Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is set to fight the presidential battle of his life following a clash of his ambition with that of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, THISDAY’s investigation has revealed.
THISDAY gathered that Osinbajo has been left with no other option than to throw his hat into the ring after he was snubbed in London by the former Governor of Lagos State.
Tinubu had earlier this month returned to Nigeria after spending over three months in London on medical vacation.
The two-term governor of Lagos State, whose health has been a subject of controversy was reported to have undergone knee surgery in London.
No fewer than 30 politicians, including President Muhammadu Buhari, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), visited him in London.
The northern caucus in the House of Representatives, led by Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Wase also visited the APC national leader and endorsed his candidacy for the 2023 presidency.
A source close to Osinbajo, however, told THISDAY last night that Tinubu snubbed the vice president during his medical vacation in London.
“Essentially, Osinbajo arrived London to attend a conference and then, see Tinubu. As he arrived, he was supposed to see Tinubu the next morning but Tinubu left town by 6 a.m. the next morning to avoid seeing him. Even Adeboye (General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye) had arrived a day earlier and they planned to see Tinubu,” the source said.
The source further disclosed that the vice president has to make up his mind after his failed bid to see Tinubu.
“Tinubu has ramped up his campaign and Osinbajo also wants to be president and both cannot be president.
“So, now the die is cast for the battle of his life. He has not decided to run but a lot of people are mobilising him to run,” the source explained.
However, according to a source close to Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State had been in London for two and a half months, adding that if Osinbajo wanted to come and see him, he had enough time.
“The president came to see Asiwaju; other leaders came; Osinbajo did not come. If Osinbajo had wanted to come, he had enough time to do so. Tinubu wanted to return because he wanted to avoid the crowd in Lagos. And he returned when he did,” he explained.
Strong indications that Osinbajo may part ways with his political mentor over the 2023 presidency had emerged during his birthday in March 2020 when Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, who delivered an address on behalf of the APC Progressives Governors Forum, hinted that Osinbajo is a good candidate to succeed Buhari.
Osinbajo’s supporters, under the aegis of the Progressives Consolidation Group (PCG), were the first and only support group that has received the approval of the APC to canvass support for his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The approval was contained in a letter titled, ‘Letter of Recognition as a Support Group,’ dated October 4, 2021, and signed by the Director of Administration of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman.
The letter, which was addressed to the PCG, read in part, “We write to inform you that the National Chairman, His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, has approved your recognition as a support group of the party.”
Even though the supporters of Osinbajo and Tinubu have insisted that the alleged attempt to pit the two leaders against each other will fail, there are no indications that any of them will drop his presidential aspiration.
Reacting to a report where groups said to be supporting Tinubu and Osinbajo were pitted against each other over the 2023 presidency, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, had stated in a statement that neither the vice-president nor his office will endorse “this kind of a divisive engagement and news reports”.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are members of the same party,” the former senator said.
“Osinbajo regards Tinubu as a respected leader of a political family to which he belongs and will therefore not for any reason endorse an endeavour that seeks to pitch them against each other.
“We are not unaware of some people who may want to foist a crack among our leaders. Such an attempt is abortive. Osinbajo and Tinubu relationship dates way back and it shall continue to wax strong,” Ojudu reportedly explained.
According to Governor Tambuwal, the call for the rescinding of the blockade became necessary because of concerns expressed by security outfits in the state that the outage was affecting the smooth conduct of their works.
After an enlarged Security Council meeting about bandits’ attack on Goronyo market which claimed the lives of 43 people last week, the Sokoto state government has formally written to the Federal Government to suspend the blockade of telecommunications services earlier imposed on 14 local government areas of the state.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state disclosed this on Saturday when he received the North-East Governors Forum, represented by Governors of Borno and Gombe state, Professor Babagana Zulum and Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya respectively, who paid a condolence visit to the state over the bandits’ attack of last week.
According to Governor Tambuwal, the call for the rescinding of the blockade became necessary because of concerns expressed by security outfits in the state that the outage was affecting the smooth conduct of their works.
