I noticed the version currently in my phone is the 12.0. 3 version, and the update is a 12.0.1. 0 version. Isn't the update meant to be higher cos this 12.0.1.0 seems like a downgrade from a 12. 0.3. But that's what the phone is bringing

Your current ROM is based on Android Q(10) that is why on the MIUI VERSION It is 12.0.3 Q**MIXM

This on the other hand is 12.0.1 R**MIXM based on Android R(11)

People need to learn. Even the so called unlock bootloader and flash custom ROMs guys no go ever tell people wetin their eyes see.

That is it. They we shout unlock bootloader, flash custom ROM when small issue happen they will flee and leave you to your fate. Na still people wey dey caution you go still rally round to help you.

AOSP dey too neat, this Pixel Experience I installed just dey slick and smooth like butter mehn, be like these OEMs dey mess the whole thing up.

Discounting the smoothness, the hardwares - CPU just dey very happy now, I almost think I bought a new phone.

Xiaomi hardware + AOSP = slick and smooth sha, beautiful stuff.

There is a reason we took stuffs like this from this thread and moved it to a home of its own.

If you want to talk about custom ROMs all you want do it in the other thread.

I proceeded to download a fastboot rom and flashed through mi flash tool but I got an error of flash time elapsed subsequently the phone reported system is damaged.

I was flashing the global rom, miui 12 based on Android 11..
The only thing I can do on the phone as it stands is just fastboot.

Hope you didn't tick to lock bootloader while flashing the fastboot ROM?

No issues here, another 12.5 update was released last week. The little bugs left are negligible and should be fixed subsequently.

Custom ROMs don't require SU access to install though. Pixel Experience I did only required to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery

How does this relate to what he was talking about?

Where did he say you can't install custom ROM without Super SU?

Simply say display. The Display is sold as a full unit. Not as Glass and the others separate.
