Buhari has a chance to begin true reconciliation and development of the entire country.

He can very well resort to the self destructive path of we against them. Nigeria shall continue to have one crisis or insurgency after another. Needless to say development will continue to elude it.
Buhari is not like that. He is a fair man dedicated to the emergence of an egalitarian Nigeria working for everyone. That is how he will lead and that is how his genuine supporters believe he will lead.
PoliticsRe: War In APC Over Oluremi Tinubu For Senate President by Gbawe: 1:50pm On Apr 01, 2015
ilugunboy:
I doubt if the party in the majority will want to elect a senator from a minority party as their President.....it will be awkward to invite him when they are discussing strategy at party caucus.
It is never done and only sentimental people will think this is possible. Leadership of the House, especially the Senate, is a crucial tool for a political Party that means business. Remember you are dealing with sentimental and vaingloriously egotistical Nairalanders so don't expect them to have the ability or inclination to face reality.
PoliticsRe: War In APC Over Oluremi Tinubu For Senate President by Gbawe:
Sooroptimist1:
It seems you have been brainwashed to believe the silly lie of the i.diotic OP

The lie about a Swner or even Tinubu's wife being made Senate President is a Lie from the pit of Hell

In Nigeria's politics,it does not work that way......other zones are going to be factored in when sharing positions.......Moreso the North Central did well by voting for the APC in a ratio 4 states to 2 states for the PDP,hence might still retain the Senate Presidency but definitely will not be David Mark
My guy, stop indulging these infantile and impotent losers. Firstly, this is the the usual nonsensical lies the PDP are fond of putting in the public domain to cause discord and polarise Nigerians. Remi Tinubu cannot be Senate President because the number two and number 3 citizen will both not be from the SW. Secondly no SE Senator can be Senate President. The Party with the majority produces the Senate President. Since the APC has no Senator from the SE then that precludes the SE from the position. The sentimental n1twit going on about Tambuwal should tell us whether he became speaker under a minority caucus. These sentimental and undemocratic elements cannot understand that leaders of both houses emerge after securing the support of majority of their direct colleagues. No Party with the majority will therefore surrender their natural right to lead both houses to a Party with less members.

The Party with the majority in the upper and lower house produces the Senate President and Speaker respectively. It is as simple as that and not a point open to discussion. Yet you can expect the usual show of idiocy, delusions of grandeur, childish name-calling and empty chest-beating from losers who gambled all playing bad politics yet still want to unrepentantly hold others to ransom instead of learn useful lessons from their misadventure.
PoliticsRe: What Will Be The Fate Of The Minister Of Agriculture In GMB Government by Gbawe: 7:41am On Apr 01, 2015
Emperortj93:
APC like him
even governor of kano name a very big farm after him
What you have to understand is that the brightest Minister under the PDP is not necessarily the sharpest tool in the Nigerian box. APC will not retain Adeshina in my opinion. The best student at De Montfort University cannot expect he will be the best student at Oxford or Cambridge University where standards of academic excellence are much higher. I hope you understand that example.

Is their a chance that GMB will retain the minister of agriculture (ayo adeshina) in his cabinet when sworn in as the President of the federal republic of Nigeria come may 29? if not for anything, that man has single handedly transformed the Nigeria agricultural sector and he deserve to be giving the platform to continue transforming and improving the agricultural sector. my humble opinion though
No. No chance.
PoliticsRe: Bode George Has Promised To Leave Nigeria Soonest Over Buhari's Win by Gbawe: 7:32am On Apr 01, 2015
Shut up dull person. This is why Tinubu has always intellectually pocketed, bested and overwhelmed you. Dullard making a silly and childish promise he will now not be able to keep. PDP is dead because power at the centre, not strong political ideology, is what kept the Party together for so many years. Now that the 'stipend' from the centre has ended, George et al may even go and beg underground to join the APC.

My advise to him is to reserve some energy cos the wailing be verrrry long.

