I want to ask, if I use starlink ethernet adapter and do bypass connecting to another router for other devices, will starlink Router be serving its function as a router or completely off while transferring its router function to the third party router

I already asked Stanley08 this question, but he yabbed me grin

My starlink Router is currently placed in my room upstairs with fantastic speed while we spend most of the time in the living room downstairs watching other Internet devices too..Speed is not as fantastic as it should be

I intend to use tp Link router downstairs when my starlink ethernet adapter is shipped

Will the Starlink adapter in the room still serve its purpose of providing wifi service on the room or will it transfer all it's wifi service to this 3rd party router

FINTECHs are really giving traditional banks a run for their money.

The issue I just have with them all is poor customer service. I did a test transaction of $1in February from my WISE account to the virtual USD account I created on PAYDAY App, till today the fund is yet to impact.

It's almost 2 months and PAYDAY is still yet to espond tomorrow mails, chats, etc. Just imagine what would have happened I transferred a huge sum. I for dey weep now 😥

I just hope Tribapay is different.
Run away from Payday

Thanks for the info. This one wey u call my name laidis so, e mean say I suppose know you o.

So it's looking like ₦500k startup and approx ₦35k monthly. Any idea of the length of the cable?

I've got a nagging worry that there would be signal wipe out when it rains. And that would not play nice for what I want to use it for.

Yea... We don relate well well for nairaland.. Na correct guy u be

I paid $587 using Klasha App (763\$)
I initially bought $57 ethernet adapter, but I cancelled the payment when I discovered the Starlink dey pull very strong speed for my sitting (where the router dey) and my bedroom upstairs wia my other TV and second android box dey

Now the dish has been placed on my roof from the manhole. The router is now in my bedroom. My installer bore a hole through my bedroom roof(P.O.P) where the wire was drawn to connect with the router in same bedroom... So speed is massive in my bedroom and very decent downstairs in the sitting room

Rain never start for here, so wouldn't know aw far during rainy season

Length of the cable that came with the dish is 75ft and still thinking if I should still re-order that starlink adapter undecided

So my question here for current owners, how does this perform on a rainy day? Does it suffer any outages like we have for DSTV?

Secondly, how does the subscription work? I am looking to have it as a backup Internet plan for WFH. I'm looking to leave it unsubscribed until my primary has an outage then I can quickly subscribe and switch to it. Would that be something doable?
@airsay..long time... I hail ooo...

I think same account u used in purchasing will be debited for subsequent sub.. Just leave $43 in the account and it will be debited auto when due.

If money is not dia and is due date, I think u will be cut off

For the rain aspect, it is still sunny... Will observe during rainy season and revert

don't get too excited though. The speed is around 40mbps when you connect to the 2.4ghz frequency and most devices don't detect the 5ghz frequency. My laptop is the only device I have that detected the 5ghz frequency and the speed I get while connected to 5ghz is an average of 140mbps. That's only when the starlink makes sense. 40mbps is enough for most internet related stuff but I wish my phone can detect the 5ghz frequency. 40mbps (5MB/s download speed) speed feels like I am still using MTN 4g

Well, all my devices at home (My 2 smart TVs, my android TV box, my Samsung phone and even my Son's laptop) all detected both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz

See my own laptop and android box screenshot

I am getting below speed cos na on top my car outside e still dey oooo... I dey wait my engineer nke we carry am go roof top today

Every cell is a 15mile hexagonal surface area. So it's very possible you have ordered your Starlink to a different cell and it won't work well at your own address because there's no way to tell if you are at the centre or close to the edge of this hexagonal area (your address' cell).

Hopefully you'll be able to connect without issues, but if you experience any problems you know why now. Alternatively, you can always add portability or roam at an extra cost. However, Speed Priority is given to people with fixed addresses.

See photos below

This starlink na rocket science oooo grin

Well, I go know today when my kits get delivered

This isn't correct, it's not because of Fibre or Highbrow areas, nothing like that. It's because these areas are at capacity, it's written on their website that they will stop shipping to certain areas to avoid congestion when satellites serving there areas are at full capacity. If not, everybody's speed will be slow and everyone loses. So when someone disconnects from these areas OR more Satellites are available to serve these areas then the next person on the waitlist gets their Starlink shipped. This also explains why they are charging some people only $42 for reservation/waitlist instead the full $600.
(see screenshot below)

Also if you want to change your address, they warn you that you may not be able to change back to your current service address for the same reason above
(see screenshot below)

Why is this happening?
This is caused by those FOOLS! And yes, i said fools. The fools that are ordering tens and hundreds of Starlink devices to resell because they don't understand how it works. They think it's just like MTN MiFi that you just buy and connect. Till someone in an area at max capacity buys it for 580K and can't connect. Then them go get heart to heart talk for Police station.

I said it that Nigerians will abuse this Starlink thing and it is already happening. Now many people who need the service can't access it because of greed and sheer stupidity of few.

Means pple from ikorodu neva buy starlink well well oooo

What of the 5Km radius thing?. Cos i used a service address that is just 350m away from my address and I got debited for full amount

Blur out your tracking number. That's how their tracking number is these days, it's same as the order number.

However, you can still get the 10digit tracking number by clicking on the tracking number in your Starlink account, it should lead you to the DHL track and trace site where you will find the 10digit tracking number.

By the way, yours is the fastest Starlink ship out i have seen.

Help me interprete this tracking order

Estimated delivery date na 4th April

Is this correct? undecided

Thanks bro... U ar a rare gem..

From my own little investigation on their availability map, some highbrow areas.. Ikeja, Surulere etc are put on waiting list while places and addresses from Ikorodu are on availability list.. Does it mean that starlink is currently concentrating on remote areas and holding up places in the cities. One can see that ikorodu from the colour is on service availability list, while a highbrow area 'Bode Thomas' in Surulere in on waiting list

Please I want to find out when the amount ($600) for the kit will be deducted. I had placed order since on 24th February. Only the subscription fee of $42.16 was deducted. The kits have not shipped and $600 has not been deducted from my card. Do I have to make a separate order for the Kits?
Bro.. Do u av ur device now.. Cos i am currently in same Dilemma.. Just $42.16 was debited from account today

How did u resolve it

You are yet to order for Starlink. What you did was to deposit for future availability of Starlink service at the service address you chose. Starlink presumes its service is not available at your service address if it doesn't recognize it.

When ordering for Starlink, you are supposed to choose a recognized service address.

What to do in your own case: Log into your Starlink account. Now, edit your service address to a recognized address close to your actual address. Any recognized address within 5km radius is fine. You should now be able to proceed to pay the full payment.

Wow.. How do i know a recognized address?

My address came up when I put on the address bar on starlink website.. Abeg guide
me.

Can u show me a recognisable address from below

I use the pink card. At the time, it was the only one available.

You may check out other virtual card providers, like Kuda, Chipper and the rest. They may have better rates than Klasha
I have opted for Klasha.. The black card and even funded for the kit and ethernet adapter but the black card is not showing my ""CeeVeeVee' and my full name on the card

Well, I used Klasha for ordering Starlink, and the whole process was smooth. Even when Starlink refunded the card, Klasha processed my refund on the next business day, so it was very fast.

I'm surprised that PayDay is having all these issues, given that Starlink recommends the use of its service.
Which of the Klasha card did you subscribe to?

I have already registered and waiting on my final KYC3.. Omo dia rate na die 763 shocked
