude when dealing with TANdroids and Jonathanian robots. They can fool themselves with these bogus polls. Realistic folks know what is the case on the ground. In fact this reminds me of how the PDP put out the rumour that Atiku was leading Buhari and on course to clinch victory to be the APC candidate. We all know what happened in the end. Abeg leave these jokers to deceive themselves. We understand they are desperate and will cling to anything to include fake news that makes zero sense. |
Billyonaire:Attention-seeking fool. Talk to your fellow fraudsters and simpletons here. You know your level. |
What an arrogantly unwise, sickeningly unrepentant and insensitive statement. GEJ is telling us that Nigerians are happy with worsening darkness? This statement shows that GEJ is totally disconnected from the aspiration and needs of the electorate. Another dumb and desperate announcement that will lose GEJ many votes . |
slimfit1:Mark, and the likes of Atiku et al, has no chance. Generally, no 'old school' politician does. Buhari is only different because he stood for everything attractive to an electorate past politicians in his era were the opposite of. Where Buhari is pro-people and would die for the masses we know David Mark is an elitist and establishment man who once stated , as communication minister, that the telephone is not for ordinary Nigerians. Whereas David Mark symbolises corruption, even haters of Buhari know he is ascetic anti-corruption and immaterialistic. Mark has no chance because (1) he is old school and (2) the wrong sort of old school. |
dein77:I am telling you the truth 100%. There is no one I speak to harshly here who does not deserve it one way or the other. Check the archives to see how I wrote and related to people from when I joined NL (2009) to around 2012. You will see I always tried to be polite and made the effort to rise above insults and personal attacks. Yet I realised that NL was a forum of agberos and bullies who only get encouraged to be more uncouth and insultingly aggressive the more you ignored them. These folks clearly took the politeness of others for weakness. At some stage even the most polite Nairalander will have to start giving back as good as they get or throw in the towel and leave NL as many wonderful posters have. We can practice politics without rancour here, whether PDP or APC, as that evolves our political sophistication and environment to the glory and benefit of our nation but some people will never let this be and I have no intention of indulging those sort here any longer. |
dein77:Abeg what is your own and why do you keep stalking me? Me and the Crayon brat have a long history here spanning years and he gives as good as he gets so kindly stay out of private spats if you do not understand the relationship synergy that plays out on NL. I am never rude to posters who have not been uncouth to me. For example, was I rude to iykemoney90 above? I have being a member of NL for 5 years and believe me when I tell you that "game recognise game". Anyone you think I am rude to or "attack" deserves it 100%. If you don't want to join that group then address me politely, even when we have different opinions, and I will reply in kind. Finally, chill and stop being so sensitive. You guys take NL too seriously. |
iykemoney90:Kwankwaso could be moulded into 'Presidential material'. He is charismatic and purposeful and, as all great leaders who develop other leaders, has a movement behind his identity which testifies to his political sagacity. I.e the Kwanwasiyya movement. I think Kwankwaso is the Northerner who is most naturally predisposed to becoming the heir to Buhari. |
anonimi:Crayon brat, have you lost your mind totally? Yar Adua and Jonathan are the last dull, charisma-bypassed and accidental Presidents Nigeria will ever have. Our Presidents, from May 2015 onwards, will be charismatic and purposeful men who have the ambition to be President and, most importantly, present themselves to lead rather than inherit the Presidency through 'goodluck' or dictatorial Godfather machinations. Times are different now and Nigeria has turned the corner as all nations of the world have. The days of one man (the likes of Obasanjo et al) bringing some dull mumu to lead Nigeria and then using Government office to foist their private choice on the electorate is dead. Sambo has no chance, not even 0.001%, to become President in this new Nigeria but all others on the OP's list, minus David Mark, do because they are charismatic and purposeful men who have a following because of what they have done as leaders and not what they can do for a godfather. Your mention of Sambo shows how dull and analytically slow you are. |
