C'mon Naija. u supposed to be the giant of Africa. even Ghana has been able to resolve their power crisis despite at a higher cost to the individuals. you have oil and gas with huge revenue. im still surprised Nigeria hasnt really done much in the last decade with respect to power generation. |
seriously Nigerians! if its a scam (which i believe it is) then im really surprised most Nigerians fell for it. a similar incident happened in Ghana recently and it partially cost the current president the elections. the president lost in the first lady's region where it was serious. kindly google DKM Ghana for more info |
interesting article and comments. in Ghana public servants receive a pay rise each year. the minimum wage is also reviewed upwards a bit. the tripartite committee made up of government, employers and employees meet to discuss the percentage increment. for salaries it normally hovers between 10%-12.5% of the current basic pay. these adjustments (meant for the next year) are done by the 3rd quarter (of the current year) to enable the Ministry of Finance come out with a credible budget for next year as far as the payment of public sector wages are concerned. the increment for this 2016 was 10% (IMF blah blah blah). the increment for next year is 12.5%. |
actually it is possible but will it be done? my Ghana for instance had stable power. but reliance on the unpredictable hydro toppled with the connection of more towns to the national grid started our power woes. drastic and expensive thermal measures needed to be taken. luckily we discovered oil n gas with the later used to fuel some of the thermal plants. still not enough the government went extra by adopting short term measures buy purchasing 2 emergency power barges from turkey and some power generators from the middle east. one barge has been received and connected to the grid. currently Ghana has a generation capacity more than demand. however, the lights go off once in a while in the big cities due to inadequate gas or the shut down of plants for maintenance. more options like coal n wind are being considered. a little of solar and sea wave tech are being undertaken. the country wishes to be a net exporter of power by 2020! However all these came at a cost. subsidies on utility tariffs have been removed and an increase in power tariffs in January went up about 58%! the average Ghanaian cannot bear the hustle. at certain places water n electricity bills are higher than rent. It possible in Nigeria especially when you have so much gas to power thermal plants |
election petition? as a Ghanaian who witnessed one after our 2012 election i can confidently say that there is only one outcome which is that the result won't be overturned because 1. to maintain peace 2. pdp wont have much evidence to prove their case |
Ghana state no come yet o |
GEJ don't worry we are collating Ghana state results too. you have 2.2million votes! the billboards you erected here shall not be in vain. hehe |
i don't get one thing! Nigerians with their plenty noise about GDP big, per capita greater etc, does it make the average Nigerian better than the average Ghanaian? this is just a harmless question. with the way Naija oil revenue dwarfs Ghana's revenue from all sectors, im still wondering why majority of Nigerians arent better than the average Ghanaian. plus this is the worst time for Ghanaians but im sure it still betters that of many Nigerians. |
as big as Naija is in terms of population and economy i wonder why Energy is a serious problem in the country. please i'm not trying to start no debate or war. just want to ask what the governments (past and present) are doing to curb this problem? i read Naija ran currently on about 5000MW (please correct me if i'm wrong). if true thats very low. are there any ongoing projects to solve this? solar, hydro, thermal, coal etc. |
interesting to read that fellas are predicting "doom" for the airliners in Ghana based on population. Yes! population (if directly related to patronage) is key but have you taken into consideration the new tariffs that affect their cost of services? patronage in Ghana may not be as high as Nigeria but cost of services is definitely low going by tariffs charged. Also, aviation in Ghana is taking a new turn with the new International Airport to be started soon (hopefully) near Accra. Works on the Tamale Airport to upgrade it to an international status is also to begin before the year ends. its relatively better to fly than go by bus lately. A bus journey from Tamale to Accra is 730km (10hrs) and costs GHC45 ($22.5). plane tickets for the same journey (45-60mins) go for between GHC100-GHC200 ($50-$100). though not cheap for the average Ghanaian, patronage is high hence the introduction of late afternoon flights as well. Ghana's aviation is doing all it takes to make it easy and cheap to operate airlines in the country and reduced prices of aviation fuel by 20% just in June this year. And to that dude laughing at the increase in electricity and water tariffs in Ghana i can only laugh back at him/her. for years tariffs have not gone up. supply of both utilities has been improved greatly and there's going to be more improvement in them especially electricity. one thing the ruling government will achieve is their promise of 5000MW by 2016. the country is currently supplying approximately 2000MW with works ongoing to increase it. there is no need for some of u to "bad mouth" Ghana because of this news. |
