while it is true that most take it to the extreme,we have to realize that christianity is not about what is good and what is bad(religion)it is a way of life.man lost an important thing in the fall that is called dominion in life.it was restored in the redemption ie christ death,burial and ressurection.God is not poor and does not expect his children to be poor.those preachers that take it to extreme should be left for God for it is to him they either stand or fall but honestly i dont think of any that understands of what has been freely given to him in the redemption, will ever think of poverty again whether pastor or a layman which is why i alwayys laugh when people in this forum talk about men like oyedepo,pastor chris.for the record i attend none of their churches but their is an understanding these men has and they are maximizing it.the few ones that uses gimmicks to exploit their congregation does not diminish the truth that God is rich and has given this earth with all its vast resources to man to explore via dominion

waoh congrats to him and wifey but what really got my attention was the nature of the wedding:VERY PRIVATE despite the billions he has.it got me thinking about the big wedding(in quote)we are subscribing to in this part of d world..its not a must that everybody i know must come to my wedding lol.

it is very illogical to me that God having expended his most treasurable possession he has(the life of his Son)to save a man,will let the same man be damned for any justificable reason.i think it is an insult to the blood of the new covenant.Heb 10:10-14.it was a FINISHED WORK.Those of us that are in this new covenant,the emphasis on works in any of its kind is for rewards.1 cor 3:10-15.God's gift are eternal

@afam ur sister is 100% right.am not a christ embassy member and i have had a personal struggle trying to understand mind of God in dis matter after answering many altar calls.a friend gave me a book,''the normal christian life''by watchman nee.studying it alongside the bible,The truth of d matter is that God dealth with sin once and for all on the cross.we are quick to interprete scriptures in isolation but the whole message of the new covenant is dat salvation,righteousness,eternal life are GIFTS God give to those that receive christ.eph 2:8.the gifts are eternal. i think what we 've been taught wrongly is to believe that we can add to what God has finished.Grace on the other hand delivers dominion to a man that understands it,sin doesn't hv d final say again to him that walk by grace.

i am impressed by d contributions to this so far.i once ws troubled by dis issue once until light came to me by own very pastor.
The(1) first he made me to understand is dat under the new covenant which we are under now,every form of curse is abolished so dr is no need 4 any man of God to threaten his congregation with devourers if they dont pay their tithe.
(2)The tithe like we all know preceeds the law,abraham ws before d law,he paid tithe to melchizedech as a mark of his dependence on God.''for he said i've sworn to d most high God not to collect anything from you(king of sodom)lest you say i've made abraham rich. So i think tithe is saying to God,i depend on your provisions,financially and otherwise. Tithe is given out of love 4 God nt as a matter if compulsion by some men of God.
