Not news. Unfortunately Lawlessness is the order of the day in this country, and it would be in any other place so far there is complacency from the leadership with power to discipline individuals engaged in this acts. I have high expectations from the present government, i hope it wont be all talk and no action. |

SisterMe: I am told that pure sine wave is more rugged, being transformer based. They say modified gets easily damaged by overload like for instance using a 1.5 HP submersible pump on it. To further prove my point... Google up inverter generator. This is an innovation above the conventional generators people use which does not produce a smooth out current. How many people use Inverter-Generators? Almost none that I know of, yet it is the best. It converts the power from the generator to dc and then back to ac which is pure sine wave. This is the best. Yet nigerians still use the "bad" generators, but get sensitive about inverters. Hope you get my point here? So YES pure sine wave is Best, but we have been ok with our conventional generators, so you could actually get by with a modified sine wave inverter. Hope you get the point I am making. If not you could ask more and I will gladly answer. The equivalent of a pure sinewave inverter is the "inverter-generator" |

SisterMe: I am told that pure sine wave is more rugged, being transformer based. They say modified gets easily damaged by overload like for instance using a 1.5 HP submersible pump on it. No no no. That is a misinformation especially the transformer aspect. Even square-wave (which is the worst type you can use) uses transformers, next is the modified square wave, then modified sine wave then pure sine wave. Pure sinewaves are very expensive and produce really smooth-out current. They are expensive because of the microprocessors they use in alternating direct current, NOT because of the transformers. In terms of inverters being rugged, even a square wave inverter can be termed rugged (but not good for operating oscillating equipments such as submersible pump. If your submersible pump is 1.5hp and uses 1kw DON'T buy a 1 kw inverter even if it is a Pure sine wave inverter. Get a 2.5KW at least. Over loading is the major cause of inverter damage. I mean over 90% of damaged inverters are from over loading. What is PURE sine wave. Your generator does not produce Pure sine wave current and yet can operate your pump. So again, FEW people know what pure sine wave really means. Many don't know all this generators they use are actually producing modified square wave or modified sine wave NOT Pure Sine wave oscillation. I will need to create a new thread where we discuss various options and cost in details. Cos I am also for pure sine wave. I want people to use pure sine wave if they can afford it, but if not they can use modified sine wave too and be served |

SisterMe: I didn't get that..modified sine wave is more expensive than pure sine wave or pure sine wave is more expensive than modified sine wave? No pure cost more than modified. Mixed up expression up there. As I said. People not into laboratory work should stop talking about pure sine wave. Just doesn't make any sense |
Properties › Re: SOLAR POWER 24hrs. Now affordable than ever! by geesampower(op): 8:50pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
SisterMe: I didn't get that..modified sine wave is more expensive than pure sine wave or pure sine wave is more expensive than modified sine wave? Let us be very realistic. No one needs pure sine wave inverters, they are only appropriate for scientific equipments that are highly sensitive. So, definitely, the inverter is a modified sine wave I laff when people talk about pure sine-wave (definitely don't know what they are talking about) |

Ochugboju: Please I need technical advice on the use of solar panels. I have a 7 kva Inverter 96 volts, I use 8 200 Ah batteries and I want to add solar panels to effectively charge the batteries in the day time while I at the same run the inverter and use my air conditioners with it. What capacity of solar panel will be required and how many of them would be needed? Also I know I'll be needing two charge controllers of48 volts each to get 96 volts. What capacity would be suitable in each case? Thanks. At bolded, pls don't ry that sir u will get a big bang and melted plastic in place of charge controllers. Connecting 2 or more controllers together is called stacking and you shld only stack in parallel not series. You can get a 96v charge controller so why stack. For the airconditioners, what are their electrical ratings? Then we can move forward from ther |

amnesty7: That's why a lot of construction companies have sent their workers home on redundancy. PMB really has a work to do. May those that deliberately caused this mess be paid in the same coin. Not just construction workers. We are also being owned. Reason why I laff when I see people defending jonathan. I made good money from his government, but I am very aware of the deception and supposed projects they want nigerians to believe and yet refuse to pay contractors. Hope PMB would address our issue on time cos the depth is killing our businesses. I say this with all sincerity, Jonathan's government was terribly corrupt. I mean rotten! |