ahaha. interesting how this pic of Accra was used. as much as Accra doesn't boast of many skyscrapers, some parts of Accra (national theatre area, airport city n gulf house around shiashi) are fast developing. Accra still has a lot to prove at its poorly planned n must make good use of coastal development. i however won't judge general well being on nice/tall buildings. i'd rather the roads were expanded n 5 star, a good school, hospital n police station within every 4/5 mile radius, better sanitation n strict laws to back neatness etc. how many scrappers in Lagos, Accra are state owned? theres much much much to do in both countries. a whole lot |
How exactly did she 'break' the West African alliance by "refusing to save Selly" when she saved Bassey? Where is Bassey from again? Argentina? Please, I just hope your IQ doesn't correspond with the number of characters in your name (ie. Five). -------------- fine Bassey is WAn. didnt realise he was the one she saved. but for the love of God let Ghana be (not referring to u). i hate seeing that Ghana didnt vote Bassey thing. did they vote Selly? pleeease. besides Gh can vote who they want. and Elikem always conspiring against Naija n never nominating Mel or Bev? cant see the connection. |
1st WA alliance to be broken was Beverly. she was HOH and refused to save Selly. 2nd WA alliance to be broken was by SL for voting Betty when Selly was up so please let Ghana be. |
If ur country could betray Bassey even wen u guys had no hatred for him, I dnt feel 9ja can be an exemption to that. Its under probability. ---------/ Ghana didnt vote Bassey cos SL didnt vote Selly when she was up. simples |
watching naija show (Clinic Matters) here in Gh n just saw Melvin. hehehehe. shouted his name and everyone at home (non BBA fans) was watching me n wondering who he was. its my 1st time watching the show. is he a minor or major character? |
Elikem survived? seriously? who is HOH. havent followed for a while |
why do i have a feeling the West Africa hating HMs (Feza n Oneal esp) are planning not to nominate Bev n Mel til the end? they may leave them both for the final to split the assured (9ja,Gh n SL) votes between them to reduce their chances of winning. Feza n Oneal (God i hate this donkey) might just get persons from their regions nominated after Elikem is gone. final 5 of Mel, Bev, Feza, Oneal and most likely Angelo will not be good for Mel n Bev. many will agree Melvin has the upperhand to swoop WA votes but Bev hasnt been up before so we cant be sure about that. just my opinion |
@Cusubaba you are the definition of a mistake and ignorant sick baboon. u come spewing things u dont know. no company in any of the 3 northern regions of ghana? u are big fooooool n idiooot as such. the dangote cement u boast of is toppled by ghana cement n diamond savanna cement situated here. all banks in accra are in tamale. we have tomato and shea nut, processing factories in the north u id!ot. why am i even replying you? the roads are better than those flooded lagos roads. please save ur ignorance for something else. im even surprised at this f00l. what do u know of tamale? i never said this place was better. i said what are u enjoying there that im not enjoying in Tamale? answer the damn question and stop bleating u he goat. |
[quote author=Cusubaba]Hahahaha.... Ur a big liar! Fool, what are u enjoying in Tamale in Northern Region of Ghana when 80% of Northern children are street hockers in Accra. Ashanti people from southern part of Ghana called people from northern(Tamale) part of Ghana '' PEPEYI'' meaning poor, slaves and primitive people. Fool, there is no 1 company in the three Northern part of Ghana i.e Northern region, Upper region and Upper west region. Upper East region capital Bolgatanga is a typical village with only one tire road, the only road that lead to Navarango to Burkina Faso. Upper West region capital Wa is not even upto a village, is a typical bush. Northern Region capital Tamala where Ghana bleaching face president John Mahama come from is only the city in the entire northern part of Ghana that have local airport and local stadium but with out any single company. In Northern region of Ghana( Tamale) there is no road from Tamale to Bole where Ghana bleaching face president John Mahama come from. There is no road from Tamale to Yedi and Bibila where Ghana former vice president Aliyu Mahama come from. In Upper East region of Ghana, there is no road from Bolgatanga to Wa where Ghana University of Development Studies located. There is no road from Bolgatanga to Bawku where Ghana have border with Togo in northern part. In Upper West region, there is no road from Wa to Hamele where Ghana also have another border with Burkina Faso. There is also no road from Wa to zuwarugu where Ghana Gold mine located in North. Pls fool, stop spreading liars. Ghana don't have any constant electricity and every offices, network mass, big business, banks, manufacturing companies and rich people in Ghana have and used generators every day. Listen fool, my 3 years working with a Nigeria company in Ghana that instoring Glo Network in the whole Ghana have open my eyes to know that Ghana is nothing but a glorified village. Ghana is a typical village to compare with Senegal and Ivory Coast in West African. Ghana is a country build with liars, propaganda and hypocrites, hatred and enviness. The only good place in Ghana are East Legon in Accra where 1000s of Nigerians live and Sprintex road in Accra where TB Joshua build his Church in Ghana, the rest of Ghana are glorified typical villages. ---------------------------------------- infact you are big !d!0t. a typical fooooo!. i ask a simple question and decide to insult. just look at what u are bleating about when you've clearly not been to the Northern part of the country. hahahahahahah i wont waste time on you mistake of an animall. at least people of the enjoy uninterrupted electricity that your Lagos doesnt. funny sick donkey |
