For most complaints by installers on tracking Consat signals, I found out that the LNB Settings have being tampered with and thereby making it impossible to get the signal. Before your Consat can be activated, your decoder must display a channel list of between 53 to 55 channels. Though out of these channels, only about 4 of them will be displaying. The rest of the channels will be locked. If after tracking the Consat signal and you do not see the channels, one possible cause is that the LNB Setting might have being changed. To make sure the LNB Settings is right, follow the steps On the Consat Remote Control, Select "Menu" and scroll the options on the right to "Search for Channels" |

What we are experiencing about examinations and particularly UTME is that there is a gradual phasing out of paper and pencil type in exams. We are coming to a time when every examination will be CBT, and UTME 2014 candidates and the younger ones should start getting familiar with computer exam taking. A good way to start is to get a good online platform where one can practise for as much as possible because someone who is more familiar with an exam system will invariably perform better than someone who is not. A good place to start is www.e-learningnigeria.com . Not matter how well you think you may have prepared for any exam, it is also very vital that revisions are made as much as possible. My advise to prospecting candidates for UTME 2014 is READ! That is the only way of knowing and understanding. Success to everyone sitting for UTME 2014 IJN. |
Consat is a Direct to Home (DTH) broadcasting service owned by CBS (Continental Broadcasting Service, owners of TVC and Radio Continental). Consat TV currently has 53 free channels upon fresh installation and activation, and these free channels run for 2 months. After which you can subscribe for any of the 2 available bouquets. They are: I. Free-to-View - 16 channels II. Classic - Full channels (currently 53) Some of the available channels are: - Dove TV - TVC News - LTV - NHK - France 24 - Bloomberg - A-Plus Movies - DW - Nigezie - TVC Nolly (English) - TVC Movies (Yoruba) - TVC Movies (Hausa) - Al-Jazeera - Fashion TV - BET - Viasat Nature - Fox Business - Fox News - BBC - Sports Plus - Nickelodeon Europe, etc The Consat system comes with a 90cm dish, decoder, smart card (which is married to the decoder when activated), and dish accessories. Installation of Consat is similar to any PayTV setup, only you need to be familiar with the parameters to get the best possible signal quality. For setup, you are strongly advised to use an MPEG4 decoder with satellite tracking abilities (Infinity, Strong would do). The frequency is 11293 and symbol rate 45000 H. It is positioned at 16 oE. When tracking for signal, you need to achieve signal strength and quality over 80% to get stable feed. Once you achieve this with the Strong decoder, you can then replace it with the Consat decoder and start up the system. For fresh installation, you should always do a software upgrade (be sure that the power supply is steady to avoid interruption and possible damage to the decoder). Please make sure that the software upgrade is carried out by a duly qualified so as to avoid damage to your decoder. During installation, you should liaise with the dealer you bought the system from so it can be activated for you. Hope this has being helpful. Questions? call 012778690 You can now get Consat decoder online and have it delivered to you

Growing an idea into a multi-billion dollar company goes in phases. The most essential stage is from the point of developing a groundbreaking idea to when venture capitalist come in. These venture capitalists come in because they see potentials in the business idea. But before that, an innovator needs angel investors (those who are willing to invest their resources even when there are no visible signs of success). Getting an angel investor in Nigeria requires the grace of God. I've being there, started an online testing portal and had to approach two banks but was turned down on some issues that had to do with bank policies. This same project is growing, and might take a longer time. However, I do not subscribe to the fact that an African cannot produce a Google, or a Facebook, it's just that the African will have to put in more effort, and this invariably leads to longer period of time. All I can say to the world is watch out for me. |
End of ASUU Strike in Sight? THE Federal Government will, today, meet with the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in last-ditch efforts to end the ongoing indefinite strike by the union. The truce meeting between the government and the union last week Friday, midwifed by the Benue State governor, Mr Gabriel Suswam, was inconclusive. Indications, however, were that the belligerent lecturers might declare ceasefire and return back to classroom at the end of this week. Governor Suswam, who was drafted to intervene in the face-off, told newsmen on Friday, after about three hours of meeting, that the parties had agreed on all other issues except two, slated to be resolved this week. The two issues, according to him, were earned allowance and funding of university education, in view of the infrastructure deficit in the system. |

No Going Back on Strike - ASUU The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has reaffirmed its stand on the ongoing strike as one of no going back, until the full implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government. The union rejected recent plans by the Federal Government to re-negotiate on the earlier agreement, stating that the 2009 agreement was not signed by the Federal Government under duress. ........................................................... e-learning Nigeria for updates on that admission. An Appeal to ASUU and FG to Settle Their Impasse - A Concerned Citizen Every time there's a strike action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the question that runs through my mind is "Why do we have to endure this again?" History has shown us that whenever students stay away from their classrooms because of strike, the society suffers. Students are left jobless while roaming the streets, engaging all sorts of vices. Those who are expected to spend four years for a first degree end up spending much more than that. I could give a thousand side effects of the ASUU strike, but that would make me sound like the lead characters in this onging face-off between the Federal Government and ASUU. All every right thinking NIgerian wants is solutions. Not just reactive solutions but proactive ones that would not only end this impasse, but proffer a long lasting means for the characters involved to always settle their disputes with involving the students. When elders go wrong, who do you call to settle their disputes. Since the FG and ASUU have refused to see reasons why they should compromise, in the interest of the students, I'm appealing on behalf of the students. My plea; two wrongs don't make a right. I want ASUU to go back to lecturing while the FG works out how the 2009 agreement can be implemented, even if this has to be done in phases. Remember, posterity will judge these actors, not by what they intended to do, but by what they did. I believe every right thinking individual knows the right thing to do, so ASUU and the FG should do the right thing. No one should be absolved from their responsibilities, even the students. However, I would like to appreciate the maturity of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on this issue. Fraud Alert From Unilorin For Candidates! NUC warns varsities against unapproved post-UTME fee THE 59th National Council on Education (NCE) meeting was concluded at the weekend in Abuja in agreement that the National Universities Commission (NUC) will sanction universities that charge above the approved post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) fee of N2,000.00. The umbrella education decision body also approved the Isoko language curriculum in selected schools. The Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, urged the NUC to enforce and regulate a uniform fee by the tertiary institutions for the admission examinations nationwide. She stressed that the NCE’s theme on “Strengthening the institutional management of education for quality service delivery” is apt on educational improvement in the country. Rufa’i emphasised developments to improve the sector to include “access and equity with the commencement of Almajiri education in 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); the integration of Albinism education into the school system and campaigns on girls’ education in the North and boys’ education in the South.” She said that teacher-development and motivation, technical and vocational education and training, development and deployment of ICT in education, school census, public-private partnership, adult and non-formal education are cornerstone of the sector’s growth. Earlier, the Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike, said that the meeting was an indication of commitment to address the challenges in the education sector and consensus building in policy development and implementation. He noted that the ministry has commenced the process of addressing the challenges of institutional management through Needs Assessment and Impact Assessment conducted in the Unity Colleges and public universities in 2012. The NCE approved the revised nine-year basic education curriculum, with effect from 2014 beginning with Primary 1 and Junior Secondary School 1, and that the admission ratio of students in science and trade subjects into technical colleges should be 30 and 70. The body agreed that every student in federal and state science and technical colleges must offer a technical subject. Need past questions, CBT practice platform? call 08032093913 |
