Vanquay16:Do you want a link or an app or something? |
abeg make we enjoy the match jare. Arguments don do. |
Dadehmola:You're misunderstanding me again, obviously. With his image rights etc, it's possible he could be the highest paid player at the club but i disagreed with it being due to his wage of £400k gross or £220k net because i don't believe those figures and that was what your first link (SUN) contained. The bottom line is that Pogba (from all indications), could be our highest paid player & since you have agreed, there's no point going back & forth on this issue.Alright then. |
lekkie073:From my head easily, he played as CF against Southhampton scoring 2 goals in the league. Diademk07:Martial didn't start that Liverpool game and he when he was substituted in Young was playing as winger so i doubt he was told to play on the left. He only started the move that lead to his goal from the left and it's silly to say he was played on the left due to that. If you think he was played on the left vs Liverpool and had a good game, then why didn't LVG play him on the left again vs Southhampton which was the next match? He was played as a CF vs Southhampton and he scored 2 goals there again so it's more likely LVG placed him as a CF vs Liverpool. Telling the truth isn't really your forte. |
nateevs:The media might be nicer when reporting United when compared to other clubs like Chelsea and whose fault is it? Chelsea's definitely. Liverpool is actually the media's darling and not United. agrovick:Chelsea pretty much bought the titles and there's nothing shameful about that. You guys did what was necessary and i have no problem with that. ItGeek:We at United can spend as we like. It's our money and we earned every bit of it unlike Chelsea bankrolled by a sugar daddy or City sponsored by Arab money through shady deals. It's why the media is less harsh on United. Money is the single most important factor. Leceister's achievement the previous season doesn't change that. |
lekkie073:This is your opinion. I remembered when Martial first arrived, he was played as CF and was very impressive; have you forgotten? Go figure out. We had to play him as a winger because LVG wanted to shoehorn Rooney and Depay stank up the whole place, and it was then we realized how he good he was at the wings. In reality, we were finding it difficult to create chances and Martial didn't see much of the ball in the CF position so it was a good decision to start playing him on the wings where he saw more of the ball and his dribbling cause a lot of problems for the opposition. He didn't stop playing as CF because he was terrible there(he was arguably as good there) but it was because we needed him more on the wings. I remember everything very clearly so this you saying that his cameos as a CF didn't yield positives is revisionism and i'm not surprised you had to resort to that. It's so easy to tell the truth when you do away with emotions. |
Fussbot:It's a long story bro but some guys like Afrodoc2 can you give you a good recap. |
dopeJemi:You'll do well to ignore that kokaneprodigy guy. ![]() |
lekkie073:Answer those questions properly first. |
Dadehmola:I'm not disputing Pogba could be the highest paid player at the club. It's quite possible when his basic salary is coupled with his image rights. It's the wages of £400k gross or £220k net i was disputing in the first place and you haven't given any reason to end my disbelieve. I still maintain that £220k is more likely to be gross than net. £400 per week is a lot of money and i really doubt he's getting that. English media don't have a clue; it's the same way they usually convert € to £ directly when reporting transfer fees and it's another confusion here for gross and net. |
lekkie073:I talked about odds as facts. Current performances don't guarantee anything; you should understand this by now. Rashford's development may not go the way you expect and it's very possible the current version of him doesn't improve much further in things like hold up play, ball control etc. It's all speculative. To put things into perspective; People expect Rashford to lead the line in about 2 years time but that isn't even realistic. They don't know this. People thought a 20 year old Martial was good enough to be CF but soon they realized their folly and said he is too young but these same people expect that a 20 year old Rashford(in 2 years time) to be good enough. Is Rashford more talented than Martial currently or do you think he would be as good as him in 2 years? Is Rashford a better player than Martial already? Do you think Martial would be good enough as a CF for United in 2 years time either as a 22 year old? Answer these questions first so i'll see if you're reasoning with emotions or not. I don't understand why most people find it so difficult to be realistic |
Diademk07:Stop telling lies. LVG had no plans to play these youths until injuries forced his hand and he had no choice. At the beginning of the season when most of our players were fit, LVG didn't give chances to those players. In fact LVG almost broke a 78 year old record of having a youth player in every match day squad but it was injuries that saved us. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3230686/Manchester-United-s-big-money-transfer-policy-spell-end-astonishing-78-year-record-3-750-consecutive-games-youth-team-graduate-squad.html LVG is a lunatic, stupid and arrogant man who enjoys spinning the truth and telling lies and you're just like him. No wonder you support him. Also, no one says Linagrd should be a starter but he's a good squad player better than the likes of Mata and others. I would even say he's our own version of Pedro because of his heart in big games such as the City and the FA cup final. He also had a good performance against Barca in the pre-season. And another correction, Lingard didn't get his chance because he was out injured. Simple as Abc.Our version of Pedro? What madness is this again? You think Lingard is even remotely as good as Pedro or is a version of him? Pedro was a deserving starter in a world cup winning team(Spain) and was a starter in Barcelona's deadly attack of 2011 that was the Champions league? Can Lingard even make the bench of any of those teams that Pedro featured in? And you're comparing him with fecking Lingard that can't even start for United and couldn't even make this current sh1tty England's squad? Are you mad or something? ![]() If we wanna aim higher and have a good squad that can compete with the likes of Madrid or Bayern, then Lingard might not even good enough to be a squad player. It's the truth. I've addressed other point of yours and no matter what you says, no one can deny that Van gaal brought us Martial, Rashford and TFm to some extent.Martial isn't from our youth academy; we signed him for a teenage record fee so don't even mention him. Rashford and TFM have achieved nothing yet and the jury is still out on them. They might turn out successful players good enough for United or they might not. The latter is most likely and it would only highlight LVG failure. When would you stop telling lies BTW? |
Nihilist:I agree but it's a little more than that. There aren't a lot of ball playing or technically sound English defenders like Stones in the market. Pep and Jose most likely believe they can teach Stones to defend or get the best out of him in a good system. It's a fair point especially when you consider that it's far more difficult or practically impossible to teach ball playing skills to a player who is very limited technically but can defend. The quality of defending or defenders in England or the PL is currently very low. We paid a record fee of about £30m then to sign Ferdinard who technically sound and was a far better defender than this current Stones. I struggle to imagine how much he would cost in this current market but times have changed. As far as i know, City have offered £40m plus add ons but Everton are holding out for £50m(which would've been a reord fee but the pound has fallen) and i won't be surprised to see City giving in eventually because of the situation they're in; they've a quota problem and considering the silly sums they spent in the past like £42m on Mangala who has been poor for them. It's not really my business though. A40:I know. Pep isn't exactly great in the transfer market even at Barcelona considering his failure with that Ukrainian and other bigger profile signings like Ibrahimovic. But i remember he got a young Pique back from us, and the rest is history. He likes and is better generally with younger players i think and there's a good chance Stones can thrive under his guidance so people shouldn't be so swift to dismiss the signing. |
Vanquay16:I won't say anything further. If we were to place a bet on him succeeding as a top striker for us, what do you think are the odds for and against? I'll know where to put my money. I'm being realistic here, he's more likely to fail than succeed here. |
Roland17:That's the point; he's not supposed to do that. Wenger is an arrogant and silly man who is always trying to claim credit or earn himself that way by stating he identified these players before they became stars. He's the only coach who does that almost every single time and it's ridiculous and beyond stupid. C How can you not understand this? dopeJemi:Yes we signed him and Chelsea had to pay over the odds to get him from us. He didn't turn out to be world class or even remotely good so i'm glad we dodged that bullet. The joke was on Chelsea. |

Nice try but the Mirror is saying £210k and the SUN £220k so i really doubt their correctness. The Mirror isn't a reliable source either. The SUN, mirror, Daily Star, Metro etc are all sh1tty sources in the same league. SKY and MEN used to be good unlike now they just report any rumor; i think the Telegraph is still decent and i rate the BBC as the best. By reputable source, you should know what i mean bro. |
Diadem07, read my post again. I just completed it. TBH your lunacy hasn't departed from you and it's showing again. I don't know how long i can put up with it. |
Diademk07:You obviously do not understand the situation at hand. LVG reduced the number of matches we play in preseason drastically, the same way he sold too many players unnecessary. You don't travel all the way to China to end up playing a single match; no club works like that. Then we shouldn't have gone in the first place or we should've simply gone to the US as we used to. I'll always be of the notion that last season under Van Gaal wasn't as bad as people make out considering the average squad at his disposal and the injury that happened to Bastian. Prior to Bastian injury, the team were knocking on the top spot until his injury happened and we gad to rely on the ageing Carrick.Last season was a disaster, and that's why LVG got sacked; Denying it doesn't change anything. You keep mentioning our squad is average? Whose fault is that? Who forced LVG to work with an average squad? Do you listen to yourself at all? Who asked him not to sign quality players? He had 4 transfer windows and was provided with funds to spend as he likes; he had total control on transfers but he was simply useless at doing his job. That's simply failure and there's no excuse for it. So you're already judging Mourinho and his signings with a single preseason game where most of the players were unfit, lacking match sharpness and we were without our starters like Martial, Smallling etc and we faced strong Dortmund side who had already played 3 more games than us and were far ahead in their match preparations? If i call you a lunatic now, you'll get offended