I served in Sardauna local government area of Taraba state, Gembu to be precise, which happens to be the first time in my life I would come in contact with the Fulani tribe, to be honest those people are very kind and caring. That was when I knew that it is not good to classify everyone from a particular tribe as bad eggs.
Exactly my point. I stay in Zangon Kataf, where the heat of the matter is. I can still say not all of them are the same. Yet those who are not even close to this hot zones will be generalizing the whole thing.

Every tribe, race, region etc, has its good and bad individuals no doubt, but some tribes only way of settling disputes in this age and dispention is through killing and maiming.

OP, I agree with you 100%.

The evil practices of some have made people believe that all Fulani Herdsmen are evil.

I believe there are still many of them that are not violent.

Christianity EtcMy Experience As A Christian Corps Member by GentleA(op):
My Experience as a Christian Corps Member in Southern Kaduna

He asked for water. This little fulani child. His father stood afar, watching. The cows preying upon the greens.
Fulanis.
The other night some men attacked a village with AK 47 and cutlass. I saw the headline. 'suspected herdsmen..'
He stood afar watching, with his cows. An Herdsman. His son too.
From the well I drew hard. Sent someone to get a cup. I watched him, the smiles were forming. The boy drank from a cup. My cup.
His father came nearer. With hausa he spoke, I couldn't understand the words. But love is universal. Our hearts understood each other.
I wondered. I've always wondered.
"They're not all the same" I told a friend.
We shouldn't see them as killers. They're not all the same. Some know love. Some know kindness. Some have showed kindness. To me, directly.
During their festival. I visited. This fulani boy I knew. His mother smiled. His sisters happy. To see a Christian coming to their house during their muslim festival.
They brought Nunu, I drank. This milk gotten from a Cow's breast. They brought a well prepared Rice and Stew, with meat sitting on top. I ate. The plastic drink, I drank.
I didn't bring anything for them. Except me. Just me, with a friend. They appreciated.
I saw smiles. I saw love. Not of the same religion. Not of the same tribe.
Love is a universal language.
When I see Christians looking at hausa/fulani muslims with doubt and fears. I wonder.
When I see the way we call them names. I wonder.
When I see the hate we ascribe to their personalities. I wonder. When I see how we fear this part of the country, the North. I wonder.
Which God do you really Serve?
You know why He spoke of love alone as the greatest command?
Love is a universal language. Love could quench a thousand hate. Love could wipe a million pain. Love could heal the world. Love could change the heart of man.
Love. Love. Love.
That's all we need for Nigeria to be great again. Not weapons. Not certificates. Not power. Not even prayers, or preaching. Love is all we need.
Without it, a thousand sermon is only but noise to it's hearers.
Love is all we need for our Country to be great again. For peace to reign, love must first reign.
Love is not just for the brother next door. Not just for the brother, same church. Love is also for that man of a different religion and tribe. For that man who despise and abuse you. For that man, who never saw your value.
Love is for all. Love is what we need!
If you want a man to change, love. Unconditionally.
Crisis ends when love sets in.

Christianity EtcLove: Pastors And Parents Must Know This by GentleA(op):
The Pastor spoke of Love so pure, Christ-like. Adults gave a nod. Children cried a lot, his death was a story they loved.
Youths, kept mute. The message wasn't new.
Christ-like love?
They all know. They've heard it before. How He died for us all.
That love. Known by Christians. They called it Agape. A love so pure. Only the pure could love so.
Youths. They've heard it all.
Yet. They can't understand the feelings they have inside.
Which love is this?
Pastor only said if it's not Agape, then it's Eros. The kind shown known by sinners. Nothing else was said.
Tomorrow his son impregnates a girl in church. He marvelled.
"Why you? You're my son. You're supposed to be an example to all the kids and youths in church".
His son, looked at him. With tears, he said.
"Dad.. you never said anything else aside Christ-like love. I've always loved her. But didn't know exactly what that love was. You all in church act as though it isn't there. Like there's no such love aside the kind that makes you see a girl as your sister. You act as though there's no such love aside the kind that makes you pray for another.
What about the love that makes me long to see her face? What about the kind that makes me think of just her?
What about that love?
The kind that makes me crave for her presence to the point where I stay in the dark just to hear her speak.
What about that love?
What did you say about it?
And please, don't go telling me only sinners know that kind.
If you saw mum as your sister alone, then you must have married her as your sister, not as your wife"
.
Pastor was stunned. His son never asked him before because he wasn't open and sincere enough.
When he spoke if love, he failed to understand that even at age 12, one could fall in love.
It wasn't in his memory. That teenagers of nowadays loss their virginity even at age 13.
And that a child of 17 has alread recorded series of heartbreaks.
Now his son. Just 19. Is to become a father like him.
One sided preaching is never enough.
They're always two sides of a coin.
Youth should know what love is, generally.
They should be informed about love. the good, bad and ugly sides.
Maybe that way, they'll know that their feelings and attraction for the opposite sex, is normal. It makes them human.
Teach them how to control it that feelings, tame it and not have it destroy them. Just as you also teach them of a love so pure.
For when the Church acts as though the only love that's worth talking about, is Christ-like Love. They'll always be a case of fornication even within Church walls.