“The state government has already forwarded a letter to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy to review the internet blockade,” the governor said.
Tambuwal, who attributed the influx of the marauders to the security operations in Zamfara state, asked the Federal Government to expand the onslaught against bandits operation to other states of the North-West.
In the same vein, the six governors of the North-East geopolitical zone have donated the sum of N20 million to the Sokoto state government. The gesture is coming a week after the dastardly killings of 43 people in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto state.
Governor Zulum, who is also the Chairman of the North-East Governors Forum, while announcing the donation, expressed sadness over the incident and offered that with his more than a decade experience of engaging the Boko Haram insurgents, he will offer valuable counsel to Sokoto state and other North-Western states currently experiencing the scourge of bandits and marauders.
Tambuwal, while applauding the NEGF for its kind gesture, promised that his administration would avail itself with the wealth of experience of his counterparts.
@MaziGburugburu1 has donated 750,000 naira to Maazi Ogbonnaya 'to bolster his Igbo language speaking app'..
Maazi Ogbonnaya is an Igbo icon who's doing exceptionally well to immortalize the Igbo language, culture and heritage. Few months ago, he challenged Reno Omokri to a debate after Reno controversially claimed that 'the Binis used and sold the Igbos as slaves for centuries.'
He was earlier this week threatened by IPOB members for exposing ESN's evil atrocities on Twitter.
The pan Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Friday said the Southeast needs Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, if they are to stand a chance to produce Nigeria’s president in 2023.
Dim Uche Okwukwu, Deputy President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, said Tinubu controls the votes in Yoruba land; hence the Igbos need him to produce Nigeria’s president.
Speaking exclusively with DAILY POST, Okwukwu urged the people of the Southeast to show solidarity to the APC National Leader over his ill-health.
Okwukwu pointed out that the former governor of Lagos State was the most benevolent Nigerian politician after Ahmadu Bello.
According to Okwukwu: “Most of my people don’t understand why it’s important to express solidarity with Asiwaju at this moment, the truth is that even if we are to produce an Igbo President we cannot do it without Yoruba votes and that vote is in the hands of one man and i know he has firm control of Yoruba land.
"I studied in Ife, and I understand Nigeria perfectly. In 1959, the progressives lost government in this country to the conservatives because Zik and Awolowo disagreed. In 1979, they lost again because Zik and Awolowo disagreed.
“The Northern progressives always lost on to the Southern progressives to come together; Asiwaju is one of the few remaining progressives from the UPN, AG, ACN and today to APC; he is one of the few remaining alive. People don’t understand his role, which is to lead the old to the new. This is why he has a lot of influence in Yoruba land.
“I have said this severally, that Tinubu is the only Nigerian that is politically benevolent, no Nigerian today can nominate his boy to become Speaker of the House of Representatives who is bigger than him. The highest Tinubu has ever attained was the governor of Lagos. The Vice President was his Attorney General in Lagos. This is what they call a large heart; the only person who exhibited these qualities in Nigeria was Ahmadu Bello, who allowed Tafawa Balewa to become Prime Minister while he was still in Kaduna.
“What is causing the problem of the South is political greed, and we are cultivating a crab culture. If you put crabs in a basket for three years, they will be there with no one escaping. We need to copy from Asiwaju a lot; what I can not do, another person should do it. On the vice president’s issue, Tinubu, who is a Muslim, asked Osinbajo to go because he is a Christian who is far younger than him. The only political position Osinbajo had before becoming the Vice President was the Attorney General of Lagos State; nobody has moved from that position to the Vice President in Nigeria’s history apart from Osinbajo and Asiwaju allowed it.
“If we follow the lessons of Asiwaju, we would not complain. The bane of Southern politics is that we don’t want another person to be stronger than us, and we are not getting it right. We need him to be alive; his death is not going to be a loss to Yorubas alone but to Nigeria.”
