PoliticsRe: Most Expensive Cities: Lagos, Abuja Among Top 4 In Africa by ghboy: 9:26pm On Mar 15, 2013
1GHC is 82naira. Currency exchange rate is not calculated the way u just did.1ghc is equivalent to 1000 cedi, so either way, naira is still way better than the new ghana cedi. Things are more expensive in Lagos or Nigeria as a whole compared to accra and the whole of ghana.
======================================
lemme clarify the conversion. 100 pesewas = 1 cedi = 0.5 Dollars. so a tin of milk (small tin) is GHC1.50p (one cedi, fifty pesewas) which is $0.75. how much is 75 cents ($0.75) in Naira.
and with respect to the post i cant tell if Accra is cheaper or more expensive than Lagos or Abuja cos i haven't been there before. but a 5km fare for a shared taxi is around $0.75. a 330ml bottle of coke is $0.50. a small bottle of guinness at a regular bar is $1.25! a haircut ranges from $2-$4 dollars. these are just basics for comparism. hoteling, rent, etc vary with location n need. with C5.00($2.5) u can get a 3 square meal in the city. 1 cedi for porridge and bread in the morning, beans n plantain worth 1.5 cedis in the afternoon and "kenkey" or fried rice worth 2.5 cedis and you good to go. grin grin grin
BusinessRe: 20 Nigerian Companies In Forbes Top 25 Companies In West Africa by ghboy: 8:44pm On Feb 11, 2013
as a Ghanaian that's impressive by Naija. once it comes to Market capitalization, that's a big advantage Nigeria would have cos it pushes revenue and profit further up because of high demand.

Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana's Incumbent President Mahama Wins Election by ghboy: 9:09am On Dec 10, 2012
Thanks for this contribution. Is it true that our own Obasanjo was in Ghana as an observer? Is it also true that opposition party accused him conniving with the ruling party to rig the elections? Did he really do it?

Any Ghanaian can help debunk or confirm the veracity of this allegation.

Thanks.
==============================
yea Obasanjo was an observer representing the Ecowas or AU (not sure which). he met the press to give his verdict on the whole election process. he did well in ensuring the EC and Peace Council did their neutral job. he was accused by the opposition for meeting the president earlier in the day on saturday. they thought it wasnt right for him to do so until after declaration. they thought both of them met to try and help the incumbent but there was no evidence to this. i even doubt they ever met one on one. all in all he did great and earned respect here
Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana's Incumbent President Mahama Wins Election by ghboy: 1:43am On Dec 10, 2012
i'm a Gh'nian and since a few have taken interest in our election lemme summarise for those interested.
Mahama the current president went for quality infrastructure and education since in the end it will solve other problems like unemployment and under development. his main opposition Akuffo Addo (one of the total 8 prez candidates) promised free health (18 yrs and below) and free SHS (Snr High Sch.) education. since primary edu is virtually free. he also promised massive industrialisation. the voting went on smoothly until a few problems. 2 of such problems were long queues due to the late arrival of voting material at certain stations and also the breaking down of the biometric and verification machines. (nb. this is the 1st time we using the biometric system of voting to prevent double or more voting er individual). these problems meant the election had to be postponed to the following day as well to ensure a lot of people were not disenfranchised. voting went on smoothly finally the Electoral Commission declared the results within 72hrs as promised. the media houses declared Mahama winner following provisional results from all constituencies (except 6). the main opposition party complained of fraud and the EC massaging figures of the incumbent. this was not enough to stop the EC from declaring John IV the winner. he got majority votes (50.70) so prevented a run off later in the month. he will be sworn in on the 7th of January.

