shamecurls: Scam! If that car should ply Sango-otta-Ijoko Agbado-Akute on daily basis, It wont last 12 months. Nigerian roads re off-roads. The range will be on off-road mode on daily basis except it wont come to the core mainland- Ayobo, ishashi, Mowe, Agbara Lusada e.t.c So which cars are plying that road daily? This your comment is funny. Nigerians tend to believe that expensive cars can't handle bad roads. The only reason I will agree with you is not because the car can't handle such roads, but because u would want to cherish a car you spent a lot of money to get. Believe me, range rovers, land rovers, hummers are amongst the best off road vehicles you can get. |

topsy23: Am not saying Nigeria is unique but we should be proud of father land . It means the output of your generator will be 110V as well. All the electronics must be 110V AC supply. But in future and things change for best for our dear country and you want to connect to public supply, u need to pull out all the cables and re-run another cables because 110V cables might not withstand 220V supply voltage That is not going to be a problem. Have u ever wondered how high tension wires not thicker than 20mm can carry 30,000volts? The simple answer is in how electricity works. The higher the voltage, the lesser the resistance the current experiences in moving through a material. The lower the resistance, the lower the energy lose due to heating of the wires. That is why electricity is transmitted at high voltages through thin wires. This means the house wiring for a 110v setup is actually thicker than that needed for a 220v setup. Hope you understand me sir? So that won't be a problem when he has to switch to 220v. But it is dangerous to switch to a lower voltage using the same wires. Let me explain. Electrical power is IV, I for current V for voltage If you plug a load of 1000w to a 110v source, then your load will pull a current of 1000w divided by 110v which gives you 9.09A current passing though But if it is a 220v source only 4.5A current would pass through the wires. NOTE. It is the current that causes heating and danger or fire outbreak. So a wiring for 110v is designed to handle double the current 220v wiring can handle. But don't try using the wiring of 220v on a 110v setup. |

topsy23: Nigeria cable is one of the best cable. Most of nigerian consultant don't specify imported cables. Not true and true Not true because Nigerian cables (original) are competing with chinese made cables branded as UK and US made. True, because Nigerian electrical cable manufactures are doing a good job in proving they are the best. This has helped them. Create a niche here in nigeria and west africa most especially. |

mavverick: Thanks for the reply, what I would like to know is the cost implication of going DC based pump. Can you state this please ?
Thanks. We are looking at about 450k-500k for a project like this. The pump costs about 250k-260k. Really I prefer using a solar pump to using an inverter coupled with solar power to run an AC pump |

mavverick: Boss.
I already have a borehole with submersible pump. I have some questions.
How can I deploy a solar powered pump ? Can existing pump be used or a new one will be needed ? How much will.it cost just to power submersible pump and another pump to take Water from a ground level tank to the tanks on a tower ?
Simple system with low maintenance.
Thanks It is best to change the pump to a solar/DC pump for a long term solution. The other option is to user a solar aRray coupled with an inverter system, but it won't last as long as a solar pump would. We can help you with that if you want. |

jam04: If my plan is to power 15 white bulbs, one lcd tv, 2 ceiling fan and one decoder. What will my set up cost be. The 15 white bulbs will only come on in the evening. Also can I import the panels and the battery and you guys just come over to install? Reason is that I prefer materials from the US rather than the chinese materials. You don't have to import. There are original products from the united states here in nigeria. |

chris81964: You can do some basic calculations yourself. TV is rated at about 130 W, The ceiling fan is about 70 watts and the Big fan is about 150 Watts. The energy savings bulbs you can look at the bulb and figure out how many watts. If you will watch you TV for 8 hours to calculate watt hours will be 130 x 8 Add up the watts of each item and add an extra 20% and that will be the size Inverter you need. Multiply each appliance by how many hours you intend to run them. Add up the totals and that will give the watt hours. Divide the watts hours by 24 or 48 (system Voltage) and that will determine how much you consume in AH. Multiply that number by 2. This will double the capacity to make sure you don't discharge the batteries below 50%. To determine what you need in solar panels. You can look at the irradiance chart. Or you can make an educated guess. I use 6 hours of sunshine because I anticipate that I will have NEPA for 2 hours a day and that will assist me in charging the batteries. So divide the Watt hours by 6. If you are off grid divide by 4.5. After you have done all that calculation, you will know how much in batteries, panels and inverter you need. Good luck That is just it. All details taken into consideration |

Sunymoore: Hi geesampower or anybody. Please how much will it cost to get a solar system that can power 5 fans, one flat screen TV and decoder.. And fifteen energy saving bulbs and some small appliance like charger? For how many hours a day and what type of fan, is it the common 65watt standing fans or ceiling fans. Tv size may and may not matter so far you it is not beyond 42inches won't consume more than 130watts most likely, so just shed more light on the type of fans and duration you intend to use it everyday |
