Igbo and yoruba and their claims... Igbo and yoruba didn't exist before the 19th century. All that existed was called Benin kingdom.

Hitler killed more than 30 million people. The comparison is off ThothHermes: |
Cowards are trashing a dead man. What a disgrace to have compatriots who would trash a dead person. Even enemies at war give the fallen soldiers of the other side respect. |
Rest in peace, you did good by us. May God bless your soul. |
The way these guys just carry obaseki's personal fight as theirs is amazing. Obaseki couldn't care less about them, nothing and nobody matters to obaseki except obaseki, yet you will see these guys cursing up and down on obaseki's behalf. Obaseki has no gratitude, you help him today, he backstabs you tomorrow. He's my uncle by the way. Well, I'm staying away from that part of my family. They have backstabbing in their DNA. "Never trust an obaseki" is an advise which saved my life more than once. supreme2014: |
PDP, you let obaseki scam your party into oblivion. When will you guys realize that obaseki is what caused your down fall ? Instead you just keep svcking off obaseki ... obaseki thinks only about himself, yet you guys are everywhere cursing under obaseki's banner. obaseki ran away from edo-state as soon as he lost power. Yet you guys are here playing soldier for a cowardly abomination called obaseki ? |
BREAKING NEWS: God almighty comes to deliver his judgement on Edo-state elections. God's judgement favours APC. BREAKING NEWS: Obaseki claims God is an APC member and he's no longer trustworthy. |
Yes, you not being an expert means you are at the same level as those you have the audacity to think you can educate. You know nothing about the topic. You have a big understanding problem, one learns from experts, that is what profs are ! But "learning" and believing anything said by an expert or a claimed expert are two different things. I learnt maths from experts, that is how I became an expert. I never believed an expert for the fact he's an expert, I doubted every statements of my professors...the process of becoming an expert brought me to the level in which I could independently say what is true and what is false. My professors job was not to make me recite their research but rather to lead me into attaining that level in which I can second guess them. Favour9ja: |
Kindly show the quote ! I'm tired of you always saying complete b.s. Favour9ja: |
I repeat that it is completely ridiculous to put ife bronze heads at the same level as Benin bronzes. I already gave the reasons above. But for some reason some people must associate both. The fact that around 50 (much less I think) bronze heads were dig up in ife now seems to imply that somehow those things must be linked to thousands of Benin artefacts including ivory, wood and bronzes and beads... Almost all you hear about for are just complete fairytales. I repeat it again to the unsuspecting reader, you can't operate as a consumer if you are interested in a topic. You have to operate at the same level as "experts". Don't listen to people whom are consumers and therefore don't know more about the topic than you do. Which is to say they don't know anything about the topic. |
I encourage everybody to ignore what a non expert says about a topic. He doesn't know the topic better than you, though his pride makes him think he can teach you the topic which he doesn't master better than you. Also, beware of people giving you "proof" then claiming that the "proof" is not open access. 🗑️ |
Source of what exactly? Ife is source of nothing. Southwestern politicians in the colonial era invented all this rubbish about ife. Ife is younger than Lagos and Jebu. Satya1: |
The way I keep getting banned is annoying, I can't just debunk something, as soon as I do so, I'm banned and my comment is erased. Building on existing work does not mean believing the work to be good, it actually means breaking the intellectual barrier between consumer of knowledge and creator/discoverer of knowledge, then verifying by yourself that the existing work is good then building upon it. You are supposed to be the one doing the verification! Not some magical "peer reviewers". I'm tired of this endless back and forth, and I don't know many nigerians who have the ability to admit when they're wrong, you guys would rather descend into pure madness instead of admitting that you are wrong. The conversation between us ends here. Feel free to keep worshipping "experts" and doing religion while believing you are doing science. |
Descartes gives the foundations of science in his book discussing scientific method. I suggest you read it. As I said earlier, you confuse science with religion. You are a religious worshipper whose prophets are called "peer reviewed experts". What you are doing is not science. |
Dude, I'm explaining to you how science works and I'm giving you my analysis of "soft sciences". What is so hard for you to understand in this situation? You are the one whom is advocating for believing in "experts" without proof so long they are "peer reviewed". You indeed don't break the intellectual barrier between consumer and maker of knowledge in order to be able to verify if the "experts" are saying crap or not. You are the one advocating for blind faith, blind belief, blind trust without proof, so long the author is "peer reviewed". Even in mathematics, we often have real garbage which was peer reviewed, talk less of soft sciences. Favour9ja: |
Well I myself am an expert on my field. I don't speak as a consumer mervelling at testimonies of invisible experts who did this or that, I need to see the actual scientific work. Benin artefacts were thoroughly studied and contrary to what some people think, Benin artefacts are not restricted to metal works. Their dating is not a work of fiction. Benin has wooden artefacts, beaded artefacts, ivory artefacts...those are easily dated. Metal/bronze can not be dated with carbon dating. Most of what you hear about ife metal dating is just pure imagination. If you are interested in a field, then you should break the intellectual barrier between being a consumer and actually knowing what you're talking about on the topic. The moment you start talking about "experts"...I'm directly informed that you're a consumer. Favour9ja: |
Hello, I keep being banned for debunking a yoruba ethnic fairytale:
|
You are talking about ife bronze heads, right ?Those around 50 artefacts have not been returned. I really hope you are not talking about Benin bronzes and linking their return to benefits for ife, if that is what you are doing then you guys are taking your ethnic fairytales too far.. You are a little bit vague so it's hard to tell what you are talking about. slimfit1: |
Ok, you're talking about ife art not Benin bronzes. I misunderstood you and already made a lengthy reply to you. Ok, ife people can do what they want with their bronze heads, that is not my concern. I'm only concerned about Benin bronzes. slimfit1: |
Who is the "we" ? These are the belongings of my ancestors. My tradition is based on these items. My people's history is recorded on these items. So please tell me who is the "we" ? My ancestors' blood is not going to be your money maker ! slimfit1: |
What did Africa look like in 1747 ? Let us ask Emanuel Bowen whom is dead but was alive in 1747 and witnessed Africa in 1747 and made maps of Africa published in 1747: Map of Africa by Emanuel Bowen, published in 1747 👇🏿
|
How many bronzes does ife actually have ? I'm getting tired of people always trying to bring ife into the conversation when anybody mentions Benin bronzes. Benin has thousands of artefacts in museums in western Europe and western countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia ...even in the palace of Windsor. Ife doesn't have up to 50 artefacts outside Nigeria! Ife artefacts are not up to the level of Benin artefacts ! Not in numbers nor quality nor monetary value nor value for African history, nor sophistication, nor function. Benin was an empire ! Benin bronzes are part of Benin treasures, the treasures of an empire. So please stop bringing up ife each time Benin is being mentioned. Talk about ife without mentioning Benin and talk about Benin without mentioning ife. This copycat attitude of always trying to replicate anything from Benin has to stop ! |
This dating is not backed by scientific research. But it is rather backed by jingoistic feelings. Favour9ja: |
👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 You managed to open your mouth and make noises without saying anything. ElevationD: |
Didn't some cia linked people try to have Putin's helicopter crash recently? Though, it's ok to suspect, but not to claim without evidence, if you claim without evidence then you are only misleading people. MightySparrow: |
