QuoteJust1nce: Common, nobody was bashing him. In fact, in some forums e.g SO, Reddit etc, the comment would get downvoted or even deleted if it was a duplicate or if it required self-effort to solve. And there's a big warning to "search before posting". It can be quite cringe to answer the same questions over and over; for example, we've had to post numerous screenshots of speed test over. Someone else will still come and ask "please how fast is starlink i wanna buy" All in all, chill dude he is. Merci |

QuoteJust1nce: It remains Elon's signature When you ordered on the website, weren't you told what the order comes with? It's even right there in the box; but you guys would not spend one second to read user manuals, instructions et al but rush online to post. A simple search "what does the Starlink kit come with" would answer you. Questions on forums are meant to be posted as the last resort when you cannot find answers. besides 99% the questions posted have been answered over and over again. Barman.. Give this man 3 bottles of cold Heineken on my bill I intentionally stopped responding to some enquiries here cos of its funny nature of the question Read instructions.. They won't read Simple Google search.. They won't do |

Valoromega: I've been married for 2 years now with a new born baby. the issue now is that anytime we have issues my wife always threatens to leave. she will arrange and bag and say she's leaving. this has happened more tha 4 times, basically anytime we have issues as a couple.
She will say she's still young and she can't take any nonsense in marriage, Mind u i have never hit her before so this isnt a case of domestic violence, just normal couples issue.
I'm tired of this and i'm thinking about my options right now, I want to tell her to leave but she should drop my child for me. she can't use our marriage as a threat everytime we have issues Why are u holding her back.. Help her pack her bags and lock ur door when she leaves.. Nonsense The day u threaten me like that, i will ensure u leave my house that day |

QuoteJust1nce: Lagos already at capacity (for a long time now). What does that tell you? Oh you're in Enugu (residential, I presume); there was even no point for this. Lagos don reach capacity sinceeee vis-a-vis deployed satellites |

QuoteJust1nce: Yeah just wanted to put it out there to prevent someone from getting the router and then disappointed at their speeds during peak hours. I have an external router too; but it's mainly to cover dead zones in the upper floor. Most of my devices are connected to the main router. Gbam... Same connection i have.. To cover dead zones 👍 |

QuoteJust1nce: The speed is not enhanced by the router. You'll get the same speed on the 5GHz (most especially during midnight). I have found Starlink to be incredibly fast at late hours, up to 300+Mbps. But during the day it drops to around 100+Mbps (especially for my area where it's at capacity and I'm on roaming) U ar spot on.. My speed for Surulere Lagos dey reach 150-200Mbs early hours of the morning and late at night. Drops to like 50-60Mbps during peak periods It is not router dependent my speed test na direct from Starlink router |

femi1743: Thanks for this insight. I just placed an order and will pickup tomorrow or friday.
House, please i will need guidance on how to go from here...I stay in Ota, Ogun State so i hope capacity here isnt full like Lagos from what i have read so far on this thread.
How do i register for residential and what other accessories do i need to get (wall mount, ethernet adapter etc) For you to know if your place is at full capacity or not , just go to www.starlink.com and put your address then click check availability.. U will get this info If u want your network to be felt everywhere around ur apartment (2/3 bedroom flat, Duplex), u will need an ethernet adapter and a 3rd party router I think the default plan is residential |

cypher01: For anyone having issues with Starlink speed being slower after using external router.
Make sure you’re using a good Ethernet cable(cat 5e and above). Make sure you don’t have a faulty Ethernet adapter(you can check that in Debug Data)
I’m using TP Link Er7212PC with Starlink and 2 MTN routers(one as Backup WAN and another as Access Point).
So instead of getting another router, you can use your old MTN router(use the WAN port, then change connection type to Cable Broadband).
Just make sure you don’t have cat 5 cables in your setup, this is very important
Just dropping my 2 cents Can i use my MTN 5G (ZLT X20) router as a 3rd party router instead of TP-Link am currently using If Yes, how?

martyns303: I have the same concerns too, I have tried both my GTB dollar and naira cards, none is working on the Starlink site, I am considering buying from Jumia but concerned if I’ll be getting support from Starlink since it wasn’t purchased directly. Try stanbic Ibtc mastercard. That's what i use in paying for my monthly subscription. Gets debited directly |

Phones › Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by georgee(m): 11:18am On Apr 10, 2024 |
odimbannamdi: Yes, that's the question I referred to, and thanks for clarifying. I understand now. But how is this full capacity situation affecting the speed of the internet service of Starlink? Are users reporting slow or congested service? Starlink no be Nigerian oooo. Dem don cater for all devices sold directly by them vis-a-vis satellites.. So speed dey Kampe |
Phones › Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by georgee(m): 11:10am On Apr 10, 2024 |
odimbannamdi: Good idea. Regarding the emboldened, I was just wondering aloud jare. Please do you have any response to my other questions? I believe u mean the full capacity question For each region, starlink has specific amount of satellite deploy to cater for each region/device So it means that we now have maximum number of device to be catered for by the satellites For Lagos to av more space, more satellites would have to be deployed Hope my explanation is understood |

odimbannamdi: The last time I checked the price of Starlink, it was 800k. I checked it now and it is 440k. What is driving the reduced price?
I am asking around to know whether anyone in Lagos sells at this discounted price. Do you think it is a good idea? If I buy from someone, will I get support from Starlink themselves if I have issues in the future that may warrant replacement of parts?
Also, I tried ordering directly from the website, but I can't find my address there. Will it be an issue if I use another address?
Can payments on the website be done using our usual naira card? And how long does it typically take for the hardware to arrive after ordering? It doesn't have to be your direct home address.. Type an address that is around 5Km radius from your place (This is the way i ordered mine) Why would you want to buy from a 3rd party when are so sure Starlink has reduced the hardware Kit price? |

BadMaster: Most likely a power surge issue and has damaged the router. I have experienced same, and Starlink sent a replacement for free. They have data that would show them what happened to the router, just open a support ticket and they will send a replacement.
If you do find a solution to the damaged one, kindly share with us, as I also have one lying around. Alright... Thanks for this update.. I will be waiting for their response and share with the house 👍 |

Tuvic007: From the picture you attached I can see that the plug is fused... Confirm if the fuse is still intact, if not, try replacing the fuse I actually removed the fuse and smelt it, i don't think anything is wrong with the fuse.. But the end of the cable that goes into the router is smelling like a burnt a cable. Even the router power hole is smelling too I am so confused right now
