You, whatever your name is, whether Girigbiti 1 or GBR1, were you not one of those who said Harry Kane will shame Rooney in Euro 2016?

At the end of the day, Rooney from the midfield had more goal threatening strike on goal than Kane , and Rooney outscored Kane. grin grin grin

You no know ball sef. I dey waste my time with you.
Show me the post i said Kane would outscore Rooney or shut up. I knew exactly what i said then so don't think you can twist anything to suit your tale. I claimed there was no way Rooney deserved to start as CF ahead of Kane or Vardy but you disagreed and it happened. Kane failing to do well in the Euros doesn't falsify my claim.

Show me where i said Kane would disgrace Rooney!

Mourinho said Rooney is too good to play in midfield, he needs his intelligence, class and attacking appetite in the advanced zone.

Who do I listen to? You or Mourinho?
Where were those intelligence, class and attacking appetite in the last 2 years that Rooney performances has been abysmal?

You don't need to listen to me or anything like that. If Rooney performs like he has been doing in recent years, he's gonna end up on the bench or get sold eventually because Mourinho has stated he won't use him in midfield. That's good news for me or for most United fans. I hope Mourinho lives up to it.

You have not said anything reasonable about Wayne Rooney. I don't feel like continuing arguing with you because your biased opinion are inconsequential. The opinion that matters is that of the club, the coach and players.
I've said more reasonable things than you about Rooney. It's fairly obvious because i'm not stuck in his ass like you who has been defending him since god knows when and you'll continue to defend him till you die.

You can't continue to argue with me and we both know why, not that it matters anyway.

Obviously, I have destroyed those your useless arguments about Rooney and this is your last resort.

Elampiro, you should be ashamed of yourself. I know you're an old man and that makes it even more shameful considering that.
Last season was an exemption. Van Gaal told Rooney not to shoot except from a second touch. It was only after Rooney decided to do it his own way that he began to score, unfortunately, just when he was matching near a goal per match, and one Assist per two games, he got injured.
This is another silly defense of Rooney coming you. You mean the reason Rooney was so terrible in the beginning of the season was because LVG told him not to shoot except from a 2nd touch? cheesy

Everyone is entitled to his opinion. I know since SAF's era, 90% of the time Rooney has played in midfield he has performed outstandingly well. Some have often said he could be as good as Scholes if he continued there. Same he did under Moyes, the game against West Ham comes to mind.
I see you've started going off a tangent again. SAF once claimed and insisted Phil Jones is gonna be our greatest player ever and we all know that's never gonna happen. SAF playing him in midfield doesn't change anything. Rooney is a sh1tty player especially as a forward, and it's only better he plays in midfield because when he plays there it's less detrimental to the team.
At Wembley, Rooney bossed the midfield twice in FA semi final and final. Yet they said he cannot pass. If Mourinho implied Rooney cannot pass in midfield, then he wouldn't have penned him for the number 10 where it is more difficult to pass.
The only performance of Rooney i rated high was in the FA cup final. The rest were good or nothing special.

So James Rodriguez or Isco are better passers than Kroos or Modric because they play as 10s? After you'll go around saying to someone "you no sabi ball" when your knowledge of football is average at best. Playing in the midfield goes beyond passing, it's high time you know this so you can understand why Rooney can never be a good midfielder.

I knew there was no way you could've answered that without making yourself appear foolish. That's what defending Rooney can cause you.

I was talking about your continuous defense of Rooney claiming he's still world class for about 2 years now when it's obvious he's declined. For example in the beginning of the season when Rooney was expected to lead the line as CF, you expected him to do well, didn't you? We all know how that turned out.

Elampiro just needs to understand that Rooney's star has faded.
Elampiro would never understand anything like that when Rooney is involved. He becomes so stubborn/obstinate and illogical when Rooney name is mentioned and i don't even understand why.
I remember Carragher saying something about Rooney. This guy has been playing football at the very highest level for the past 12 years. Even though his birth certificate says 30, he has the body of a 35 year old man. When you consider that he has had no real serious injury during his career and factor in his lack of fastidiousness when it comes to diet, it's no surprise that his body can no longer perform at the required level
This is true. Rooney has been playing top flight/professional football since he was 16. He started far younger than most players so his decline now is unsurprising. Rooney isn't a professional in making sure his body remains in good shape like Ronaldo who has also delclined but still plays at a very high level. Rooney's current level is not good enough for a top club or side with title aspirations. It's been like this for about 2 years now.

