I believe this story. I had a tip sometime last year that officers in the Nigerian Army have been covertly pushing for mutiny within the rank and file by denying them their rights and having soldiers posted in volatile states like Borno and Yobe badly unequipped. This is the last resort by the Arewa to on sit GEJ. Last year, security was given top most priority in the budget and the Nigerian Army took the largest chunk. So, it is my sincere opinion that the situation the troops face in Mali is both deliberate and meant to cause embarrassment and mutiny. |