iykemoney90:Except for David Mark, the other names are feasible. Like someone else stated earlier Kwankwaso would complete the list above. |
taharqa:You are nothing but a very dishonest liar with no morality at all. Even as I have discredited your lies before, and I am aware you are shameless like the GEJ you suport, I will do it again so your brazen lie is not taken for truth. Remember you peddled the same lie below back then: https://www.nairaland.com/1080624/mimiko-wins-ondo-gubernatorial-poll/4 taharqa:Sadly for you, you did not realise I had already stated that Mimiko was likely to gain a second term. People can now see you for the shameless liar that you are considering I corrected you back then as well about your attempt at deception. Below was my response to you where I even show a previous post where I had stated that Mimiko was on course to get a second term. Shameless TANdroid. Like I said, you supporters of GEJ are small-minded cretin forever unabe to discuss ideas. You are remain obsessed with talking about people. Suwegbe. https://www.nairaland.com/1080624/mimiko-wins-ondo-gubernatorial-poll/4 Are you mad? Look, I am getting fed-up of idiots like you who go around assassinating the characters of others with lies. I may support the ACN but I made it clear, on several occasion, that I am comfortable with Mimiko winning and remaining Governor because he seems to genuinely enjoy the backing of Ondo folks. Read what I wrote before the election and never repeat your crap again. Many of you run around proclaiming me as blindly devoted to the ACN when my writing actually shows otherwise. It is not my fault reprobates like you , despite being shown otherwise many times, still confuse support for a Party to mean blind endorsement of everything to do with that Party. You must think I am a rabid and unrefined feudalist like you. https://www.nairaland.com/999354/emperor-tinubu-akeredolu-says-mimiko/2 Gbawe wrote: Guys, let us see the big picture. Mimiko has done well and he will probably get a second term to continue his efforts despite Akeredolu being a genuinely progressive candidate and the sort anyone would ordinarily want involved in SW politics at the highest level. Overall, events bode well for the political future of the SW. We need to look beyond the spat of politicians, itself an inevitable by-product of the "dirty game", and focus on why we all involved ourselves in political discussions in the first place i.e the desire to see the development of our States, regions and Nation. If Ondo is witnessing progress under Mimiko, then let that continue. |
The PDP looters are simply afraid of an impending Buhari win. This is not 2003, 2007 or 2011. Buhari is a different man today, electorally, for the better whereas GEJ , after 4 years of misruling Nigeria, is a poor product that PDP cannot sell and Nigerians do not wish to buy. This is why we are seeing all these desperate antics against Buhari when they were all absent in 2003, 2007 and 2011. The desperation to stop Buhari is immense because the PDP looters know that the victory of Buhari will put an end to the "business as usual" they have all enjoyed since 1999. I pity them yet it is too late. |
ishiamu: ![]() http://www.punchng.com/news/buharis-eligibility-suit-suffers-setback-adjourned-to-april-22/ Buhari’s eligibility suit suffers setback, adjourned to April 22 |
ishiamu: You guys are really desperate. Buhari will contest the election and defeat GEJ in the end whatever desperate antics PDP deploy to stop him. |
Ngwakwe: Oga do you not know how to summarise? Another poor example highlight the failure of the GEJ "education transformation". As for Jonathan carefully "picking his target" I think you know, deep down, you are only comforting yourself. Desperately going around Yoruba land bribing and begging assumed opinion leaders who have no influence in how citizens will vote is what you term "carefully picked targets/audience"? We dey laff. |
Goodluck "Gbagbo" Jonathan. Mind you don't end up like Laurent with this sit-tight desperation. |
Controlled:He will always remain a M0r0n. These desperate TANdroids are all so predictable. Very dull and unintelligent like the corrupt, misruling and 'sit-tight' messiah they worship. |
hiredkiller:Olodo, go back to school. It is obvious GEJ has not 'transformed' your educational ability. |