Love is not just the pastor's job to preach. Parents should too. A child up to the age of puberty should get to know what the world is like.

When I said repentant boko haram members repented, and so should be given a second chance. Most of you countered me, you said "they deserve to die!" "The government are petting terrorist"... Bla bla and bla.

Now here's another person regarded as a terrorist, killed by the military. It still doesn't make sense, you now have a different complain, "he should have been granted amnesty as promised".. "the army are weaklings, why kill a man who surrendered".

You see?
Even if you feed a man for free, it'll still sound like foul play. There's always something to complain about.

About Gana's death, only God knows why it went that way. I just hope he found Christ before his death.

Good and bad is not a question of Nationality but of personality. You just met a Good person in Zimbabwe, that doesn't necessarily imply that everyone in Zimbabwe is perfect. The same goes for Nigerians, we're not all bad, and they're places in Nigeria too where policemen Don't hold guns but battons. I guess the problem is that we keep mute about the good things in Nigeria, and its Good people, and only tell stories of the bad. That's what we should change!

Mama Hajaratu David, 45 years old with three children has been a widow since 2018. On Friday, 10 July, 2020 she and her three children were sleeping in Chibwob, their village under Atyap Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf LG Area of Kaduna State, when she woke up to the sounds of Gunshots around 12 midnight. The village was being attacked!
.
In her words: “We were sleeping around 12 midnight when we heard gunshots. We initially thought it was our local vigilantes, but after the second shot I quickly woke my three children from sleep. I heard more gunshots and so we ran out of the house.
.
"We went to a neighbour’s house but saw the house was empty. We came back and locked ourselves in our small kitchen but the sounds of bullets continued loudly all over the village and people were screaming, so we ran out of our house and out of the village. We were still being pursued. We got to a hill and looked behind and saw houses in Chibwob village on fire. We could still hear gunshots."
.
“We continued running and in the process, I got separated with my two children. I had my two-year-old baby on my back, so I continued running. I got to a river and decided to cross it. I entered and as walked, I realized the river was deep because of the rains. I thought of going back but I needed to get away from the people killing in my village. I was struggling inside the river by this time and I felt my baby holding me tightly.
.
"I then got swept by the water which was almost at my neck. My baby was still holding tightly to me and I was still struggling with the water. I got pulled under the water but was able to come to the surface. It happened again. After the third time, I was able to get to the other side of the river. That was when I realized that my baby was not on my back anymore. I searched and searched while crying but couldn’t find her. I then continued walking in the dark. I was also naked by this time."
.
"After trekking for some time, I got to a village called Yagbak and knocked on someone’s door. They opened, took me in after I told them that my village was attacked and gave me clothes to wear. The next day Saturday, I and other survivors came to the camp in Zonkwa. My two children that got separated with me were found and brought here, but the body of my two-year-old baby is yet to be found."

The story above was not written by me.
And should not be seen as one of those works of fiction.
It's a True Story that sums up the entire story of a thousand others.
The places mentioned in the story are situated in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area in Kaduna, where I'm currently serving.
.
I had once tried to believe that these attacks were provoked, or like the Governor called it, ‘revenge attacks'.
.
It's almost unbelievable, that in this 21st century, people could walk into a village without being provoked, kill people, burn houses, with a notification of their return.
It sounds unbelievable, right?
What is more unbelievable is the fact that the Villagers did nothing wrong.
They were attacked, by people they never offended.
I've heard of a place nearbye, where during a ceremony, armed bandits walked in and fired randomly.
.
Yet, the Government, instead of resolving the issue, deemed it fit to call the attacks a revenge, telling the world that there's much more to the attacks (is there ever a good reason for killing unarmed and innocent people?).
.
They're mothers like Mama Hajaratu David, children like hers, and even fathers who can no longer find their children. These people had been displaced from their various homes, and are currently living in a Camp.
.
This people need help, and as Corps Members residing in that locality, we have decided to contribute our Quota.