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has dropped a bombshell on Christendom by revealing that God does not love Christians. In a debate with Daddy Freeze, entitled "Daddy Freeze Debates Reno Omokri: Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?", Reno argued that God loves Muslims particularly because they are obedient to Him and faithful to their scripture.
Christians, on the other hand, are alien to God, disobedient, unfaithful and impious. He ended his argument by begging Christians not to assassinate him.
"Christ emphasized faith, He did not emphasize religion. That's why when you read John 3:16, it says that:
"For God so love the world..."
God does not love Christians. In fact, that word "Christian" does not even resonate with God. God loves the world. God loves Muslims. I am telling you, one of the people that God PARTICULARLY loves are Muslims. Why? Because... I'll give you a very good example:
When I was coming back from your own country (referring to Daddy Freeze) I saw a guy looking very, very agitated; he was looking here, he would look here, he would look around. Next thing the guy just... In the middle of this airport, just sat down, brought out mat poom! Put the mat there, enter the mat and began to pray... Muslim prayer. Do you know what the man was looking for? He was looking for a quiet place, a secret place to go and pray, he couldn't find.
How many Christians do you know will love God to that extent? How many Christians?
Let me tell you something, do you know that if the Qur'an tells Muslims you must cut your nose before you can please God, every Muslim will cut their nose. That's how they are...
Muslims are more faithful to their scripture than so-called Christians to their own scripture.
And of this, I have offended enough people. You know please, I am just one man. I have four children. If I am killed, Daddy Freeze will not pay their school fees. So let me not offend more people. Let us end it here please. "
President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo state, has shattered the sit at home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The Directorate of States, DOS, of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had ordered a sit-at-home against the planned visit of Mr. President to Imo State on Thursday.
Though the sit at home order recorded partial compliance in Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi and Enugu, however in Imo state, Buhari’s visit shattered the order, as Journalists witnessed mammoth crowd who stormed the streets of Imo to welcome Mr. President.
WHY BUHARI VISITED IMO STATE
Reason, Nigerian President visited Imo state has been revealed. Buhari came to Imo state to commission projects built by the sitting governor of state, Hope Uzodinma.
Buhari’s aircraft landed at Sam Mbakwe cargo airport, Owerri, at about 9:00 am and was received by David Umahi, chairman of the South-east Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, Imo state governor and other stakeholders in the state.
During the commissioning of Egbeada bypass road, Buhari opined that he would encourage Hope Uzodimma, to develop the state within the limit of the law.
“I have gone round and I have seen enough I have seen Uzodimma integrity in working hard, I am impressed with what I have seen. This is what I am facing at the centre, I want to say this, from the centre, I will encourage Imo in the ongoing infrastructure development within the limits of the law”, he said.
Other projects commissioned include: Balloon Technology erosion tunnel to control the erosion in the Egbu, D-Tiger, Egbu Federal Housing, Aladimma, Chukwuma Nwaoha. He also commissioned the Naze junction improvement.
Why IPOB issued sit at home order
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had following the re-arrest of its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in Keyan and of cause the his repatriation to Nigeria, asked the Nigerian government to release him. The vowed never to stop until Kanu is released by the Department of State Service, DSS.
What IPOB is fighting for
The groups main aim is to restore an independent state of Biafra in the South East of Nigeria through an independence referendum.
They have accused the Federal government of marginalizing, killing and maiming the people of South East.

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday ‘Igboho’ Adeyemo has accused Ibrahim Salami, one of his lawyers, of disrespecting him amid his legal struggle to wriggle out of the Benin Republic detention and avoid extradition to Nigeria.
He said the lawyer kept him waiting for 15 minutes to attend to someone else.
“He didn’t give me respect at all.,” said Igboho.
In a 15-minute audio recording, Mr Adeyemo said that he left angrily to eat when his lawyer was attending to some people rather than him.
“I told him (lawyer) I was hungry and had to eat, and he told me to go. I told him to see me. It wasn’t because of those people that he came here now,” the activist complained. “I was waiting for him for 15 minutes. If he had told those people to give him time to attend to his client, that one would not have said anything because he knew you came there because of me.”