as usual but what you've said is simply stupid. As regards with Ajax, let me also tell you that Van gaal did same with Alkamar in the dutch league. His first and second season were reminiscent of what happened to our team under him but in his third season, he made them champion and I think it was for the first time for them and he did it with a youthful squad. Even while he was at Bayern, it was the defence that bleeped him up and not the attack. Many time, Bayern had to score 3, 5-6 goals to overturn 3 goals deficit due to their poor defence. They had the likes of van buyten, Dimechilis, injury prone Badstuber whom Van gaal mostly relied upon to overcome his injury and an average goalkeeper. You can all check here to see for yourself. www.transfermarkt.us/louis-van-gaal/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/2029/verein_id/27/saison_id/2010 Their attack were never the problem apart from the occasional big game choking performance from Gomez.I didn't ask you for any of this nonsense. I only stated that LVG never came close to matching the success he had at Ajax because he wasn't exactly the major factor responsible for it in the first place. Stop saying things you know nothing about. If we go deeper into these issues like his time at Bayern, you'll get exposed again as usual. Besides, the team last season had moments when they played fluid but the problem was that we constantly relied on the ageing Carrick who needed to be rested and without Bastian, Carrick had to play everytime even when his leg were out because without him, we always stink the place like we did against Liverpool in the Europa.Who forced LVG to rely on an ageing and injured prone Carrick? What are you on about again? Lastly, Van gaal had already planned to stick with kids after his poor outing in the transfer market and that was why he signed the likes of Martial, TFM, Poole and Depay last season apart from Bastian and Morgan. And you ask what happened to the kids Van gaal used in the previous pre-season, one was Lingard whose goal won the FA cup.I asked you how many players LVG eventually used and you could only name one (lingard). So much for his youth promoting that Lingard only got a chance because LVG failed to sign a good right winger and we reallyenjoyed Lingard performances, didn't we?. In case you haven't realized this, Lingard isn't gonna remain a starter for United. He's never gonna be good enough. At best he'll end up a squad player or he'll get sold to a lesser team. It's no suprise that we failed to make ordinary top 4 when you've the likes of lingard starting as your best right winger. So tell me what did LVG achieve with those young players that featured in preseason? Mediocrity! He had already planned to stick to his kids? This is another lie. Again, that's none of my business as long as he's successful; People don't care if he does it with kids or stars but he failed. He simply failed. What you don't know is that the average youth at the club put in 10% more effort than what they can offer on any other day. This means when you eventually bring forth a quality youth player from the academy, his performance always tends to be much more better than all those mercenary brought into club for a lot of fees. And the more reason why clubs who gives rooms to their youth becomes dominant for a longer span than mercenary club out there. And when I say Youth, I mean quality youth. This could be true but where are the quality youth players? At United's academy? Tell me the quality youth player we have had in the last 15 years from our academy? ![]() I hope you don't carry these stupid fantasies and assumptions into your actual life. We already chose the mercenary path by the way and we will likely reap fruit from it.What other option do we have? Do you think we would have success by simply choosing to promote and play youths as we like? I don't understand how you manage to write so much nonsense and bullsh1t in extremely long posts. I'm done with replying you for today. |
Nihilist:2 Top coaches infact the best coaches in the world have expressed their interest in this guy and that's something to think about. I wouldn't be so swift to dismiss him because there's definitively something they've seen that we couldn't. Pep could sign him for city today and in a few years, he could become among the best CBs in the league and the best English CB. |
Dadehmola:I couldn't find any reputable source stating the samething and the SUN is simply unreliable so I really doubt what they've quoted as Pogba wages. If the £220k per week figure is true, then it's most likely wages pre tax. In England actually, when wages are quoted it's usually before tax and that's most likely the case here but the SUN decided to bump it up being the piece of sh1t they are. |
Diademk07:You are a lost cause. All these postulations and conjectures up here are simply silly fantasies and I'm not buying it. Infact I dare say it now, Rashford won't even succeed as starting CF for United in the years to come. Soon we'll realize he's not good enough for and he'll never be good enough for United. Hell most likely end up a bench/squad player at best or end up in a smaller club. That's going with odds and this truth is most likely whether you believe it or not. That's me being realistic and I'm capable of that unlike you who see talents everywhere in our youth players. Infact I don't give a sh1t about him succeeding or not. We're United and not Rashford FC. This pre-season could have been the best chance for LVG to finally build his squad with both the youth and the experienced players in the same way he did with the AJax team or in the least, give the Youth players a solid foundation like he did with the Bayern's youth players and it was only last season, he finally got acquainted with our youth team players. He