So we got a call from his school that a laptop went missing at one of the hostels, and all fingers were pointed at him, they said he was the last person who went there and Sha Sha Sha, they've seized his phone, we pulled a call through to his mom, she said she'd be at his school tomorrow (that is, today)..... This was what I was trying to avoid but my husband wasn't seeing all this at all, he is pissed now anyway.... His image at school have been tarnished... Even if he was innocent, the damage cannot be undone ....

I understood the original poster of that thread and I understand this one too. Children pick up on things fast and as young as they are, they know, feel and understand things. They may not be able to express or articulate their thoughts and feelings like adults, but damn they are smart and intelligent beings.

Sometime ago, I was watching a PG movie (no age limits or restrictions) with my one year old niece and a kissing scene I didn't anticipate came on. I was desperately trying to reach the remote control to change the channel but I was couldn't. You know how when you sit on a couch and the remote control slips in between the cushions right? That's what happened and that's why I couldn't reach the remote quick enough.

Anyway, my niece watched the whole scene while we were both sitting, then she stood up (on the couch) and tried to kiss me, mimicking what she had just seen on TV. I was amused and shocked at the same time, but I stopped her.

For me, it's about the health implications of adult to infant mouth kissing more than anything else. I get that you are the parent of a child, but honestly if I were a mother I would refrain from mouth to mouth kissing of my infant, to avoid trips to the hospital over infections or other health issues, I may not know the origins of. For all we know, it could be contact with my my lips or acidic saliva causing my baby to be sick and if my man says he is not comfortable with something, I will listen because I am not the sole owner of that child.

My own mother kissed most all her babies on the lips as far back as the 80s during which she has most of them I know because I watched her and helped her care for them too. She told me that, she had not eaten since morning and she wants to cook something to eat and her hubby is out of town and will be back later.

She told me she will refund me when her hubby comes back. She was pregnant, hungry and need help.

I badly wanted to but I instantly had many flash back and I told her, I don't have the money right now. I told her, why can't you go and meet that your fellow business woman down there? she may be able to help you, she replied me with God forbid.

The money she asked me, I have it in my base, three times over but I refuse to give her. I painfully refused to help her because nigeria society has made me look like a fool.

To save my peace - I just have to only help strangers and not give help to the people I know