In the leaked audio, Igboho said he felt abandoned and disappointed.
“But he abandoned me where I was. I didn’t know him before now; I wasn’t expecting him at all. I didn’t know it was Salami that lawyer Falola would be sending,” the Yoruba Nation activist fleeing from President Muhammadu Buhari regime’s secret police added. “I’m not a young boy now; I’ll be 50 years (old) by October this year. I might have a small body, but God answered my prayers. I’m a man, and I know my worth.”
Referring to Nnamdi Kanu’s extraction to Nigeria, Mr Adeyemo pointed out that he was under similar conditions. He added, “I have accepted my fate. I do not fear anything except God. I will ask the judge if he is God. If they decide to take me back to Nigeria, let them take me there. Kanu is in Nigeria, and we are fighting under the same circumstances. It is only fear, but if there is God there, let them bring me to Nigeria.”
An upset Igboho said the Beninois lawyers representing him were incompetent despite collecting millions of naira to defend him.
“The lawyers that can’t convince a judge to release me. See how many they are: about 10 of them. Are those ones lawyers?” lamented Igboho. “The lawyers that can’t let them remove handcuffs from my hands for seven days until Falola came. It wasn’t small money that they collected. Some collected N5 million, some N4 million.”
In a frustrated tone, he further disclosed, “I don’t need any information from them. I told my wife when she visited me recently: any information that can’t take me out of here is useless.”
In the leaked audio recording, Igboho also revealed how he confronted Beninois prison officers.
“If I get angry with anyone, the person won’t be able to hold me. The day I confronted them here in prison, they were shocked,” said Igboho, “I told them to either kill me or change my cell and that I didn’t care if they would open fire on me. They had no option than to change my cell.”
The Interpol arrested Igboho and his Germany-based wife at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on July 20, trying to board a flight to Germany. He has been
Mr Igboho was declared wanted by the State Security Service after the operatives violently raided his Ibadan home killing at least two of his associates.
abouzaid: CNN have been suffering from reduced public trust even in America for their biased reporting, i lost all respect for them during the military campaign to oust Mamman Ghadaffi in Libya, their coverage of the events was glaringly biased to the point of self redicule.
Ibrahim Salami, one of the Cotonou, Benin Republic-based lawyers of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has faulted leaked audio where the activist faulted his legal team.
Igboho had expressed confidence in gaining freedom if returned to Nigeria by Benin Republic.
In leaked audio obtained by The PUNCH and confirmed by multiple sources, Igboho alleged that he was abandoned by lawyers who collected a huge amount of money from him in Benin.
Salami explained that the leaked audio is dangerous for the justice being pursued on behalf of Igboho.
According to him, Igboho was angry with him and other members of the legal team because he felt he had no reason to remain in police detention.
The professor of law explained that Igboho found it strange to remain in police custody for “not committing any crime”.
“He wants things to be done faster,” the lawyer said in Yoruba.
Salami, who attempted to resist speaking on the matter in the media, also said Igboho didn’t intend to make his complaint public.
“Igboho is someone that gets angry easily and if I have a challenge with a client, it is not something to be discussed in the media,” he added.
The PUNCH gathered that Igboho had made a similar complaint to the leadership of Ilana Omo Oodua, who is handling legal matters for him in Benin Republic.
The Benin-Republic-based lawyer hinted that the issues have been resolved, adding that he was continuing his work with other members of the team.
He noted that Igboho has a right to be angry with the way he was detained in violation of the law, in an interview with BBC. “He has a right to be angry,” the lawyer added.
Why Salami was recruited – Source A source among the leadership of the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, said Salami was recruited because of his influence in Benin Republic.
According to the source, Salami understood the legal system in Benin and he is also one of the leading lawyers and consultants to the government.
“Beyond being a professor, Salami understands the legal system. He is a government lawyer. He was very instrumental in stopping Igboho’s extradition the moment he was arrested.
“We also have some challenges with him, but we are hopeful that he will adjust going forward. For instance, after every sitting, he briefs the press first before his clients. That is wrong for elders and causing confusion.