hahahahahaha. some comments make me laugh. what is huge population when majority of its people live below the poverty line and unemployment is a shocking 20+%? what have Lagos' beauty over Accra got to do when majority if Lagosians dont have access to basic needs? access to healthcare, good roads, education, portable water etc. dont let me start on electricity. how a whole giant (as you call yourselves) produce less than 5000MW of power (i could be wrong but i doubt). thats twice more than Gh for a country 5x bigger in terms population. isn't that a pity? lets not kid ourselves. Ghana has its own issues. power was one recently and has been tackled. we are going to export power by close of the current year. why would a Ghanaian want to be a Nigerian or move to Nigeria? last i checked the movement was the other way. not necessarily for business but just to enjoy basic amenities. basic amenities i repeat. those not basic and available in your "beautiful" Lagos, Abuja or Ukwa Ibom. check universities and you'll find many Nigerians in Ghanaian universities. i wont give up what im enjoying here to be in Nigeria (no offence). what is a big GDP when it's not reflecting in the lifes of the people. question is "what are you enjoying as a Nigerian in Nigeria that i'm not enjoying here in Tamale, Ghana? lets not kid ourselves |
truth be told the few Nigerians (friends of mine) i know are cool. the reason i dislike (not hate) Nigerians is because of the few criminal things some do here in GH ( im not calling Nigerians criminals) som ive witnessed and seen. majority in Ghana are very hardworking and fun to be with (things that easily whoo our ladies). but one thing Nigerians should know is that Ghanaians are NOT envious of them. i for one dont see why i'd give up being a Ghanaian to be Nigerian esp seeing as other countries find fault with Nigerians mostly. the inferiority complex thingy is funny as well. as for the intimidation its very true. |
1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10 11) Nigerians are proud 12) Nigerians dont like Ghanaians because they compare themselves and both countries. basically that sums it up. |
good move i must say. our local league esp the lower divisions need a major push because i happen to watch a few of those in my area (Tema) and see lots of talent. why he didnt go in for a top club, i dont know. and to those badmouthing Ghana, get a life! u're too sensible for that |
[quote author=plaindealer]Laogos is destined to be the largest economy after SA especially by the time all the major economics factors and projects like the lagos Badagry express way, the trade some, sea port, lekki refinery, Eko Atlantic, and commercial oil production and the state's participating in commercial oil and gas business come in line. Their leaders in Lagos are very smart, very focused and forward looking. -------------- good to know the projects ongoing but dont sound as if other economies are asleep. many are doing their homework |
@Gari ~ Warlord it's simple. Ghana didnt vote Bolt because they didnt vote Selly when she was up. i wont scratch your back when you refused to scratch mine. am i the only one who thinks Gh will vote Fatima should a Gh'ian and 9gerian not be up? unless #teamriggers do their thing |
Ghanaians advocated for Bolt? i doubt. i dont know if previous weeks eviction results were "rigged" but as long as Sierra Leone didnt vote Selly, Ghanaians were never gonna vote Bolt. i wouldnt have voted him. i believe Gh'nians voted Pokello cos of her closeness to Elikem. no other HM up for eviction concerned Ghana in anyway. |
@spade don't recall Seirra Leone voting Selly. Ghanaians always return a favour. if u don't scratch our backs we most likely dont scratch yours back. |
the riggers no finish? i've been waiting for ages for how africa voted. |
how many evictions has Natasha survived now? 4? |
its #teamriggers time. Pokello topped with 5 country votes. dont ask source. just wait cos time will tell. |
@ fork addict thanks bro but a lil help needed. 80% of my browsing is via fone (opera mini). i do click on 'quote' once which does quote the person i want to reply. i only underline the persons comment n then type my reply. it indeed looks like a copy and paste but i click 'quote' once. |
[quote author=GARRI~ WARLORD]Its not all about voting.. That one has already been established that we will never vote for him but he should tame his tongue.. The fact that he aint getting no votes from us doesnt gives him the freedom to badmouth us.. Abi dem swear for am.. ---------- we (well many of us) here in Gh feel ashamed by his comments sometimes. even if u disliked someone or something why not keep it to urself. he will definitely be quizzed on these on his return cos there are a lot Nigerians involved in Ghana's entertainment industry. some comments dont help at all. why always compare. i dislike him myself. |
