He only started the move that lead to his goal from the left and it's silly to say he was played on the left due to that. If you think he was played on the left vs Liverpool and had a good game, then why didn't LVG play him on the left again vs Southhampton which was the next match? He was played as a CF vs Southhampton and he scored 2 goals there again so it's more likely LVG placed him as a CF vs Liverpool.

We had to play him as a winger because LVG wanted to shoehorn Rooney and Depay stank up the whole place, and it was then we realized how he good he was at the wings.
In reality, we were finding it difficult to create chances and Martial didn't see much of the ball in the CF position so it was a good decision to start playing him on the wings where he saw more of the ball and his dribbling cause a lot of problems for the opposition. He didn't stop playing as CF because he was terrible there(he was arguably as good there) but it was because we needed him more on the wings.

I remember everything very clearly so this you saying that his cameos as a CF didn't yield positives is revisionism and i'm not surprised you had to resort to that. It's so easy to tell the truth when you do away with emotions.

It's the wages of £400k gross or £220k net i was disputing in the first place and you haven't given any reason to end my disbelieve. I still maintain that £220k is more likely to be gross than net. £400 per week is a lot of money and i really doubt he's getting that. English media don't have a clue; it's the same way they usually convert € to £ directly when reporting transfer fees and it's another confusion here for gross and net.

Rashford's development may not go the way you expect and it's very possible the current version of him doesn't improve much further in things like hold up play, ball control etc. It's all speculative.

To put things into perspective; People expect Rashford to lead the line in about 2 years time but that isn't even realistic. They don't know this. People thought a 20 year old Martial was good enough to be CF but soon they realized their folly and said he is too young but these same people expect that a 20 year old Rashford(in 2 years time) to be good enough. Is Rashford more talented than Martial currently or do you think he would be as good as him in 2 years? Is Rashford a better player than Martial already? Do you think Martial would be good enough as a CF for United in 2 years time either as a 22 year old?

At the beginning of the season when most of our players were fit, LVG didn't give chances to those players. They might turn out successful players good enough for United or they might not. The latter is most likely and it would only highlight LVG failure.

I agree but it's a little more than that. There aren't a lot of ball playing or technically sound English defenders like Stones in the market. Pep and Jose most likely believe they can teach Stones to defend or get the best out of him in a good system. It's a fair point especially when you consider that it's far more difficult or practically impossible to teach ball playing skills to a player who is very limited technically but can defend.

The quality of defending or defenders in England or the PL is currently very low. We paid a record fee of about £30m then to sign Ferdinard who technically sound and was a far better defender than this current Stones. I struggle to imagine how much he would cost in this current market but times have changed. As far as i know, City have offered £40m plus add ons but Everton are holding out for £50m(which would've been a reord fee but the pound has fallen) and i won't be surprised to see City giving in eventually because of the situation they're in; they've a quota problem and considering the silly sums they spent in the past like £42m on Mangala who has been poor for them. It's not really my business though.

The reality is if we compare the quality of our squad to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City and even Leicester, we fall short in every department. Which player in our attack was better than Leicester attack duo of Mahrez and Vardy? Or Arsenal trio of Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud before the emergence of Rashford? Or Spurs trio of Kane, Eriksen and Alli? Or City duo of Debruyne and Aguero? Or Chelsea trio of Costa, Hazard, Willian? None! How about which of our midfielders was better than Kante, Dembele, Fabregas, Cazorla, Silva et al? None!

Without Van gaal, we would have even fall far behind the top 4. We all saw how the team looked against Dortmund even with the addition of Shaw, Mkhi and Bailly in the team! No doubt the blame rest on Van gaal for his failure to bring in more quality into the team but the fact still remain that the squad was a poor one and Van gaal did his best with it.

If the £220k per week figure is true, then it's most likely wages pre tax. In England actually, when wages are quoted it's usually before tax and that's most likely the case here but the SUN decided to bump it up being the piece of sh1t they are.

That's why since LVG left Ajax, he hasn't come close to replicating the level of success he had at Ajax because he wasn't even the major person responsible for it in the first place. Do you think you can get teams playing total football or possession football in 3 years?
No it simply doesn't work like that. It takes decades of planning and organisation. That's why what LVG tried to do here wasn't gonna work in such short period of time. He would need at least 10 years and we don't have such time.

Even last season wasn't that bad, all we needed was a capable replacement for the aged Carrick and a quality right winger. It's a pity that LVg got it wrong with the injury prone Schweini as he did thought he could have shared the burden with Carrick in the midfield but in the end, we had to rely on the ageing Carrick alone 'cos Schweini's was too injury prone.

Last season wasn't bad? It was a disaster and we're still here left to lick our wounds considering we aren't even in the champions league because LVG failed to achieve the bare minimum of making top 4. We didn't even remotely come close to competing for the title in a year that it was won by Leceister.
Whether Carrick/Bastian was injury prone or our lack of right winger are none issues and it's none of my business. It's all LVG responsibility to see to those problems and he failed miserably and that's why he was failure here and he was shown the door.

I agree we need to replace Carrick but the signing of a single midfielder won't solve all our existing midfield problems. We need at least 2 signings there if we are being honest with ourselves and Pogba is just one top quality player we've added there and those expecting him to transform the whole midfield are being very unreasonable.

If you think I'm wrong, tell me the single midfield player we should sign that will solve all our midfield problems.

The Europa group games and up to the round of 32 should be relatively easy games for us. And dat is d best place to gve our youth a chance while the big boys play on weekends. Every one stays fresh and well rested that way with little risk of injuries.