“Apart from Igboho, he is dealing directly with Professors Banji Akintoye and Wale Adeniran, and they don’t get updates from him immediately.”
IPOB members have taken to social media to lambast CNN for saying "Nnamdi Kanu, a separatist leader who has been on the run since 2015 was arrested in June and extradited from Kenya back to Nigeria." They also pointed out that IPOB is not a separatist group.
Read tweets below:
"Very bias and irresponsible report, @oneWorldCNN how can you call Biafra Saparatist? And thier leader on the run lies, truth MNK is a british citizen who was kidnap and rendition from Kenya to Nigeria ? Do you call Scotland Separatist in thier quest for refrendum and independence?"
Leave the d£mon!c reporters they are black Africans it's in their nature f00l!sh, li£s, d£ceit & £v!l
I am not surprised, If @CNN @ChrisCuomo cannot get the headline right"FORM" instead of "FROM", how on earth can they get accurate info. Someone is grossly incompetent in that organization. #CNN as for the leader of IPOB, he was kidnapped in Kenya not arrested. #CNN king of lies.
Ebonyi State Police Command said it has arrested suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB/Eastern Security Network (ESN) that allegedly murdered 7 innocent persons in the State.
Briefing newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Abakaliki, the State Commissioner, CP Aliyu Garba explained that “in the early hours of August 9th 2021, while in forceful enforcement of illegal Sit-At-Home order by the suspects, 7 innocent persons who were going about their lawful businesses along Ohaozara/Onicha expressway by Anike Village were blocked, gruesomely murdered and their vehicles set ablaze.”
He stated that on receipt of the information, operatives of the command immediately swung into action and engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle.
According to him, during the gun duel, two of the suspected IPOB members were fatally wounded while others escaped with bullet wounds.
CP Garba said that 4 amongst the fleeing suspects were later trailed, arrested and now in police custody.
He said that the suspected IPOB members confessed to being members of the organization who participated in the killing of the 7 Persons and burning of 4 vehicles including a truck on the said date.
He said that items recovered from the suspects include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, GPMG, 10 rounds of Chain Bullets and 5 motorcycles.
CP Garba said that frantic effort is ongoing for the possible arrest of the other fleeing hoodlums adding that the suspects would be arraigned in court soon.
El Salvador's President, Nayib Bukele, has just announced that his country, El Salvador, has purchased 200 Bitcoin ($10,364,780). He made the announcement via his Twitter handle, @nayibbukele. He also revealed that more coins will be purchased as the deadline approaches.
This is coming in preparation of the 7 September Cryptocurrency adoption date as El Salvador will become the first country to recognize Bitcoin as a legal tender on that day.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin has broken $52,000.
The bulls intensified their greens after El Salvador's government offered free $30 (£22) airdrop in bitcoins to encourage citizens to use its national wallet.
Over 200 ATMs are being installed across the country to enable citizens convert fiat to Bitcoin.
The Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, more commonly known as Sunday Igboho, has berated one of his lawyers, Ibrahim Salami, for allegedly disrespecting him.
In a leaked audio obtained by SaharaReporters, Ighoho claimed the lawyer abandoned him and kept him waiting for over 15 minutes while speaking to someone else.
He said, “I told him (lawyer) I was hungry and had to eat, and he told me to go. I told him to see me; it wasn’t because of those people that he came here now. I was waiting for him for 15 minutes. If he had told those people to give him time to attend to his client, that one would not have said anything because he knew you came there because of me.

I told them to either kill me or change my cell and that I didn’t care if they would open fire on me. They had no option than to change my cell. You know my baba; you know what I can do now.
“Are the lawyers God? The lawyers that can’t convince a judge to release me; see how many they are, about 10 of them, are those ones lawyers? The lawyers that can’t let them remove handcuffs from my hands for seven days until Falola came. It wasn’t small money that they collected, some collected N5million, some N4million. I’m not afraid of anyone of them.”