was even going to the U21 youth matches to watch them play. You mean the same pre season that was poorly planned by LVG that has everyone complaining currently that we're gonna play so few matches before the season begins? Do you know we travelled all the way to China and could only play a single match? How many players from our academy have become starters in our team due to featuring in pre season? Why would this preseason be any different from the 2 previous ones we've had with LVG? Pls stop. Simply stop. Your bullsh1t is getting to peak levels again and I can't stand that. What do know about Ajax apart from what you read online? That LVG laid the foundations there too? Ajax took years or even decades of planning all those work on their academy happened long before LVG. He didn't set up anything; he was the one to reap the benefits. Obviously you don't know this. You just know he won stuff and was successful with them. That's why since LVG left Ajax, he hasn't come close to replicating the level of success he had at Ajax because he wasn't even the major person responsible for it in the first place. Do you think you can get teams playing total football or possession football in 3 years? No it simply doesn't work like that. It takes decades of planning and organisation. That's why what LVG tried to do here wasn't gonna work in such short period of time. He would need at least 10 years and we don't have such time. Even last season wasn't that bad, all we needed was a capable replacement for the aged Carrick and a quality right winger. It's a pity that LVg got it wrong with the injury prone Schweini as he did thought he could have shared the burden with Carrick in the midfield but in the end, we had to rely on the ageing Carrick alone 'cos Schweini's was too injury prone.Last season wasn't bad? It was a disaster and we're still here left to lick our wounds considering we aren't even in the champions league because LVG failed to achieve the bare minimum of making top 4. We didn't even remotely come close to competing for the title in a year that it was won by Leceister. Whether Carrick/Bastian was injury prone or our lack of right winger are none issues and it's none of my business. It's all LVG responsibility to see to those problems and he failed miserably and that's why he was failure here and he was shown the door. So stop the revionism. The funny thing is we've done little to replace our most important player, Carrick in the midfield while chasing rainbow in Pogba and I doubt Mourinho would trust an inexperienced player in Poole...I agree we need to replace Carrick but the signing of a single midfielder won't solve all our existing midfield problems. We need at least 2 signings there if we are being honest with ourselves and Pogba is just one top quality player we've added there and those expecting him to transform the whole midfield are being very unreasonable. If you think I'm wrong, tell me the single midfield player we should sign that will solve all our midfield problems. |
Lana1:You're being extremely illogical here. Tell me which other striker we could've signed that would have resulted in more game time for Rashford than a 34 year old Zlatan who can't play every game Tell me please. I thought you and some others had made peace with Mourinho being our coach but I was wrong. Some of you are just waiting/preparing and hoping he fails at every single chance. That's very bad because Mourinho's failure would be United's failure and it doesn't look very good if Mourinho fails here too and can't rescue us from this mess we've gotten ourselves. You don't understand this, do you? |
SIRcumalot:Exactly we already get a fixed sum per year from adidas (£75m) and at best we can only receive bonuses if the sales are exceedingly high but these bonuses aren't big enough. The high volume of sales should help us in future negotiations however to secure a bigger deal. |
Sailorxy I saw the story too but I really doubt it. It has been proven that player jerseys cannot make the fees for their transfers. It was a silly rumor popularised by Perez when he was signing his galaticos and now it simply refuses to die and people bring it up and every now and then but it's not true. On United jerseys; United generally sell more jerseys worldwide than any other club. The huge percentage increase in the sale of new player jerseys is understandable. Even the jerseys average players like Memphis sell a lot and I think Martial's jersey sale was among the top 3 worldwide when he's not even close to being a top 20 player. It's all due to the United brand. |
Dadehmola:Source? |
bykebyke:They cannot get Verrati, Actually nobody can get him in this, especially in this current window. FloPer's ego is shattered..He needs a good signing.Yes, it's Madrid and their circus way. They need a shiny new toy almost every summer regardless of their needs. A signing better than Pogba and at the same time eclipses Gomes' choosing of Barca over them.Nothing for them currently and i find that a bit strange considering they could've a transfer ban soon. Meanwhile i'll troll them for now Pogba Pogb Pog Po P G Go Gom Gome Gomes Gome Gom Go G S Si Sis Siss Sisso Sissoko ![]() |
Your new signing said he chose Barcelona over Madrid. Interesting. bykebyke:I don't think Juventus will sell to them at a lower price than what we've offered. I really doubt they'd get Pogba. Recently, i heard they were in for Sissoko. |
Griffon:Who is this Guy Bennet that is supposed to be a United fan? Any proof of that? I've never heard of him. |
funlord:Nice. This is one of favorite United matches and it's not even because of the scoreline. |
Arsenal named and shamed. Bidding €35m for Lacazzete. ![]() Even West ham offered more than that but still failed to get the player. Arsenal is just one useless club that never learns. |