Well-respected French manager, Guy Roux — who spent an astonishing 46 years in charge of Auxerre — claimed the highly-rated Portuguese ace was actually 23 or 24, rather 18.
Renato Sanches has been hailed as a star for the future after impressive displays at Euro 2016
Sanches has been billed as one of the stars of the future after impressing at Euro 2016.
However, Roux believes the winger, who joined Bayern Munich recently for £27million, is currently reaching the prime of his career.
Speaking to Romanian site, Dolce Sport , he said: “Yes, he says he is 18 years old but he must look at his past.
“Sanches’ birth was declared many years later. The date is not true.
“I believe he is 23 or 24 years old — but he is a very good player.”

How is he not a world class forward?
Why did you claim he needs to reinvent himself in the forward positions if he's world class? World class players don't need to do anything like that.

Why did Rooney want to play in midfield instead of as forward? You claim it's easier to play in midfield, right? That means Rooney chose to play where it's easier according to you. So why does Rooney find it harder to play as a forward if he's world class?

Your entire logic is in a loop and you have put yourself in a fix. You've been saying nonsense for a long time.

An Ibra-Rooney combo upfront lack pace. Without pace in attack as far as EPL is concerned = piss & shiit!

In fact Jose has no choice but to field runners either side of Ibrahimovic. Ibra is not going to be busting a gut latching onto through passes. We have to deploy him the exact same way he was deployed @ PSG, which is more or less a laid-back no. 9 (can't find a suitable description). Any other na fafafafowl
Good point. A 10 doesn't necessarily need to be as fast as wingers and i think Rooney's pace would do but a slow Zlatan upfront makes it complicated and again Zlatan also likes to drop deep sometimes to receive the ball like a 10 and creating chances for those ahead of him like he does at PSG, so the middle could get clusterred and some players need to be making those extra runs.
Mikhi is very fast but his pace is not electric like Martial's or Mane's and now we might end up having 4 forwards with an 'effective' average pace.

If Mourinho is really interested in Pogba, then he's planning to play 4-3-3 with Pogba as the farthest midfielder upfront because Pogba cannot play in a two man midfield. Now if Pogba is gonna be the farthest midfielder upfront, then Rooney has no place in midfield since Jose has said he's not gonna play him as an 8 or 6. That leaves Rooney only one option; playing as a CF and competing with Zlatan. I hope Mourinho knows what he's doing because it's not looking good for Rooney.

Rooney might not get an automatic place this time. Mourinho will try to bring the best out of him in the forward roles. But keeping a place there will depend on Rooney’s ability to reinvent himself in the forward positions. He might just do it playing with Ibrahimovic. We have to wait and see.
Reinvent what? I thought you used to claim Rooney is a world class forward?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by GBR1(m):

This is not what Mourinho means. He meant passes are easier in deeper positions.

That same place Rooney made great/sexy passes in Wembley and our last league games is where many have failed to complete simple Square passes in previous games.
Nonsense. Mourinho point about Rooney playing in midfield goes beyond what you're claiming. Rooney cannot play well in midfield when he's pressed and it goes beyond just passing. In the West ham game for example, we saw exactly how bad Rooney could play when it gets tough. His already bad touch gets worse gets worse in those situations. Top midfielders know how to manage such situations well unlike Rooney. He was never trained to be a midfielder and he can never become a top midfielder. Another thing is Rooney's inconsistency even against poor sides. For example Rooney had some OK performances earlier in the euros but had a terrible game against Iceland who weren't even a top side. How many games in Euros did England play for Rooney to already have such a bad display? Then you consider how many of those kind of performances Rooney would have over the course of a season with 38 games in the league alone, cups games and games in Europe. It would be a disaster.

Mourinho is stating that playing in his midfield goes beyond just passing, that he himself is capable of that. Playing in midfield is not necessarily easier than playing in attack; Maybe for Rooney yes but he's attacker not a midfielder. It's because he's not good enough in attack and that's why he's trying to shoehorn himself into the midfield. Rooney himself said he sees his future in midfield. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36318880

Elampiro tell me why Rooney wants to play in the midfield in the first place since now you're admitting it's easier? Rooney knows his attacking abilities have waned and he's not good enough again in attack but when we were telling you this you denied it and said Rooney is still a world class forward and that he can deliver. Now you're admitting that it's easier to play in midfield and that's why Rooney wants to play there. You see how your lies are coming back to hunt and hurt you? grin

Mourinho is telling him now that he either plays in attack or nothing. What does this mean for Rooney? grin

Yes, yes. Thanks. This is it, exactly. grin

Mourinho was spot on. Rooney can only pass well when he's not being pressed. Even at those times, it's inconsistent with other basic things like first touch which Rooney never mastered completely even as a professional footballer. He can never be a good midfielder.

At best Mourinho would use him as a 10 or 9. It's not looking good for Rooney.

People are getting ahead of themselves and exaggerating this signature. Takuma's signature is purely a marketing move for Arsenal FC as an organization and not the team, nothing more.