When told the lawyer claimed he had information for him, Igboho said, “I don’t need any information from them. Anything they want to do, they should do it. I don’t need any information from them, I told my wife when she visited me recently. Any information that can’t take me out of here is useless. He didn’t give me respect at all. That was actually what happened.”
Igboho is currently locked up in Benin Republic.
He was on July 20 arrested in Cotonou while trying to travel to Germany.
The Yoruba nation agitator fled Nigeria after he was declared wanted by the Department of State Services, DSS, following the alleged discovery of weapons in his Ibadan residence.
He, however, denied owning the weapons found in his house, stressing that they were planted there.
AntiBMC: Eyahh...I will take the link to the tweet more seriously than I would take ur yeye blog. Keep crying...la click la bend Genesis ko Exodus ni. Lmao
AntiBMC: Every blogger will just post trash nd be shouting "Breaking". Do you even know what breaking means? You did not break the news first, you were not at the scene, ur source is probably 10th-hand.. and you are shouting Breaking... Blogging don suffer for Naija.
I broke this fresh fact first. Unless you can prove me wrong.
At the scene? Read the piece, the witness is quoted. And not just an ordinary witness. It's Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro, a renowned Igbo figure.
At least, I will take him more seriously than an unknown Nairaland troll.
Fresh facts have emerged on how IPOB/ESN members set ablaze a trailer loaded with goods worth millions. Genesis News had earlier reported that some hoodlums on Monday hijacked a trailer in Obukpa, Nsukka Enugu state. The trailer was later incinerated on the ground that it violated the sit-at-home order issued by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. The order, however, has long been suspended, but factional leaders in the group's hierarchy continue to support and promote it.
An eyewitness who witnessed the incident has narrated what actually happened. While earlier reports narrated how the trailer was burnt, this fresh fact reveals more details.
According to the eyewitness, a popular Igbo figure on Twitter, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro,
He was killed by his brothers, claiming to be freedom fighters.
Who?
He had the highest plastic and stainless shop in Eke Ọkpọsị. An Ezza man living in Ọnịcha Igboeze that you will not even know he's not from Ọnịcha. This guy started from nothing and became something.
He bought a big truck which he used to convey his goods from one place to the other. He had the biggest shop in Eke Ọkpọsị and every other markets in Ọhaọzara.
Monday was sit-at-home. He received a call and was told that sit-at-home had been cancelled.
He was told to go and supply goods.
On that very Monday, he left Ọnịcha-Igboeze with his 6 Ụmụ boyi only for them to be intercepted by some hooligans claiming to be enforcing the order and fighting for freedom.
What happened?
This man was butchered and slaughtered like an animal including his boys at Anike-Ọnịcha before getting to Uburu. Only one managed to escape with wounds. His cars and goods were set ablaze.
The question is, who do us this? Are we going to get our freedom by killing ourselves?
If that is freedom I am not interested in it. I think these people using this avenue to perpetrate this evil should be held accountable. This is barbaric and condemnable.
How can you kill your brother, destroy him, destroy his goods and claim you are fighting for freedom?
I know this man in person. If you really know him, you will understand that he's a free man who doesn't look for trouble. He's a hustler and also a victim of bad leadership and everything everyone is passing through.
Now, the overzealous idiots have killed him,
claiming he faulted sit-at-home order. You that is going from road to road, looking for who doesn't sit-at-home are you not the one faulting the order? Why can't you too sit your ass at home as well? Who gave you work to kill your brother in the name of enforcing order?
Is killing him the best way to go about it?
You see me ba, I will never keep quiet when things aren't going well. I can't betray my conscience. This is pure madness. Maiming those you claim to fight for their freedom.
Exerting the same negativity you criticised external factors for. Arụ! How can you fight evil with evil? Nature will be against you.
Igbo anaghị ahụ ọbara nwanne ya. Igbo anaghị akwafu ọbara.
In my Ọkpọsị dialect, we say: "Ometara vuru".
