The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has given reasons why he puts the kingship crown of his land on his wife, an action many do not see as part of Yoruba culture. Oba Akanbi is the only Yoruba Oba known to share the crown with his wife. And people say it is a desecration of the tradition. But speaking with Sun, the young monarch claimed he was functioning according to God’s revelations. He explained, “I’m saying I was sent by God to make things right in what is called kingship and leadership and to show how the past, our history, was. “My wife and I wanted to honour an event. It’s a great event. And that day when we were about to go, it was revealed to me: ‘Look at your side’ and I looked at my side and saw my wife. “And it was said: ‘Look at her head; find a crown that you are not wearing and wear on her head the crown. “That was how I gave her the crown. When God reveals something, I can’t refuse, I just have to do it, the same way Abraham was told to take his son, when he was already over 100 years old. “Yes and also when I put the crown, God revealed to me that our progenitor normally crowned his own wife.” source: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/06/why-i-share-my-crown-with-my-wife-oba.html?m=1

Popular rapper cum actor, Folarin Falana, a.k.a Falz the bad guy, has revealed why he’s still single and seriously searching, despite being a handsome young man who could have all the beautiful girls at his beck and call. The funny rapper blamed his current relationship status on his inability to find a partner who would truly love him for who he is and not for his celebrity status or for material gain. In a recent interview with HIPTV, Falz explained why he is still single in spite of being every lady’s toast. “You see, when it comes to the issue of having a girlfriend or heartthrob, it is difficult, because naturally nowadays what we see on social media or in real life are girls that just want to come close to you because of what they want to get from me. They are not girls that appreciate you for what you really have, and that is what I’m searching for. But it’s difficult to find; the ladies that come close to me tell me that they want to record a snap chat video, they want to post a picture with me online and all that, they want to exploit my celebrity status to become popular. I’m looking for someone that truly and genuinely has true feelings for me; as I am like this it is very difficult and I’m still searching”, he said. source: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/06/finding-true-love-has-been-difficult.html?m=1

The private jet service which got Dammy Krane, in a credit card mess in the US has disclosed how contemporary mobile technology assisted them to detect and track down the singer. Dammy Krane had paid Tapjets with a stolen credit card for their service, leading to his arrest in Miami on Friday. According to Tapjets, Dammy Krane was arrested alongside an accomplice, Chukwuebuka. According to the head of safety and flight security for Tapjets, the fraud was detected with a small token of authenticity. ‘[Dammy Krane] used a Samsung Galaxy 7, and messages did not come from that phone. ‘However, that same phone was used to place the online order with credit card that does not belong to him,’ the Tapjets official said. The official added that multiple accounts were opened for the transactions, but many were unsuccessful. ‘Same phone was used to register multiple accounts trying to buy with different cards until one finally worked. However, names did not match to zip codes and some other irregularities were found. ‘[A] total of five cards were used within an hour till one worked. We are 100 percent confident that our app was on that phone and order was placed via T-Mobile network from cell tower located in Miami. ‘We have coordinates of cell tower and proof that they took a car from that area to Opalacka airport. That’s where the arrest took place.’ While Chukwuebuka later got released on bail, Dammy Krane remains in detention, now facing charges ranging from fraud, grand theft and impersonation. Tapjets added that though they are not proud about the situation, they are trying to send a message to others who might want to fraud them. ‘Technology is very sophisticated and being an airline, we have access to the latest. I hope you can help in spreading the message that we are not on a witch hunt.’ source: https://peternewsonline..is/2017/06/how-mobile-technology-led-to-dammy.html?m=1

Next time you’re at the airport, you can pick them out to pass time and keep yourself occupied while waiting to board the plane. Naijaloaded, the leading Nigerian website, shares 5 types of people you meet at the airport. 1. The First Time Flyers They typically get swept off in the enthusiasm of their first flight experience. They are sometimes clueless about certain aspects relating to the flight (which is fine, since it’s their first time and we’ve all been there) and they sometimes have a lot of questions to ask. Some also tend to get excited about random events relating to the flight. They may or may not get scared or hysterical at every turbulence and they’re the only people paying attention when there’s a safety briefing on the plane. 2. The Late People They are those who are never on time for a flight, whose names are constantly being announced a few minutes before departure. Sometimes, they get left behind and sometimes they make the call, appearing suddenly on the plane, looking stressed and/or panting and breathing heavily from having run all the way. 3. The Seasoned Travellers These guys are fazed by nothing and are constantly wonderfully mellow almost regardless of what happens during the flight. Come turbulence, come smooth flight, they are hardly shaken. These category of people are typically a little advanced in years (maybe 45 or 50 and above) and have been travelling for a long time. They’ve learnt the art of staying calm and enjoying the trip, not only the destination. 4. The Business Man or Woman with the Three or Two Piece Suit As the name suggests, these people are typically always in a suit of some kind, are smart with their gait and casually display their ticket at the counter while simultaneously talking loudly (and importantly) down at someone on his/her shiny Samsung Galaxy S7/S8 or Iphone 7 or 7 plus. They are mainly business class flyers, are known by almost everyone in the airport and navigate the airport like it’s their backyard. 5. The Light Travellers Those who travel to another continent with a tiny hand-bag like suitcase, fall into this category. You sometimes look at them in awe and wonder if they’re travelling or going for a sleepover. Then, you wonder how on earth they do it when you compare your giant ‘ghana must go’ like suitcase to their hand-bag like suitcase. These types of people are mainly men and you sometimes might catch one or two stunned eyes on them. source: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/05/5-type-of-people-you-will-meet-at.html?m=1 |