Arsenal has a very strong marketing presence in Asia, the strongest in the premier league, maybe rivaled by only Manchester United and this signature was intended to promote the continued dominance in the most stable Asian market (Japan).

Takuma has not played enough games for Japan, thus, his situation is synonymous to that of Campbell when he was initially signed and sent on loan.

Japan and Asia wins because one of their own would ply his trade in Europe, he would hopefully develop and stake a claim in the Japanese national team, Arsenal (the organization) gain from the market in Asia by personalizing the Arsenal brand in Asia.

Wenger specifically stated "he is one for the future", again this depends on how much he develops while on loan, depending on where he is sent to play.

Wenger is not just the coach of the Team, he has a huge stake in Arsenal (The organization).

#mytake
United is far ahead of Arsenal in the Asian market. The difference is quite big so they are not rivals. Even Liverpool is bigger than Arsenal in the Asian market.

Arsenal is a just small club that doesn't know it's place. Go figure that out.

The Morgan case is a curious one. Some believe he was mismanaged by LVG and that's why he underperformed while others say he's simply mediocre and never gonna be capable of performances good enough for a top team.

He has been linked with Everton recently with a reunion with Koeman who his former coach at the saints.

Anything is possible but it all depends on Jose's plans. We could see a new Morgan next season putting in decent performances in a new system or he could do badly again and get sold next season or it's even possible Jose doesn't really rate him and he could get sold in this transfer window. Boateng is a good defender but our friends in Bayern hype him up to be the greatest.

We only see Boateng playing for teams that dominate the ball so his best quality (pace) is always on display to stop counterattacks.

Put Boateng under real pressure and you see him collapse like when Madrid and Barca were flogging him 5-0 and 7-0.

Take this game today. If you put Boateng in Bonuccis position in the Italy team, having to defend under pressure for 120 mins, you will see the difference between a born organised defender like Bonucci and a scatter brain like Boateng. Boateng in Italy team today would have conceded goals.
I agree with the entirety of this. TBH Boateng is a good defender but just not as good as the Bayern folks make out. He has his weaknesses but less it's less than that of most defenders. Currently there aren't a lot of good defenders and he's comfortably one of the best.

Most defenders that excel in a high line and dominating teams like Pique, Boateng don't necessary do well in other systems that don't play to their strengths and fumble in occurrences contrary to that they're used to but that doesn't make them bad defenders because act of defending has much evolved much in these modern times.

Raumdeuter and co set a very bad precedent by stating Terry (who was as good as a defender you could get his in prime) was bad. This left a very bad taste in the mouths of Chelsea and some other EPL fans who now in turn refuse to accept Boateng as good and demean him at every opportunity. The story could be longer than this, as far as i know.

In the last 5 yrs Juventus has won 5 league titles and played a CL final
In the last 5yrs Bayern have won 4 league titles and won a CL
In the last 5yrs PSG has won 4 league titles
In the last 5yrs Barcelona have won 3 league titles and won a CL

Na only EPL that their top teams are weak and cant maintain consistentency
So find another opata to yarn
You should never have said this. The PL is not as strong as it used to be but it's only the Spanish league i would rate above it and for good reasons. Now i would use this statements of yours easily to prove the Bundesliga is really sh1t and not as strong as you make out.

In last 20 years, some clubs have won 3 league titles in a row in various leagues because they got so dominant. Winning 3 titles in a top league by a club is not a easy task and represent a certain level of dominance and quality that would/should put that club as one of the best in Europe i their league is really very good.
*United did it twice; winning the league between 1999-2001 and we won a CL and the treble in that period, or 2007-2009 and we won the CL also while making the finals twice.
*Barcelona did it; winning the league between 2009-2011 and won 2 CLs in that period.
*Even Inter managed to do it when the Italian league wasn't so strong(after the scandal); they won their league between 2008-2010 and won a CL title in that time etc

But when you're able to win your league titles so easily like 3 times in a row with limited competition but cannot win the CL, then it means your league is really sh1t and not competitive. That's why PSG can win 3 or more in a row without winning the CL or even reaching the semis of the CL because the french league is sh1t, that's why Juventus can win 3 or more in a row but cannot win the CL in that period because the Italian league is currently sh1t, that's why Bayern too won 3 league titles in a row with a top coach like Pep and couldn't win the CL or even make a final appearance because the Bundesliga or the German league is really sh1t like those other leagues.

This is why i enjoy debating you. You just always manage to say silly things that i would use against you almost every single time.

Now know this; The PL currently might not have a super club dominating both off and on the pitch, but i assure you when any club arises to do that and wins 3 league titles in a row in England, then that club would surely win the CL at least once in that period because the PL is a top league unlike the German or French league which are sh1t leagues.