Whatever you do must be in your head. If you spill the blood of your innocent brothers, it will never depart from your head and nemesis will surely catch up with you forever and ever. If you support evil, o so gị.
Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has asked God to give the country a personality with “good heart” like President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Governor Umahi expressed this wish during an interactive session with State House correspondents after meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The governor said it was too early to engage in the politics of 2023, describing it as a distraction to the president and state governors.
He, however, said members of different political parties from the South East were working within their parties to ensure that they conceded their presidential tickets to the region.
Asked whether South East leaders were working to get the main political parties to zone the Presidency to the region, he said: “Well, for me, I’m very much entrenched in completing my projects.
“And I will look into politics when my tenure is remaining one year, which is from May 29 2022. And I think it is the same thing with other governors of south east and by extension, governors of APC.
“My position about what you ask is that our people that are in those political parties are making the efforts in selling the need for south east to produce the next president.
“But I think both the governors and Mr. President should not be distracted. When the elections done and won, it should be governance. But in this country, the moment the election is completed, the next one starts is the masses that are being cheated.
“So, those whose job politics and who are not into elected position, or appointed position have all the time and the opportunity to do this canvassing. And I think that doing it and that doing it very well.
“But I continue to say that power rests in the hands of God. And God will also give us the next president who has good heart like President Buhari for the good of this country.
“We need God’s own anointing for our own anointed president for the interests and unity of this country.”
Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, says he has accepted his detention at a prison facility in the Republic of Benin as his “journey in life between me and God.”
On July 20, Igboho and Ropo, his wife, were arrested at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou by Benin Republic’s security forces while he was trying to flee to Germany.
He was detained at the request of the Nigerian government, who had declared him “wanted” after raiding his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
A week later, a Benin court blocked the immediate extradition of the self-determination activist to Nigeria while ruling that Igboho be remanded in prison pending further judgement.
Speaking in a leaked audio obtained by SaharaReporters, the Yoruba activist said he wasn’t afraid of being extradited to Nigeria.
He said in Yoruba, “My journey in life is between me and my God, I have accepted my fate where I’m currently. I’m not afraid of anything again, except my God. Even if taken before the Judge, I’ll tell him I’m not afraid of him except God. He can do anything to me.
“Even if it’s Nigeria they want to take me to, I’m not afraid. At least Nnamdi Kanu is there, we are both fighting for the same cause. If they want to take me back to Nigeria, then no problem. I have been winning my cases in Nigeria, even (Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar) Malami was forced to appeal some of them. It got to a stage he claimed he wasn’t aware of DSS (Department of State Services) attack on my house. He claimed he didn’t send them.
“It wasn’t the power of the Beninese government that made me to be here, it was because God wanted it like that. And I’m sure God will soon release me from prison even if all lawyers say they are not ready to defend me again. I’m not afraid of anything or anybody again. If it’s Nigeria, let them take me there. My father was very powerful when he was alive, but he died. He and my mum were very poor. But look at me today, I’m rich.”
President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the ministers of power and agric, Peoples Gazette has learnt.
The president relieved Saleh Mamman and Sabo Nanono of their cabinet positions on Wednesday.
The minister of environment has been named as the agric minister; while the minister of state for works and housing has been asked to act as substantive power minister.

A source code within Twitter beta suggests that a tipping service has been implemented and being tested. The service, which is strike enabled, would enable users to send and receive tips in Bitcoin.
Strike is an application that enables users to send Bitcoin at close to zero costs. According to Jack Maller, CEO of Zap Solutions, and developer of the Strike application, Strike is out to disrupt cryptocurrency companies like Coinbase, others which charge around 3% for every Bitcoin purchase. According to Maller, his target is to beat down the commission to 0.1% or 0..
His words:
"I have been buying bitcoin on Strike for about a month. I have been a bitcoiner for almost a decade at this point, and I am proud of the experience that we have built. Buying bitcoin with no additional fees is how it always should have been."
With Twitter integrating Strile and a Bitcoin Tipping Service, the future looks bright for Maller.
