The real question is why is all of this your problem?? Could it be you feel threatened? small? or perhaps you have no achievements to show for yourself? I genuinely want to know.

You are quick to forget several people on this thread have other jobs waiting and are merely waiting to see if they would take the offer or not.

That said there's nobody getting "humbled" as getting employed by nnpc is not some test of wit or intelligence. If you feel a particular way about someone's accomplishment best to keep it to yourself it's not a great look on you writing epistles coated with bitterness.

FYI: I applied for this job, did my CBT in Kaduna, interviewed on the 2nd of July, 7am batch by panel 34 (HSE) and was the first one to be interviewed by the panel on that day.

My sauce also mentioned this to me last night. The GGM HR was sent a memo to do justification to increase hirings ( this would delay APL release but better for all man). NNPC has the record of recruiting 15,000 in one exercise. This 5000 is possible as a large core of mid to top level hit retirement age over the next 2-3years. Make all of una dey pray say this sauce make am to the dinning table!

I told them before. But they felt it was too stringent to be considered. I explained in plain language. Still I was not communicating. August is by the corner. Life goes on.

One thing is most likely sure. If you had your interview on the 6th and yet to receive bank alarm, you can as well start jubilating. You likely passed.

Let's propose another theory,

Have you noticed that NNPC mails normally come in on Wednesdays, don't know about you but mine came on May 22(Wednesday) for CBT and June 26(Wednesday) for Oral Interview.

It took at least a space of one month after the CBT exams before successfully candidates where contacted.

From the above observations we can expect the APL letters to arrive probably on a Wednesday in August a month after the last batch of interviews where conducted.

Most likely date: 7th August 2019.

Again!!!
Its just a theory or an observation, it can still be wrong.

So let us all relax about this TF issue and look forward to Wednesdays.

If you're successful you'll be paid by the subsidiary you'll be working with (e.g., the Terhemba guy from NPDC). Everybody's details are in the MIS once you did the interview. Some successful people will be paid by the corporate services MIS while all unsuccessful candidates will also be paid by same corporate services.

Panel 4 here! EH! But what section were they interviewing for? Sales/Marketing

I'm yet to come across anyone interviewed by the jovial, nice, heaven-bound members of Panel 4 . It was chaired by a nice, rather young looking lady and had 4 other amiable gentlemen. 7th floor.

From the look of things, because candidates CV and credentials has already reached the panel minutes before being ushered in for the interview, the flow of the interview is determined by preconceptions from the submitted documents. Some candidates were well respected by the panel members just because of the way their previous endeavours were packaged.

A very tactical question in interview sessions. Your best route is to briefly introduce your present employer, give insights to some strengths and then pick out some weaknesses. However, end your statement by giving an account of some intiative taken (including yourself as a current employee) to address some of the observed weaknesses.

A typical answer could:

“I am proud to be a part of the XYZ company because over my last 5 years i have gained insights to the world of accounting , improved by client relationship abilities and developed by skills in the use of advanced accounting software. However, XYZ company despite its market leadership in product distribution is still plagued with issues around operational lapses that leads to avoidable loses. I have personally made recommendations to my immediate line manager on what i feel we could change to transform some of the current process to improve efficiency and curtail loses. While some of these are yet to be implemented, XYZ continues to sustain its market share but can no doubt be a much more profitable and competitive enterprise”

You can end there but expect some follow up questions eg so why do you want to leave them if you have so much belief in them?. If that happens ensure you try and draw positives from the current experience with XYZ company's and state clearly how your coming over aligns with your career goals coupled with the fact that experience gained in XYZ company has equipped you with skills and aptitude relevant to the role you seek now.

An IOC simply operates across several borders, in different countries and is typically privately owned. Clear examples could be; BP Oil, Shell, Total

NOC on the other hand like you rightly said are largely government owned. A national goverment would typically own a controlling stake in such entity. CNOOC , AramCo, Gazprom etc

I was asked difference between IOC & NOC,

I said IOC are usually owned my private individuals while NOC are owned by govt of countries.. They then asked for examples
I gave IOC: shell, chevron.. NOC: Saudi Aramco, NNPC, Statoil

The chairman of the panel, still asked me to explain IOC with the examples..i explained again going shell as an example.. He then told me NNPC has 55% shares in Shell, does that make shell a NOC? ( in my mind I was like, my village people oh )

After the interview I checked.. NNPC has 55% shares in SPDC, I should have insisted shell international not shell Nigeria