TV/MoviesRe: Ghanian Delegates Visit Nigeria Over Ban Of Movies by ghboy: 3:17pm On Sep 19, 2012
It's interesting how Nigerians think Ghana is "standing" cos of them when infact Nigeria itself is not "standing". how can you be putting out the fire on your neighbour's beard when yours is also on fire?. how exactly is Ghana even dependent on Nigeria??
WebmastersRe: Nigeria Has The Fastest Internet Speed In Africa? by ghboy: 11:51am On Aug 25, 2012
How many Nigerians happy about this news truly enjoy such speed?? other sources claim Ghana ranks 1st. i'm Ghanaian and don't know which story to trust but Vodafone is my ISP and i get a maximum and stable download speed of 2MB/s. a 1.4GB movie in 12-15 mins. that said, we still complain of bad services from vodafone!! just don't go about dissing Ghana n Ghanaians some of you
BusinessRe: Clarification: Ghana Is Not Closing Legal Nigerian Businesses by ghboy: 2:59pm On Jul 08, 2012
is that my home country Ghana some of you are dissing and badmouthing? one thing for sure is Ghana is now a country that seeks its welfare and development and doesnt give a toss about what people will say. U find some Nigerians saying Ghanaian economy is worse, Ghanaian depend on Nigerian entrepreneurs, Ghana is flooded with Nigerian businesses, Ghana is poorly managed because it cant cater for a lesser populace, Ghana cannot run without Nigeria, Ghana will always be inferior to Nigeria etc. what a load of bull. how many of u have visited Ghana? what have you seen or experienced about Ghana. who cares about inferiority or superiority? as far as I'm concerned my country is on the right track to success. i dont know of Nigeria. but my Ghana will take policies n decisions that will benefit both state and citizens. all some of you do is talk bad about a country you haven't experienced or visited. Nigeria has its own problems to tackle i think.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians Think Ghanaians Hate Them?? by ghboy(op): 1:20am On Mar 27, 2012
Logic Mind: what do you care what we think?
you want to organise our thought process now after we have subsidised you out of poverty?
Please respect yourself.
i care what you think cos it helps no one. how am i organising your thought process and how have you subdued our poverty? please don't say things that are unreal. i respect myself and others very much. beef helps no one. thanks to all those inviting me to the forum even though i may get some issues with people for being a Ghanaian on a Naija page
PoliticsWhy Do Nigerians Think Ghanaians Hate Them?? by ghboy(op): 11:39pm On Mar 26, 2012
i am Ghanaian and visit NL just to know what's happening in Nigeria because i believe news here is faster and credible. one thing i've observed is the stick Ghana gets on here and majority of people claiming Ghana is jealous, has an inferiority complex, a "lil" bro to Naija etc. Ghanaians like myself has absolutely no problem with Nigerians. i have Nigerian friends all over, i have Nigerian gadget dealers here in Accra at Tip Toe Lane where most of the electronic shops are owned by Nigerians. they live happily here and will testify Ghanainas are fun loving and hospital. Ghana is country thats striving hard to develop. Ghanaians support and embrace that drive and support whoever is in charge of running the country. Hating or being jealous of Nigeria brings nothing to us. claiming Lagos has a better ecomony than Ghana changes nothing. true or not, Ghana is still doing what it can to make it. hate or dislike works in both ways. there are Ghanaians that naturally hate Nigerians but im very sure there are Nigerians that generally hate Ghanaians. i'm sure most of those who pass such comments and remarks haven't been to Ghana and rely on hear say and false news. Ghana has nothing against Nigeria. we'll choose Nigeria first to any other African country. i have more Naija music on my phone than Ghanaian music. even songs i dont understand. i watched Big Brother Africa once in a while and can bet you i voted Karen and Vina than our own Confidence. please lets end this unwanted rivalry. both our countries are going through hard times. supporting the leaders rather than petty beef is what's needed.
PoliticsRe: Flash! Ghana Against Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. Nominated Prof. Jeffery Sachs!! by ghboy: 11:10pm On Mar 26, 2012
why can't people let Ghana be?? if she chose to vote for Sachs who according to her has helped more than Ngozi should that be a problem? Ghana has been getting lot of stick here for many wrong and little issues. Ghana is a country thinking of itself and how i'll progress. why would her citizens hate Naija? what good does hate bring?