He has approximately 20yrs plus to cry so getting burnt out under 24hrs is unwise

Unless he can employ more people to wail for him
I think so too. I had to shake my head at his rant about how a young Northerner will defeat Buhari with the support of the SE in 2019. Is this guys for real? Does he not understand that 100% vote winning actions, like provision of adequate electricity, will likely be achieved under a pro-people Party like the APC whereas the PDP preferred crony-capitalism, packaged as privatisation, as its latest effort to tackle our power woes? The guy is on a long thing. I was always one of those who held that leading Nigeria towards progress is not difficult. It is the political and pro-people will to do this that matters. PDP never had it. APC does and that is the big difference.

Not so fast. He has 4 more years of wailing and gnashing of teeth

That 4 yrs would now usher in a 32yrs of humility, resignation, docility

This was explained by a Psychiatrist Kübler-Ross model as the 5 stages of grief

denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance

He is still in stage 1 Anger. By next yr he would enter stage 2, by 2019 stage 3, By 2023 stage 4 and by 2030 stage 5
His waffling is pathetic. He is one of the losers and victim of this election. Mikeansy lost it horribly. If he is not ranting undemocratically that Buhari "must be banned" he is openly and unashamedly engaging in age discrimination against Buhari. Used to have a modicum of respect for the dude but it has been ugly to watch him 'lose it' over the past few months. I fear for this dude because everything we told him would happen, beginning with showing him Nigerians will reject GEJ, will come to pass to further prove that there is no future in politics of bitterness.

Mikeansy will literally run himself mad if not careful. He will now have the 'privilege' of watching what he did not want to see happen in the next four years. I am simply too happy today to have time for him. Yet I wish him well and have told him to compose himself and perhaps take time off nairaland. A word is enough for the wise.

You can not vote along tribal lines and then turn around to accuse others of tribalism!

Buhari's election represents everything wrong about Nigeria. It is childish to even try to spin it otherwise!

How many other countries around the world will a 72 year old former dictator who left office 30 years ago win an election?

Buhari's election is a dent on the conscience of this nation so to spin it around and go on about Igbo this and Igbo that is quite frankly pathetic

We will see how Buhari solves all of Nigeria's problems in the next 4 years!
My friend, to see you this unobjectively bitter and ungracious is disappointing. Try and compose yourself. You are making a fool of yourself.

SS/SE and Nigeria at large should show concern about the trend in SS/SE states that delayed election results. The fact that there was 80-90% voter turnout when the average across the NE/NW/SW & NC was 50% begs the question of what happened? The people that protested, are they part of that 80-90%? The fact that electoral observers were not allowed to witness the election result collation is also worrisome. There is no guarantee the trend won't repeat for the governorship election. There's only so much General Buhari can do after the fact. As we know, tribunal business is tedious business that isn't always fair.
With the card readers, you can mainly rig at collation stage. This is why the SE and SS results were delayed to allow them inflate the figures. It was during collation stage the 'magic figures' were formulated. Inspection of materials later, which must not be destroyed, would show inflating of votes at collation stage. Buhari would not need to do much. He just need to direct uncompromisingly that allegations of malpractices be looked at thoroughly and exhaustively and I believe rigging will be exposed easily.

In fact reading your analysis gave me hope as regards Niger state. I was really scared it will be rigged in favour of the PDP governorship aspirant in person of Umar Nasko against the APC aspirant ( Abu Sani Bello lolo ) , but now I have hope.

Also I do like to ask , who is APC governorship aspirant for Delta state?
My brother, the PDP will quickly come to appreciate the saying "you are nothing without power". Especially under Buhari who has an obsession with insisting the right things be done. I am encouraging desperados to spend their fortune trying to rig themselves into power. Things are about to change.

