There's something called the fallacy of generalization which is what you've just done. You don't just condemn all churches and discourage the young people from participating.
Do you know how many people the church helps mentally and financially? How many wanted to take their lives due to one disappointment or the other but words of hope from the altar kept them alive?

Since you read the Bible did you see where In the New Testament people GAVE EVERYTHING they had to the church? They sold landed propertied and gave to the church. What is commonly practiced today is 10% of your income(tithe), freewill offerings, and first fruits. Mind you some churches don't even emphasize on money. Some don't receive tithe others don't receive first fruits. I know pastors in Redeemed who have Office jobs. I know other pastors of other denominations who work to support their church. Don't generalize.