What if it's a very known and wanted kingpin who decides to surrender and ask for forgiveness. Do you expect the government to do "forgive and forget"?

If so, nobody is suppose to be in prison or sentenced to death as far as he/she pleads for forgiveness
I get your point. But here's the deal.
Boko Haram sect are not kingpins.
They're deadly and seen among the worst in the world.
Americans don't negotiate with terrorist, that's perhaps because they have what it takes to defeat them.

But Nigeria... For how long have we been fighting this Boko guys?
How come despite the fights, they're still out there.

You kill one today.. tomorrow they abduct like 20 children from a remote village, train them to kill, poison their minds to the point where they forget who they're.

I don't support Buhari led Government that much, I'm not even a Politics kind of guy. But believe me, this is perhaps the best strategy the government can use to stop this guys.

Why?
Because.. it makes the members see the possibility of a life outside Boko Haram.
If you kill this repentant Boko Haram members, you leave the active members no choice but to fight to death.

Meanwhile, granting pardon to them is a bait, to make others surrender and repent too.

Why do you think the Government is even publicising all this repentant boko haram stuffs. Showing every bit of their progress, publishing even their names?

It's more like telling the active members that there's a chance to Live free!

Of course the Government is aware of the risk and will definitely place an eye on them.

You see.. because people don't understand this thingsz they'll always rant and complain about everything.
Wasting their efforts on things they can do nothing about.

As far as they took someone's life, the law demands that their lives be stolen from them.

You keep spilling gibberish because none of your family members was affected/killed by them.
If the Government decides to Give guns to those family members, with an order, Kill them all!

Someone somewhere will still complain.

I live in Southern Kaduna Sir.. we fear the night, the day and even the sight of Fulanis...

But we know the True enemy is not the one who holds the Gun, he too is a victim.
The True enemy sits in the Dark, controlling the darkness of the world.

That's why even when those family members take revenge, they still won't have peace of mind. Because they only allowed themselves to be controlled by the True Enemy.

The problem with our world is that we always see the physical, and never open our eyes to the spiritual.

The first female combat Helicopter Pilot in Nigeria, Tolulope Arotile, dies in a Car Accident, at age 23.

Arotile can be seen as one of the greatest Young Lady of our time, and will always be remembered.
She died young, very young. Yet, for the short time she lived, she had scaled great horizons, spanning borders and landmarks that many within her age range can only dream off.

According to NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, until her death, ‪Flying Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in September 2017 as a member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the service.‬ During her short but impactful stay in the service, late Arotile, who hails from Iffe in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State.”

Arotile was a Brave Nigerian Lady who found found her space, to serve and to make a difference.

Her life is a typical example of a short life, well lived. Even the President Mourns her demise.

Although she’s no more, she’ll always be remembered; she left behind, legacies that can never be worn out by the sands of time.

She died, just at the age of about 23.

How old are you?

Not Arotile Now, I mean you!

How old are you?

You may had lived even beyond Arotile’s age, but what have you done so far with your life?

Tolulope Arotile Pursued her Passion.
She was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the service.‬
I believe someone may had tried to dissuade her from going that lane.
Somehow somewhere, someone may had said to her,
”Tolu, that’s not for a lady..”

Yet, she pursued and never gave up.

You’re not Arotile, I know.
You don’t have to be a Pilot like her, I know.

But you need to Pursue that Dream, with Passion.
You’re not too young, to make a difference!

As we mourn the Death of Tolulope Arotile, think about your life.

On that day, when you too shall pass on to the great beyond, what will you leave behind?

What’s your life for?
Who are you?
What are you doing with your life?

Live a life, that when you get to the last mile, you can look back and smile!

RIP Tolulope Arotile, You still live!

Yea.. but stuffs like this are meant to educate people, make people understand what they're buying.
But wait oo, you keep on saying “cut your coat according to your size".. by that, i guess your opinion is about people buying what they can afford. This is quite perplexing. Do you know that Samsung Grand Prime Pro is just about 45k or less, and even outdated, yet I can beat my chest and boldly say “that phone is better than Spark 4!" Not to even mention A30s and the others. Guy, some better phones out there are quite cheaper, compared to what Tecno Offers. The truth is, people jus don't cut their coats according to their sizes, they're rather, blinded by Tecno marketing strategies. I'm not saying people shouldn't buy what they can afford, I'm just saying people should go for notes, not coins. You end up paying more with coins.

