Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigeria To Create Jobs With Transition Into Renewable Energy – FG by gentlekeny(m): 1:27pm On Nov 14, 2023
Certainly! Nigeria has great potential to create jobs through the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. Here are three ways the government could foster job creation in the renewable energy sector:

Investment in Solar Energy Projects:
The government can encourage and support the development of large-scale solar energy projects. This includes investing in solar farms, rooftop solar installations, and solar manufacturing facilities. These projects require a diverse range of skills, from engineers and technicians for installation and maintenance to administrative and managerial positions. Additionally, the manufacturing of solar panels and other related equipment can create jobs in the production sector.

Wind Energy Development:
Nigeria has significant wind resources, particularly in the northern regions. Investing in wind energy projects can lead to job creation in various areas. This includes jobs related to the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of wind turbines. Skilled technicians, engineers, and project managers are essential for the successful development and operation of wind farms. Furthermore, there are opportunities for job creation in the transportation and logistics sector for transporting wind turbine components.

Promotion of Small-Scale Renewable Energy Systems:
The government can promote the adoption of small-scale renewable energy systems, such as decentralized solar power systems and small wind turbines. This approach can stimulate job creation at the local level, involving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Jobs would be created in sales, installation, and maintenance of these systems, providing economic opportunities in rural and urban areas alike.

In addition to these specific strategies, the government should also focus on creating a conducive policy environment, providing training programs to develop a skilled workforce, and offering incentives to attract private investment in the renewable energy sector. By adopting a comprehensive approach, Nigeria can leverage its abundant renewable energy resources to not only address its energy needs but also to spur economic growth and job creation.

Politics / Re: FG Moves To Secure Jobs For Nigerians by gentlekeny(m): 1:23pm On Nov 14, 2023
In as much as no name is accredited to this statement is a pointer that there is no concerted effort in putting this to action. However, if the the government really want to create jobs for Nigerians, they should do the following:

1. Investment in Infrastructure: The government can stimulate job creation by investing in critical infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and energy facilities. These projects not only create immediate employment opportunities but also contribute to long-term economic development.

2. Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Implementing policies that provide financial incentives, access to credit, and technical support for small and medium-sized enterprises can spur entrepreneurship and job creation. SMEs are often significant contributors to employment in many economies. Taxes should be waved or subsidized for certain SMEs too. For instance, the SMEs that are into manufacturing of shoes, clothes and household items should be given certain tax waivers.

3. Skills Development and Education: By prioritizing education and skills development programs, the government can enhance the employability of its workforce. This includes initiatives to improve both technical and soft skills, aligning them with the needs of the evolving job market.

4. Agricultural Development: Boosting the agricultural sector can create jobs in farming, agribusiness, and related industries. Implementing modern farming techniques, providing access to credit for farmers, and improving infrastructure in rural areas can contribute to job creation and poverty reduction.

5. Promotion of Technology and Innovation
: Encouraging the growth of technology and innovation sectors can lead to the creation of high-skilled jobs. Support for research and development, fostering a conducive environment for startups, and investing in digital infrastructure can position Nigeria for the jobs of the future.

I rest my case.

Sexual harassment is a norm in most public universities in Nigeria. It's just that girls involved don't report it for fear of being victimized by other lecturers while some use that route as an alternative to graduate and buy grades.