ishiamu: All these TANdroids. So predictable. Anyway, Alhaji Muse has given his views about the chances of GEJ in the SW which most objective analysts will agree is correct and factually sensible. Although I can understand how the interview may be upsetting to you to the extent you then obdurately focus on discrediting the source instead of inspecting the content revealed. 'Goodluck' to you ![]() |
Rad1cal:When will you grow up and begin to reject the imbecility you are fond of displaying daily here? After all this rant you are still joining vacuously attacking the messenger and discussing people yet you fail to comment on the substantive issue is the utterance and thinking of Alhaji Muse. Even God cannot help you because your mumuism is beyond redemption. |
ishiamu:I don't know why so many Nigerians enjoy focusing on people and never the idea under discussion. You do understand that this was an interview where Alhaji Razaq Muse gave his opinion about the election. How can the article then be false? Did it claim Muse said anything he did not? Anyway, below is several other sources of the exact same article Osundefenders quoted. I think by now most Nairalanders know those who are prone to attacking the messenger simply do not want to acknowledge the message and prefer trying to discredit it. Hope you find the sources below satisfactory and will now provide an issue-based response on the utterances of Muse. http://www.punchng.com/politics/why-buhari-shed-tears-for-nigeria-muse/ http://www.nigeriatell.com/news/why-buhari-openly-shed-tears-for-nigeria-muse#.VRJvB_msWJg http://9janotebook..co.uk/2015/03/why-buhari-shed-tears-for-nigeria-muse.html |
mrmetoo1:Indeed. The man is telling the truth 100%. Even upright and morally decent PDP supporters know that GEJ squandered a golden opportunity. Under a newly convened CPC, with one governor and very few political office-holders in its rank and with being virtually unable to campaign adequately due to lack of funding, Buhari still gained 12 million votes. We must remember as well that this was against a character, i.e GEJ, with enormous universal goodwill behind him back in 2011 because of the perception he was different to the past leaders who had ruined Nigeria. Today , and after 5 years, GEJ has shown the entire world that he is probably worse than all other past Nigerian leaders combined. GEJ is no longer the "boy with no shoes". Many now understand he is a mean, highly corrupt and anti-people leader who shunned ordinary Nigerians to empower a small class of elites, AGIPs, militants and militia leaders. Buhari on the other hand is a far better-marketed, more popular and more powerful candidate today courtesy of enjoying the potent platform the APC provides. How will GEJ then win without rigging? As Muse wondered "who are the people that will vote for GEJ" in the SW which is a region where voters, probably more than all others in Nigeria, show the capacity to shun sentiments and vote for performance or against non-performance? |
Rad1cal:Cretin. Is this source good enough for you: http://www.punchng.com/politics/why-buhari-shed-tears-for-nigeria-muse/ You are nothing but a small-minded 1mbecile who has not changed in the many years he has been a narialander and remain perpetually obsessed with discussing people here and never ideas. Oponu. https://www.brainyquote.com/photos/e/eleanorroosevelt385439.jpg |
sCun:My friend, face your front. I can see you are in pain so please take your frustration elsewhere. Anyone who wakes up as frustrated as you appear to be is best avoided. |
It really is sad to see the level of patronising and totally childish deception the divisive PDP thinks it can get away with. "President Jonathan visited him and cared for him when he was sick" the flyer states. Vintage PDP. Use anything and anyone to remain in a position that affords them the opportunity to continue looting Nigeria while only giving Nigerians poverty, insecurity, darkness and infrastructural dearth in return. So Igbos should go out and vote GEJ because of the fabrication that he "visited and cared for Ojukwu"? Well, it is up to Nigerians to decide. I know liberal, balanced and detribalized Nigerians will make the right choice on Saturday because the issue, for them, is about how Nigeria has been led for the past 16 years by the PDP and not some silly desperation to curry votes with crass appeal to ethnic prejudice and myopia. 'Goodluck' to Jonathan. |
