Ogiso Owodo was the 31th Ogiso of Benin Kingdom and He had a son Named Ekaladerhan and out of his many wives he was the only child in the haram and this worried the Ogiso, and so he sent out his chiefs to go and consult the Oracle, they set out to consult the oracle and one of the wives of the king followed them her name was Esagho she was known as the most troublesome in the palace. The Oracle gave directives on sacrifices to be made to break the yolk of childlessness in the palace and on their way to deliver the message, the Queen Esagho told the Chiefs to tell the king that the Oracle demanded the sacrifice of the only son, child and heir to throne as this was the solution to the problem and warned the Chiefs that either they deliver this or she tells the king that the Chiefs raped her. On hearing this news the king was devastated but obliged and asked the executioners to carry out the deal, the executioners learning of the original directives of the Oracle didn't kill the prince but asked him to disappear into the Bush and never resurface in Benin. In his wondering in the forest he picked up a lot of skills and prowess like healing and the likes which he used to survive. In the yoruba land at the time there was a prophecy of a king who would emerge from the forest and and would posses some magical prowess as seen by no other so they were hopeful and thus the appearance of Ekaladerhan and his display of this prowess as mentioned, made the yorubas crown him king. On his arrival he sighed and made the statement "ilee ife" meaning I have survived from my escape this word was corrupted by the yorubas as "ile-ife" and another statement was Izoduwa which was also corrupted as Oduduwa Back home in Benin Ogiso owodo died without a heir and the Benin people left without a king and so the people of Benin once more went to consult the Oracle who told them that the Prince was not dead and gave the the location as to where he was. Representatives went to seek him these representatives were chefs and were led by Chef Oliha. Getting to ile-ife they found that He was the king and He said as he was too old to come back to Benin to rule and also couldn't trust that the Benins could take care of any of his child should he send any, the Benin chief dismissed this and told the king they would. The king then gave them lice(iru) to take care of for 2 years and chief Oliha put the lice on the head of his servant and they came back to Benin. In Benin the lice were well taken care of strangely on the head of this servant for 2 years and when it was the appointed time they went back to ile-ife and the king satisfied sent his son Omonoyan which was corrupted again to Oromiyan. Getting to Benin he was taken to the house of Ogie Ego(Duke of Ego) who was part of the royal family at the time for training on the dos and don't of the Benin Empire and in this process he fell in love with the first daughter of the Ogie ego named Eremwinda. Oromiyan said Benin was a land of vexation "ile-ibinu and only a child born and brought up here could rule it and as such the child Eremwinda was carrying was a boy and so would rule, he left Benin. A son was born of Eremwinda but unfortunately was deaf and dumb, the Benins once more set out to ile-ife to tell Ekaladerhan of the situation and so the magic marble called "Akhue" was given to the Benins to take to take back to the child as they were told if he plays the marble he would speak. True to the prediction he spoke after playing the game of akhue and the word he spoke was his tittle name for his rule "Eweka" and so this tradition has been followed till date were the crowned prince of Benin has to go to "USE" to play the game of akhue to pick a tittle name :? from