the next elections are governship and state HOA - fayose is now in the fight of his life.all that pdp support and intimidation is gone. one apc clinches ekiti hoa - he is gone on may 30th
Bros, I don't want to talk too much about the situation of that joker except to say he will know 'what's up' soon. cool cool cool cool Furthermore, riggers are wasting their time because Buhari is incoming. Wike will be the biggest victim. I will personally encourage them to again try the same rigging abracadabra they did for GEJ in Rivers Presidential collation for Wike guber election also. We know Faka Jonathan is eager to have Wike as Governor but they are now on a long thing because every single election malpractice will be reversed under Buhari. The Buhari win is a tsunami for many reasons many cannot appreciate right now. Things will be very different and there will be an intolerant and permanent cull of lawless thugs like Wike, Obanikoro et al under a President not afraid to 'go there'. Buhari told them he is drawing a line in the sand. I think many do not really appreciate what this means but they will soon. My brother, like 9ice said, "let's go there".

I meant deputy senate president. But since Saraki is the likely front-runner, there could be misgivings about having the top two senators from the same tribe. She could get a committee chairmanship position; or the majority leader position.
Sorry dude, I just saw that you wrote deputy Senate President for Remi. I personally doubt, for several reasons, she would be a serious candidate for that either even discounting that she would be deemed Yoruba like Saraki.

I don't think its right to start giving post base on Appreciation, I believe this will go against what we stand for " Progressives ".

Even though we can't neglect the fact that, these are things bound to happen in today's politic which is a trade by barter system. I think there are other senators better that can take that post.

Beside Putting Remind Tinubu as deputy is not feasible as she is Yoruba , the leader and deputy speaker cannot be from a particular tribe, this APC will be mindful of.

As I see Saraki becoming Senate President. The only ground remind tinubu can be deputy speaker is when A northern is selected as Senate president. If this even Happens I still doubt remind will be Vice as APC will want to neutralize the effect of tribe, there for going for someone from another Region.
Bro, it is not going to happen that way with the APC. The Senate Presidency is a position almost as powerful as that of President. With this in mind, APC will go for someone respected by the members upper chambers who has earned the respect of others to the extent they defer to him/her. Many in the system do not like Buhari but they respects him and that is why he is now President-elect. Same way it will be easier for the APC to get progressive laws passed quickly with a respected Senate President who has clout and charisma. APC will not do things as PDP did. Entertain no fear about that.

@Gbawe, berem et al: Should Senator Remi Tinubu be the new deputy senate president? That would be a gesture of appreciation to Tinubu for his support.
She will not be Senate President. It will be a very strong and vibrant character Buhari can rely on for assistance when progressive laws have to be pushed through ASAP. It has to be a sagacious schemer, mobiliser and charismatic 'bully'. I think they will look at Saraki. Technically, he is not from the same region as Buhari or Osinbajo so the equity balance works. Tinubu will get many concessions but not one which include his wife leading the Senate.

What about Obanikoro? That useless ministerial position given to him should be scrapped and send him back to his village.
The cabinet will be disbanded automatically and the incoming President will nominate and present his own cabinet. Obanikoro's position is as useful as old currency that is no longer legal tender. In one fell swoop all the thugs who have being disgracing Nigeria are taken out. Even Fayose is in trouble but that one is a conversation for another day. As for FFK, he is totally finished. He was the worst and went far beyond the limits of decency. I was livid when the lunatic said that ISIL and AL Qaeda were sponsoring Buhari yet one has to ultimately blame the desperado President who gave such a 'druggie' loose cannon a voice. FFK and Fayose probably won Buhari millions of vote in the SW. We thank them for their efforts on our behalf cool cool cool

Under a Government that unites Nigerians towards a common target of national progress, as I am sure Buhari's government will do, I think we can achieve a lot. The sky is the limit. Imagine him still in APC at the moment, he would have had some bragging right.
Indeed. Ribadu will know in his heart that he would certainly have gained a superb portfolio under Buhari and a chance to be one of the reformers of Nigeria. Now he may lose the Adamawa guber elections and get nothing at all in the end. Now that GEJ has been defeated, he will not fight for any guber candidate except those that are in his SS vicinity because these are the ones who can continue to guarantee patronage for Jonathan and Mama Piss. Others will owe him nada after the elections and Mr.President knows this.
