How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11/12 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 11/12 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

You can check out redmi note 9 too as it fits your budget, poco m3. If you can add few bucks, you can get the redmi note 10

RN10 base model fits the budget perfectly.

Nothing special. It is just like every other phone out there. Create, verify and sign in your Mi Account.

Every other thing is in the Xiaomi Compilation Thread.

If you check few pages back, I dropped a link on how to disable ads if at all you come across them.

Fonts are gotten from the theme store. Just search for any of Aafont, Moby Fonts, Free or the name of the font, look through several, choose and apply.

You will get a hang of MIUI as you use the phone, no one can teach you better than yourself

Xiaomi fam, its been quite a long while here. Good to see how much this thread has helped and still helping lots of people. Still really enjoying my Note 9 Pro.
But here is a quick question:
I have done a comparison of the specs of Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro. The current price gap between both devices (6/128) is not wide.
Please does anyone have any possible explanation for this?

That's Xiaomi been competitive. When RN8 came out it was cheaper than RN7.

I really don't have anyone in mind, just a low budget phone for an elderly woman, with long lasting battery.

There are alot of sellers on the thread store that are legit. You can just ask for a vouch when you see the one that lists a phone that fits your budget.