Three men were in the middle of an ocean, on a ship, in the midst of a turbulent storm, all because of one reason, Gold.
One of them is a Policeman, an early father, whose wife was pregnant. He should have been in the warmth of his home, with his beloved wife engulfed in his arms, but No. He was in the middle of an Ocean, making sure that all the golds were drowned.

The other two had a common goal. One was a Policeman, and was also a friend and a partner to the Policeman, until when he was captured and held held hostage by the leader of a gold smuggling gang, during one of their usual quest to hunt down the gold smugglers.
As he laid, hunged and tortured, the leader of the group threw a gold at him and the rest was history; He betrayed his friend, became a gold seeker too, just in a split of seconds.

The last of the three, was the leader, the criminal. He had lost his brothers, just in a bid to hunt for gold. Yet, his heart was still bent on holding those sparkling bricks within his grasp.

These three, were all in the middle of an Ocean, in a cold and stormy night, but only one had a different intention, the Policeman.
Before the storm came, his wife had asked him
“A storm is coming, and you still want to stay in the sea, to hunt down those criminals, is it worth risking your life?”

She had taught it was just about apprehending his friend who betrayed him, or getting the greedy hands of the gang leader within curfs.
He looked at her, sternly, and said,
“It’s not about the smuggler, or the betrayer, it’s about those golds. As long as they’re out there, man will fight and kill to own them. It has to be drowned in the depths of the sea, where no one will find it.”

The golds were initially seized by the Government, during the successful operation of the Police, led by this particular Policeman. They were kept within a box, in a ship, guarded by security men. But when the storms came, the police men fled, a perfect timing for those who intend to steal.
All except two police men stayed on the sea. One, to drown them all, and the other, to help the criminal take them all.

The criminal and his new found allegiance fought hard and long, trying to stop the Policeman who was busy casting the golds into the ocean.
The storms raging hard, threatening to take the life of anyone who would dare to stand against it. At some point, the Criminal left the fight, leaving a dagger in the hands of his accomplice, with an instruction “Kill Him!”
He meant to say, “Kill your friend, your partner, the one who once cracked cases with you. Kill Him, so we can both take this golds.”

He left the fight, swimming against the tides, taking up the fallen golds from the ocean’s bed.
As he left, the storm rose high, casting a heavy weight upon his accomplice. But he was warned. The one whom he betrayed warned him, he saw the storms coming down, and screamed hard “watch out!”
But his friend whose eyes gold blinded, wouldn’t take heed.
He was running towards grabing a piece of gold, when the storms fell upon him heavily, basking his head against a pole.
He died, but in his hands was a brick of gold he held tightly, but couldn’t spend.

The criminal on the other hand, his leader I mean. Succeeded in putting all the golds in a fisherman’s net.
The net, so heavy, was too hard to drag into the ship. He swam hard, pulling and pulling, the storms, still raging hard. Yet, he wouldn’t let the golds go. As he pulled, his god, the god of the sea he wore as necklace around his neck, broke free from his neck. He never went after it, instead, he held tightly, the net filled with golds, pulling and pulling, until his eyes turned red, his lungs gave up, running out of breath.
Finally, he let go, but it was not until life left him. He sank into the depths of the ocean, with golds lying beside his lifeless body.

Three men defied all odds, dared a great storm, stayed in the middle of an ocean, for the sake of Gold.
Only one survived, the one whose heart was not in golds.
The other two, died, with golds adorning their lifeless body.

Like the other two, I’ve held onto addictions that’s killing, yet I didn’t let go.

Smoking habits that slowly steals life from the smoker, yet they wouldn’t let go.
Pornographic Images and Videos, masturbating and sex life, that gradually engulfs our being, gulping our purpose, ambitions, and our Love for God. Yet, we won’t let go!

Like the other two, we’ve forsaken God, the maker of Golds, to pursue golds. Holding onto Mammon, so tightly, that even when it hurts us, we still wouldn’t let go.

The other two were not perfect, but I count myself not as the Perfect Policeman whose heart is not in Golds.
I’m just like the other two, an Over-decorated sinner, whose body, though not lifeless, is adorned with things that kills, yet I failed to let Go.

From the other two, I’m learning to Let Go!
I know I’ve been in the streets eating from the filth of swines, I know I may not be seen as a son, may not have the Glory that once was tied to my being, because I had betrayed a Father and a Friend, to pursue golds, but if only He(God) will accept me back, even as a Servant. I would rather have my lifeless body, though poor, adorned with sincerity, honesty and sanity, than to have my lifeless body adorned with Golds that stole my life, when I refused to Let Go!
