On the hind sight, that press release pegging OANDO's RI at N50 appears ill-timed.

Hopefully, OANDO is benefitting from it.

For countries or companies that import raw crude oil and refine locally, the crisis would increase the average production cost per barrel.
For upstream companies that produce and export crude e.g. Seplat, Oando, the average production cost might not be affected much. But how much they would gain from the price rally might depend on how much forward sales they still have to deliver and the price in the forward contract.

He is probably not in Iran, otherwise, I doubt if he has more than 48 hours left before seeing his father.

Would the crisis have some effects on the average production cost per barrel of crude? because if production cost stays relatively the same as before this surge in price or, maybe with only a marginal increase, OANDO's journey out of its woes may just have received 'divine' intervention

This current energy crisis is a reality check on the global economy and the 'futile' drive to move away from fossil fuel. We are still largely dependent and will continue to depend on petrol for an indeterminable future.

It's so disappointing reading something so pedeastrian like this on this platform. Do you know what is going on in the world at all? Do you know what is called business? Don't you know that DR is a business? How many refineries do they have in the USA and other developed countries? Are they buying fuel in those countries at the same price now as it was before the Iran war?

What happened to Naira for crude deal? What happened to locally sourced crude or does it come through the straight of Hormuz?

What happened to crude stock? What happened to refined stock? And Reserve if any? Has Nigerians consumed all?

Three or more Dangotes and Nigerians will be alright. Monopoly has never served or benefited the masses.
